Perhaps the last remaining watch factory from the United States... Elgin, Illinois. This rare ring... A reminder of the fine craftsmanship and dedication we left behind, once upon a time in America, which ran for around one-hundred years. This particular piece was made between 1958-1963. Now transcended into our sterling silver ring. 📸@therocks (at The Rocks, Sydney)

Paying homage to the iconic 911, @recwatches from Copenhagen have been sympathetically salvaging obsolete chassis’s into a watch that’s designed and built in the spirit of the sports car, naming it the 901 - the original name. Merry 70th Birthday to the @porsche Brand💪 (BTW the straps have embedded inside actual seatbelt from a U.S. 911!) @ahwstudio @therocks (at AHW Studio)

In 1903, a Design Registration (No. 9846) was filed for a ‘watch with handles’. Those ‘handles’ they spoke about are now what we affectionately call ‘wire lugs’. The earliest type of a TRUE WRISTWATCH - NOT a conversion. This @Omega contains that very Registered Design number, in .935 silver. A cultural, historical and social change in not only watchmaking, but world history. Circa WW1🌊🌎🌍🌏 Thanks to David Boettcher and his invaluable information💪

A Modern, Cultural Icon. Switzerland, getting hit hard by the Quartz Crisis had decided to create an answer: the 'Swatch' or - 'Second Watch'. The world's first all-plastic wristwatch was released in 1983 and it indeed was a shock to the industry (perhaps as much as the Quartz technology itself, was?). The idea was 'fun' and 'approachable', and 'affordable', by Nicolas Hayek - The Saviour of the Swiss Wristwatch. What do you think? Compromise or Adaptation? @swatch (at Museum of Contemporary Art Australia)
