Justin bated his breath, abiding the reaction he would receive after divulging his explanation behind the reasoning of his sudden reappearance after being proclaimed dead. He had been conscientious and forthright in his elucidation, yet he could not shake the feeling of apprehension over whether or not Eilonwy would react positively to his humble allegory. She was clutching and hanging onto his person as if she was frightened of letting him out of her embrace like she had on the dock months back, only to have him abscond into the abyss. But then her hands threaded themselves into his hair and he was a abruptly so overcome with rapturous sensation that he was coerced into shutting his eyes, an astral sigh escaping from his parted lips. As a result, he did not see the princess's advancing lips until they were pressed firm against his own and his eyes flew open in instant incredulity. The hands resting on her lower back flexed at the thin, dilapidated material of her dress, his lips stationary before they became pliant and ardently moved against her mouth. The extent of the passion and fireworks that detonated between them turned Justin breathless and it was like they had never separated, never vacillated. The sheer palatableness of Eilonwy's lips wasn't like any candy or dessert, but something inherently Eilonwy that made Justin's heart constrict in his chest. Strong arms wrapped around her narrow waist, aiming to keep her as close to him as humanly possible. Five months plus since he had last tasted those lips, since he had last had her in his arms, since he had physically loved her. It was like being given water after months wandering around in the dessert, dehydrated and wanting. And now he couldn't get enough. It was never enough. Every kiss was like the first for them. And when her lips parted, he emitted a soft gasp and dipped his tongue inside. That sweetness he could taste before was more intense here, like she's made of pure sugar,as he explored, lapping at her tongue with his own and licks long, slow strokes into his mouth. They kissed like that until their chests are heaving from lack of air but neither seem to care at that present moment because they're here and together and kissing in such a way that was not fit for public eye.
Those piercing azure eyes were so different than the ones he had looked into only moments ago. These eyes looking so intensely into his own were not of the same girl for these did not resemble the color of frigid ice but rather the deepest, most intermediate center of a blazing fire. Bright, incandescent and containing a gleam of something that Justin could not place an alias to. It wasn't until those three simplistic words strung together to make a sentence so confounding, so exquisite that it had been the downfall and climaxes of so many legends and tales expressed over time, that the description that evaded Justin came into fruition. Love. Unfathomable, fanatical, passionate, uncharted love. The feeling that had been Justin's guiding light out of the atramentous dark and into the resplendent light of home again. Words that had been released from his lips in numerous quantities while on his voyage with the lingering fear of the possibility that Eilonwy would never hear them spoken in his caressing whisper. If there had been any rooted doubts left ingrained into the deep recesses of his mind, they all vanished the moment Eilonwy's murmur of devotion left her red, kiss swollen lips.
The chiming of the clock that signaled noon went off and echoed around the vacant room as the sun peeked from behind a lone cloud in the sky and shined through the windows lining the eastern walls of the ballroom, bathing them in warm, yellow light. Justin observed in awe how the light only seemed to set fire to Eilonwy's already sparking eyes and lifted a solitary hand to lightly trail the back of his index finger over the pale skin that stretched over her cheekbone and jaw. He took in every detail of her features, opening the floodgates to his pent up emotions and let them wash over him in sweet relief.
"Eilonwy...All my life I've searched for adventure and contingencies. I thought that life was either a daring venture or nothing at all. But I've come to the realization over these past few months that...that adventure is not just outside of man but within. And I've come to realize just how foolish I truly was. For you are and forever will be the greatest adventure I've ever had." Justin paused and took in a deep breath to steady his trembling voice before continuing on. "I surrender who I was to who you are. Because I don't want to go back to that impaired, naive way of thinking again. I'm giving you all of me. For as long as you will have me."
And with one final intake of breath, Justin finally recited the words that had haunted him for months.
"I love you, Eilonwy." He pronounced, his voice overwrought with emotion and just plain love and adoration. The words with the addition of her melodic name sounded so right and so impeccable on his tongue that the simple phrase had made him devoid of all breath and reservations. "We were only ever a love story." he whispered, his forehead leaning against Eilonwy's.
