⁠ Mes chers,⁠ ⁠ After months of shutdown due to covid, I was super excited to take my first Ballet class of 2022 and... wow, I can definitely feel it! 🥴⁠ ⁠ As an introvert, I don't go out much and didn't realize until today that I am, in fact, in terrible shape. I really need to take care of my body, as I tend to focus on my mind...⁠ ⁠ You know, the notorious "so many books, so little time..." 😍⁠ ⁠ From this point forward, I'll commit to physical activity, starting with Ballet and figure skating! 🩰⛸️🥰⁠ ⁠ To make sure I stick to my resolutions, I'll document my (humble!) achievements. ⁠ Mes chers,⁠ ⁠ 2022 just started and I want to share with you my top 5 wishes and/or goals for my writing career for this year:⁠ ⁠ 1️⃣ I wish more than anything to sign a book deal for my debut Horror novel: the manuscript will be sent to several French major publishing companies this month... Fingers crossed! 🖤⁠ ⁠ 2️⃣ My main writing goal this quarter is to complete the draft of my second novel by April. ⁠ ⁠ 3️⃣ I've set up a monthly bilingual newsletter entitled 'A Descent into the Maelström' - titled so because of Edgar Allan Poe's short story! 😋 - and aspire to grow my mailing list this year.⁠ ⁠ 4️⃣ I publish a new article on my blog every Wednesday; last month was crazy, so I'm a bit behind schedule, but a new article will be published every Wednesday starting next week.⁠ ⁠ 5️⃣ I saved the best for last: I'm thrilled to announce that I've created a discussion forum on my author website! 🥳⁠ ⁠ Its primary goal is to welcome readers from all over the world to share together our love of literature, art, science, and so much more.⁠ ⁠ An English-speaking section will be up soon, so you may join and meet fellow readers! 🖤⁠ ⁠ Voilà !⁠ ⁠ I hope you are as excited as I am about this new year! ⁠ Mes chers,⁠ ⁠ As I was talking with a friend about our respective dream houses (she is currently looking for a farmhouse in which she'll raise her baby girl. She's already picturing the marks on the bedroom door as her daughter is growing up... Isn't it the most beautiful thing ever?), I told her mine would be a black wooden Victorian mansion.⁠ ⁠ She almost choked on her mille-feuille cake.⁠ ⁠ 'Black, as in "BLACK"?', she asked.⁠ ⁠ Yup.⁠ ⁠ A black wooden Victorian mansion. With hidden passages, and secret doors, and a giant library, and surrounded by nothing but trees. ⁠ Oh! and possibly haunted, but we'd make it work.⁠ ⁠ The more the merrier, right? 😋⁠ ⁠ Obviously, she had no idea what I was talking about -I don't blame her- so I started looking online for some examples and... BAM!⁠ ⁠ The 'Scooby-Doo' Mansion on the Hill appeared.⁠ ⁠ This beautiful black wooden mansion entirely remodeled by @pennyblackinteriors is THE perfect example of my dream house! ⁠ Stewart Horner, co-founder and principal designer of Penny Black Interiors, is a pure genius and I can't stress enough how much I admire his work. ⁠ ⁠ Anyway, my friend laughed -with me or at me, that is the question- and ended our discussion with the infamous 'you didn't change a bit, did you?'⁠ ⁠ I guess not! 😅⁠ ⁠ What about your dream house?
