Quote
There are good photographers who might elevate themselves to the ranks of the great simply by burning most of their work.

The rum had gone straight to my head having run roughshod over the meager fruit and toast meal it found in my stomach. I waited for my body to purge as I hid in the bathroom from the criminal element in the other room. My so-called friends had been feeding me booze with a recklessness that told me I was being sacrificed for the sake of a fun night. In the haze that develops when your face is on cool tile and you are begging for an immediate trip to your comfy bed, I noticed that I had been sitting directly across from a time-space portal to the fertile savannahs of Africa. Although that seemed the perfect escape, I knew I was in no state to jump through. I would never be able to outrun a rhino like this. So I took this picture knowing no one would believe me. I was right, of course, for I have never been able to find the portal since.
