One of the things about writing that feels the silliest is when there’s a detail in the scene that the character doesn’t think is important but you know the reader will know it’s important because otherwise it wouldn’t be there, so you’re just sort of making eye contact with the reader over the character’s head and whispering “don’t tell them”

one thing you gotta love about atla is that for a fantasy show set during a war, it doesn't glorify war like at all. there's no major battle of army against army, no war heroes. the war just sucks and needs to end

someone write me a fic where nico finally works up the courage to confess to percy but only gets as far as saying he likes guys before chickening out. and then percy won’t stop pestering him to say who the “lucky guy” is and nico just says it’s jason to get him to shut up.

but then jason and percy are both trying to be great supportive bros and act as shitty overly enthusiastic wingmen trying to set nico up with each other and nico wants to murder both of them.

So I (59M) recently contracted CCHF and died. My wife (58F) organized me a funeral (cost $6969) without asking me at all. I was unable to make it because I was in a government lab facility (2 months). AITA?
