I'm curious because I'm pretty sure I'm an outlier (my mom's a librarian so we went very often when I was younger) but I want to know if that's true.

In case you're wondering what raising a kid in a polyamorous family looks like, our kid just has. Zero concept of monogamy. Like we've explained it to her many times but she just like. Forgets it's a thing and the assumed cultural norm. We're showing her Lord of the a Rings and she was very confused when Aragon rejected Eowyn.
"Wait, I thought they liked each other??"
"She likes him but he's already with Arwen."
"So?? He could just be with both??"
Anyway enjoy this meme I found about it

Smarter people than I have remarked on how Hugo tends to be a very good observer of people who can accurately convey those observations in his literature but sometimes fails at reconstructing the inner life lying behind that behavior
Usually this is most pronounced where women are concerned but boy presenting the operative reason behind Marius depression being that he's not working sure is a take, too

modern-with-magic au where geralt is like a one-person paranormal home inspector team and yeah sometimes it's a wraith or whatever but do you know how many times he's had to explain, like, basic facts about wildlife. and plumbing. he's like "for sure you're not haunted" and people are like "haha no no no I'm definitely haunted there's no other explanation" and he just stares at them like. "buddy. listen. ghosts are real. wraiths are real. necrophages are real. shit, I had to clear out a lower vampire nest in someone's attic two weeks ago. I've been doing this job for 400 years and I am telling you, with absolute certainty, that your problem is squirrels."

hello I had a thought about the Safest Child several hours after rereading that comic
that was a gift of Teeth and Money. (technically. since there was gold in it. Or Tooth and Money anyway) someone tell the swan from the naming your emotions comic
(Two references in this : one is the Safest Child who asks her Great-Uncle Killie for a present, and receives one of his real knocked-out, gold-filled teeth. She is pleased with this because it’s “real old gold from the old millennium.” The other is the mildly famous swan comics about emotions.)

I guess this is really about how we sometimes tell stories to live our own desires.

no actually i don't think antivaxxers' kids should die from a disease. i don't think gun advocates' kids should die in school shooting. children dying is bad actually, even if they're children of people you don't like.
