Happy Birthday, is how I'll start. To be honest I don't know what to say; Other than happy birthday on this beautiful day. It's been some years since you left this place- Went back home, To a place you had never known. All I can say on this day is happy birthday. I want to say more to you. Finish the last conversation we had- Sitting in your lap. I woke you up on my couch, While I scurried off to work. Gave you a hug and a kiss, Little did I know I would always remember this. A few weeks went by and I didn't stop and realize, That you hadn't been around. That was the moment I broke down. The news came as such a shock. So young, so full of life... One of my rocks. You did so many things for me while you were here. Saved me from men that I had feared, Stood up for me when I had no strength left; Took care of the young woman you met. For you, my soul brother, I'll drink a beer. It was Christmas time in Newport with Marilyn Monroe when you came through my radio. It was fall in Roanoke when you flew in my path; A butterfly, for which I had asked. Universe- Why did you take him so soon? My soulmate, My brother, I still see you in the moon.
