Mason Greenwood: Man Utd player arrested over rape claim

Manchester United footballer Mason Greenwood has been arrested on suspicion of rape and assault following allegations on social media.

Greater Manchester Police said it was made aware of "social media images and videos posted by a woman reporting incidents of physical violence".

It added "we can confirm a man in his 20s has since been arrested on suspicion of rape and assault".

He remains in custody for questioning and inquiries are ongoing.

Manchester United earlier said the player would not return to training or matches until further notice.

The club said they "do not condone violence of any kind" and had been made aware of the allegations on social media but would make no further comment until the "facts have been established".

Mason Greenwood has not responded to the social media allegations.

Mystery dog illness - everything we know so far and what symptoms to look out for

 Dog owners have been left worried by reports of a mystery canine illness spreading like 'wildfire' across the UK.

The first incidents of sick animals were seen in the North Yorkshire coast - sparking theories it could be linked to beaches - but the same symptoms have also now been detected inland.

The British Veterinary Association (BVA) says the bug is causing 'uncommonly violent gastroenteritis-like symptoms, while the vet who first reported the illness says she has been 'inundated with cases'.

Rosie Duffield: MP considers leaving Labour over 'obsessive harassment'

An MP has said she is considering her future in the Labour Party after "obsessive harassment" from current and former party members.

Canterbury MP Rosie Duffield claimed in a series of tweets that "personal, libellous, nasty" things had been published about her.

"I have been subjected to this rubbish for years," she said, adding that the Labour Party had offered no support.

The Labour Party has been approached for comment.

Ms Duffield's comments came after claims were made about her in an article written by an anonymous Labour Party member.

James Blunt ‘Threatens’ To Release New Music Onto Spotify, Joins Protest Vs. Joe Rogan Covid-19 Claims

Which one would be the bigger concern for Spotify? No music on its platform from Neil Young and Joni Mitchell? Or more music from James Blunt?

As I covered for Forbes on January 14, over 270 doctors, scientists and other health professionals have signed an “Open Letter to Spotify” stating that “throughout the Covid-19 pandemic, Joe Rogan has repeatedly spread misleading and false claims on his podcast, provoking distrust in science and medicine.” This petition called “on Spotify to immediately establish a clear and public policy to moderate misinformation on its platform.” Of course, these days, it’s not clear how many politicians and businesses may actually listen to real scientists and science.

Well, this past week, at least three prominent members of the music industry have decided to take action and lend their voices to support science. First, Young asked Spotify to remove his songs from their platform because the Spotify podcast The Joe Rogan Experience was “spreading false information about vaccines,” as Zachary Snowdon Smith reported for Forbes.

Then, on January 28, Mitchell posted the following statement on her website: “I’ve decided to remove all my music from Spotify. Irresponsible people are spreading lies that are costing people their lives. While it will not worry Antonio Conte as much, Tanner's rebuff is the latest low point in what has been a miserable January window for Spurs; having also seen Adama Traore and Luis Diaz snub them for Barcelona and Liverpool respectively.

Johnny Knoxville suffered brain damage after ‘Jackass Forever’ stunt

Johnny Knoxville has revealed he suffered brain damage following a stunt with a bull in Jackass Forever.

Knoxville, who makes his final Jackass appearance in the film, said a stunt where he’s knocked into the air by a bull left him with severe injuries, including a broken wrist, broken ribs and a concussion that resulted in a brain haemorrhage.

Speaking about the incident on Howard Stern’s radio show, Knoxville said: “Yeah, I got a brain haemorrhage from that. So my cognitive abilities were in steep decline after that hit.”

Frank Lampard set to land Everton manager’s job

Frank Lampard appears to be closing in on the Everton manager’s job after Wayne Rooney turned down the chance of a return to Goodison Park.

Former Chelsea boss Lampard was reportedly offered the job on Friday night as Everton look to appoint a successor to Rafael Benitez.

Everton have not commented on reports Lampard has been offered the job following the conclusion of their interview process.

Brentford open investigation after Ivan Toney appears to castigate club in video

Brentford have launched an investigation after a video of striker Ivan Toney appearing to say “f*** Brentford” was published on social media.

Toney is thought to be on holiday in Dubai during the Premier League’s winter break.

The 25-year-old has struck six goals in an impressive Premier League campaign so far.

But now the Bees are looking into a video posted on Twitter that could land the former Peterborough United player in hot water with his club.

“Brentford FC are aware of the video and are investigating,” said a club spokesperson.

Brentford boss Thomas Frank accepted an £8,000 fine on Friday, following his red card after the 2-1 Premier League loss to Wolves last weekend.

The Dane was dismissed after the final whistle by Peter Bankes after confronting the referee on the Brentford Community Stadium pitch.
