In Gaza, an ordinary civilian stepping out to get humanitarian aid becomes a target.

Those heading to food distribution points often return in body bags.

Same concept:

People dying for a glimpse of hope and survival.

But the difference is — Squid Game was fiction.

In Gaza, the blood is real. The death isn't scripted.

Yesterday morning, my husband and one of our neighbors went to get a bag of flour. They found thousands of people there , then it started . The Israeli army started to shoot them randomly while they were trying to escape. Our neighbor was hurt and now he is in the hospital,we don't know what is going to happen with him 😞

Black people fight for everybody. We stand in solidarity with women, lgbt people, poor people all over the world of every skin color and background. Every religion and nationality.

Today, stand with us. Be with us. Tell a black person you love them. Hug a black person (with consent). Ask that hot black girl out today. Make a black person smile. Black lives matter to everybody and you matter to us.

we were talking about the criminalization of homosexuality in class and my professor (who as far as i know isn't in any way queer) said something i quite enjoyed in that. well the exchange was more or less this: a student asked a question (doesn't really matter what exactly just know that i was rolling my eyes So hard internally) and the prof looked at the student and was like (i'm paraphrasing here this conversation was not in english) Do you have any queer friends? and the student went Uhhhh in a manner that made it clear the answer was probably no and the prof said Actually statistically speaking you most likely do. If I had to divide this room into two groups the way to do it would not be "people with queer friends" and "people without queer friends" it would be "people whose queer friends are out to them" and "people whose queer friends aren't". And if you're in the latter category you should consider why that is--if maybe your behavior is indicating to the queer people around you that you're not safe to come out to. to come back to your question if you really want to know about queerness there's a very simple way of doing that: you make yourself a person queer people feel comfortable talking to about their experiences and then you fucking listen to them when they do (the fuck is not paraphrased) (there was a fuck involved) (frankly king shit)

If you're okay with it could I rant a little about this holiday? If not just delete this.

I live, born and raised, in Galveston. Juneteenth started here, and before it was a national holiday, it was hated by our government here.

City officials would order cops to be EVERYWHERE. It was always a celebration but for years city officials fought it tooth and nail. They would ban any and all alcohol on the beaches despite them being public spaces and those bans were ONLY enforced around June and specifically with the black and POC communities. You'd have people getting arrested for drinking on the beach while a white family had the same alcohol less than 20 feet away.

Galveston has faced massive gentrification over the years, houses are constantly bought and repurposed as 'beach' houses that cost a fortune to rent. Families that have been here for almost 200 years have been financially squeezed out for tourism and juneteenth was the ban of these politicians for years. It was only recently that they started considering to "allow" the celebration because it brought more tourism.

It's frustrating that a lot of local texas politicians who are 'celebrating' it now actively fought against the black community and tried egregiously to erase this holiday from existence. I will never forgive or forget how Galveston city treated its own residence in the very recent past.