The Return || @Justin
Justin had not been sure what propriety he had been apprehending when their first encounter after so many months had finally occurred. It was a topic that had been on top of all his other vexations. Would she be choleric at him for having departed from her side in the first place? Or would she be so overcome with poignancy that she could not comprehend his presence and separate dream from reality like he himself had done when he had first laid eyes on her? Did she even care for him as she had before or had she cast him aside for some other man, convinced that Justin would never return to her arms? And worse of them all; was she lost to this world with nothing to leave him but the mere, torturous memory of her melodic laugh, smile, poise and sensual scent? But in this one juncture, all of those agnosticisms seemed to fall to dust and away from his conscious and heart. He didn’t hesitate to wrap his arms around her in such a possessive and penurious embrace, as if she, too, would fall to dust around him. Her body fit so perfectly against his own, like a puzzle, that the air was very nearly knocked out of him. He could feel her beating heart thumping so close to his, their necklaces tangling together as if to increase the connection between them. It was like two souls finding their way back to one another.
But it was her scent that had done him in as he buried his face into her long, soft hair, beleaguering himself in the smell of pine, wildflowers, and something else that he could not diagnosticate. Something redolent and wild that could only be pure Eilonwy. It was encompassing him and making him more vertiginous than any rocking vessel on a restless sea ever did, ever could. And hearing her voice pronounce and deliver the syllables of his name in such harmony sounded like home and he felt his heart beat harder each time it was verbalized.
All too soon, he felt her pull away from him but he kept his arms wrapped securely around her lower back, refusing to disentangle himself from her warmth after so many months trapped in ice. The tears that plummeted down her smooth, alabaster skin made his heart ache in pure transgression. He would never grant himself forgiveness for having left her, putting her in such a state that could be blamed on no one but himself. He leaned down and gently kissed each one of her descending tears before pulling back and looking into those mesmerizing, lugubrious eyes. “I was never among the deceased, my love. I was only assumed and pronounced dead as a result of my prolonged and unexplained absence. My crew and I were cruelly knocked off course in an abhorrent storm that killed many of my lionhearted comrades and men. We have been searching for our way home ever since.” A paltry smile lifted the corners of his lips in a blithe smile and cast his eyes downwards for only a moment before his body physically protested for having looked away from her face so soon and inopportune a moment.

He cringed inwardly at the sound of his voice breaking the quiescence of the room, at how broken and hard it had sounded. But it seemed to break through all the fluctuation and doubt that had tainted her illustrious appearance. And then each clack of Eilonwy's shoes against the smooth metal of the floor that oscillated around the room only accredited the authenticity that she was really here. That she was not just a figment of his own pernicious mind that he had so injudiciously thought before. His eyes trailed down her body, taking her all in as he took note of the tattered gown that was adorning her small frame and was brought back to the very first memory he had of her. Their first meeting was nothing more than an inconvenient vexation on her part. He remembered the way she had gazed upon him with nothing but disdain and annoyance at having been dragged to his palace at so an inopportune moment. But it did not phase him now, for he had seen those hardened eyes soften in only his presence. Had felt the way her body seemed to melt in his embrace and the way the simple press of his lips had felt so right on hers.
He felt his heart break even further when the bright blue eyes he had dreamed of were now dark and shrouded in shadows like his own. How much suffering had he put her through because of his untimely dissolution. But he could swear he saw the beginnings of light sparkle in the back of her eyes, as if seeing him was starting to make the sun rise in her eyes once more. He could do nothing, say nothing, while Eilonwy bravely untied his hair, which he had not bothered to cut since his return to Ingary, and touched his face. The simple touch had seemed so foreign yet so habitual and prosaic. His eyes threatened to flutter shut at the contact but he couldn't miss a single moment of this reunion. He noticed the imperceptible shake of her head, as if she couldn't believe this anymore than he could and smiled ever so slightly.
But it wasn't until her voice had escaped from her lips once again that he completely surrendered himself over. His eyes stayed trained on her mouth as her lips formed to stutter out his name and a solitary tear fell from the corner of his eye to match Eilonwy's. With a shaky hand, he moved his limb to reciprocate her touch and pushed away the auburn bangs and rest on the side of her face. He lingered there, attempting to take control of his voice before trying to speak again. "It's really me." He finally announced knowing that she, along with the rest of the kingdom, had though he had long been deceased.

