Happy Thanksgiving
Brothers:
We wish all of you and your families a wonderful, glorious, and blessed Thanksgiving and for all of us to give thanks to the Lord for all that has been given and bestowed upon us. This holiday is a universal one celebrated on different days and ways in many nations for centuries. During this holiday season let us not forget those less fortunate than ourselves and dedicate ourselves to help as much as we can to make this a better place for all. Let us also not forget those who have departed but are always in our thoughts and prayers and may their memories be eternal.
Thanksgiving Day in America is a national holiday celebrated on the fourth Thursday of November since FDR and originated as a harvest festival. It has been celebrated nationally on and off since 1789, starting with a proclamation by George Washington after a request by Congress. It became a US federal holiday in 1863, during our devastating Civil War, under President Lincoln who proclaimed a national day of âThanksgiving and Praise to our beneficent Father who dwelleth in the Heavens,â and to be celebrated in November. Together with Christmas and the New Year, Thanksgiving is a part of the broader fall â winter holiday. Let us give thanks.
Fraternally yours,
Brother Lou Katsos AHEPA District 6 Governor

Membership Incentive
Brothers:
I hope all is well. The Supreme Lodge of the Order of AHEPA has made the decision to reinstitute the membership dues incentive until December 31, 2019. Once again, per capita assessment payments to headquarters for the months of November or December shall be applied to the following calendar year. This only applies to new, reinstated, or delinquent members. The application fee will be a base rate of $55 instead of the normal $45.
