@obsessedwithecho's personal account. They/Them/It. Posts about fandoms and also random stuff. If I interact with someone that doesn't mean I endorse them, since you can't vet everyone all the time, not to mention nobody will ever have all of my exact opinions on everything, nor yours, nor anyone elses. Hopefully specifying this is unnecessary because it should be the default assumption. I also believe you can be a fan of something and not like the creator of it, so don't assume I do in all cases. Going back to how interaction doesn't equal endorsement, there's for example, many people who think proship means problematic ship when it just means not anti, so I just ignore DNI's regarding that stuff cause lots of people say proship DNI but don't know what it even means, and I see it everywhere. + the block button exists for a reason. Some discourse like pro vs anti, and also syscourse, kinning, and religion/spirituality are simply respectfully ignored regardless of my own positions on these things, at least when it comes to who I choose to interact with. Therefore my opinions cannot be extrapolated from who I do or do not interact with. I mean if I find out someone is a nazi or something I'll block them, but you gotta let some opinions you disagree with in so you don't end up in an echo chamber (and again, you can't vet everyone). Also I just can't be bothered with certain things, especially since people sometimes like or reblog my posts and then I look and then see a DNI that would technically exclude me or I see they disagree with me on something & that's not a dealbreaker for me but clearly would be for them. The Left is fractured enough as is anyways, we can all be problematic by each other's standards and still get along. Besides, DNIs stress me out to the point I can't not ignore them or I break down. I shouldn't have to agree with you on something to reblog your art or whatever, and if it's an issue for you, you can just block me. I don't mind.

by the way, for those who follow me and have been experiencing V3 for the first time thru GG
(though i haven't been spoiler-free for about a year so i'm not sure why you'd be here...! hello, though! welcome!)
the end twist of V3 is NOT retroactively removing the Hope's Peak Academy arc from the timeline. according to Kodaka in the V3 artbook directly, this is a setting reboot. he uses those words exactly in most translations i've seen. this is an AU. this is an alternate timeline where the HPA arc is fictional. the HPA arc still happened...in another world.
wanna make this clear again because the misinfo that only V3 was ever real still makes the rounds to this day, for some reason—i think because so many kids came in thru V3 and assume there's no reason to play any other game because they're "fake" or whatever (and don't have their boyfriend kokichi in them)

It is genuinely fascinating how many feminist cis women, including those who are on paper openly supportive of trans people, struggle to actually think about trans men as a concept.
A few months ago I ended up having a very long talk with a friend of a friend. She told me that she'd never really spoken to a trans man before, the only trans people she knew were trans women. There was a point, after the third time I reminded her that I was a man, that she just sorta of slotted me into her mental box of "man", and I could tell that happened because after that point she started trying to explain things to me as if I was a cis man.
I categorically do not "pass" and likely never will. I'm very short, my hips are prominent because I'm fat, I keep my hair long, charitably I could be said to have a baby face, I have D-cups and cannot bind due to spinal problems. To the majority of cis people I do not "look like a man".
But for the rest of the conversation I had with this friend of a friend I had to keep reminding her of how other people are going to view me, because there was no room in her mental idea of "man" for a man who is not treated as one. This was not malicious on her part, she was very nice to me, and I believe her when she says she wants to support trans people. I do not think she was lying when she told me how horrified she was to learn about how her trans woman friends were treated.
She said she was envious of me going out alone and how I need to understand that's a facet of male privilege and I asked her to look at me and explain why I'd be any safer. She was shocked to learn that I've been catcalled, been assaulted, that I regularly get spoken down to by cis men, shocked to learn I don't have a single transmasc friend who hasn't. She couldn't understand that I'm going to be treated the same by misogynists as any fat cis woman who doesn't wear makeup. There was no room in her feminism for trans men, because there was no room in her understanding of gender for men who are not cis.
We ended up talking about politics. She told me she was terrified of abortion being banned, and that this would never be a threat if men could get pregnant.

i'm gonna be honest i don't get why they say everypony instead of everybody in mlp. it's not like the word everybody is human-specific. the ponies have bodies. the word everypony, however, is pony-specific in a world where ponies are not the only people in their society, which means it would be more accurate and inclusive to use everybody instead of everypony. it all makes no sense to me
#well it doesn't help that brony culture started on 4chan but yeah#but yeah this probably doesn't help with that problem

i want madoka and homura to fight so bad.
i want homura to try to act like the big bad she wants to pretend she is, only for that to eventually fall through bc it’s all fake, and she can’t keep this facade up against the person she loves the most anymore.

I found this once on Google images. It feels relevant here. I can't believe I forgot about it the first time I reblogged this. It's completely accurate btw, the models she uses match the real life weapons exactly, though this only covers the anime and the movie (one official spin off has her briefly use a knife and there may be other similar examples). And this chart ignores her actual magical weapons.
People who haven't seen Madoka Magica might not know this, but both the characters Mami and Homura are magical girls who use guns as weapons. But while Mami's gun are magical, Homura's are literally just normal guns she stole from the government.