Justin's introspections were deferred at the sound of an achingly familiar, melodic voice. A voice that had long haunted the deep recesses of his mind and spilled over into his dreams late at night. He stood frozen in place as meaningless apologies drifted through the air and resonated in his ears, acting as his own personal torture. How many times had Justin imagined the sound of Eilonwy's voice in empty corridors and in this very space that he was currently residing in? No, this was surely another merciless trick played upon him by his own mind. But none-the-less, his hand anchored on the moon around his neck out of habit.
But he had heard the unmistakable sound of the door creaking into the silence mere moments before the phantom of a voice had spoken. That had never been a trick his mind had played on him before. So with a deep, mournful sigh he turned around to greet his unexpected visitor. The breath in his throat hitched, and his eyes grew wide in their sockets, his mouth parting just slightly at the sight that was really an unexpected image. A long, red locked woman with guarded blue eyes and a surprised disposition. He felt like he had been transported into a dream state as the sight presented in front of him was one of complete and utter perfection and loveliness that it could not be real life. He wanted to blink the obviously fake image away, wanted to pinch himself awake to end the repartee but he couldn't move. He was transfixed, his throat closed off causing no words to escape.
But this was no joke, no fake picture. He couldn't will it away and his heart was beating hard against his chest as if it was trying to get closer the woman in front of him but would instead fall to the floor at his feet. His hand inched to reach out and caress the smooth canvas of her skin and make sure the image wouldn't fall to dust like it had so many times in the past when he had attempted to touch a false representation. His hand clutched the necklace around his neck hard enough for the points to draw blood but he felt numb to all other physical pain, as if the emotions surging through him were already too much for his body to handle. He wanted to whisper the name out and release the pent up energy that was building and building in his chest. The name that echoed in his mind over and over and over; enough to drive a person mad.
Eilonwy, Eilonwy, Eilonwy, Eilonwy Eilonwy, "Eilonwy..."
The Return || @Justin
Ellie noticed her friend’s hesitation and a bereaved smile graced her lips. She knew her precious ballroom was a sacred place for Justin and Eilonwy. Had guessed as much when Justin spent the majority of his time in there after he had returned from his devastating excursion. And his hesitation and lackluster reaction to dancing with Ellie when she had caught him visiting it had only confirmed her theory. She took Eilonwy’s hand in her own and squeezed gently, trying to convey her understanding of her averseness as the two ladies made their way steadily to their designation.
When they had arrived to the large, intricate gold and silver doors that would open to the ballroom, Ellie stopped and turned to face the young woman. “I’m going to leave you now, okay, dear? I think this is something that you need to do yourself.” she expressed in a lenient voice. At the inquisitive look on Eilonwy’s face she simply leaned in and pressed a kiss to both her cheeks and patted her hand comfortingly. “Trust me, okay? You’ll see.” And with one final smile she meandered away, leaving Eilonwy alone.
Meanwhile, Prince Justin was standing in the very center of the ballroom, his hands clasped behind his back. He was not adorned in his usual bright yellow attire. In fact, Justin had not been wearing his usual attire ever since he had returned from sea. While he pretty much still had his bright and convivial disposition, a lot had changed. He was currently adorned in a wine red velvet coat, his high, white collar peeking out from underneath. His blond hair was not in its usual chin length cut but instead down past his shoulders, which was tied back at the nape of his neck with a deep red ribbon. His posture was still tall and straight but with a noticeable strain in his shoulders, as if he had the entire world sitting on them. His eyes, while they used to be a bright and shining blue, was now clouded and had a lost look to them, as if he had been looking for something or someone he had yet to find.
A sigh escaped from the confides of his lips as he turned away from the entrance and faced the windows lining the wall. He had been spending most of his days in here, reliving the moments that had been the happiest in his life. While before all he saw when he came in here was the architecture and intricate details of the walls and chandelier and windows, now all he saw was the distant memory of him and Eilonwy dancing forever in circles. Smiling and laughing and losing all sense of time and space. As if it didn’t even exist when they were in each others presence. However as Justin stared up at the clock hanging on the wall and watched as the second hand ticked ticked ticked away he was overcome by wave of tribulation. He had been so long since he had last laid eyes on the love of his life. Three months while he was away at sea and even more since he had returned and each passing day became harder than before. He wanted to go and search for her but his mother and father had advised otherwise despite his protests so he only hoped that she would find her own way back to him
He would probably wait forever.
