she cocked her head to the side as she said this of course, hands together. it was an act, naturally. she just wanted to see what would happen if he took her seriously or not - some teenagers were smarter than others. some were just like her ... in some respects. not every; they definitely did not share the DARKNESS that dredged beneath the depths of her heart, clawing its way out on occasion whenever it felt HUNGRY for a kill. while some may claimed to have felt the same way, well...

she smiled, still - the sweetest, most adorable smile she could muster ( she’s practiced it in the mirror, believe her ! ) as she stared at him intently from in front of his desk. whether there was a darkstalker or not in this school was irrelevant right then. she’d find it, no problem. but right now ... this kid caught her attention. so plain, so ... unremarkable. she just had to know what it was like! 

“ some ‘a the girls called ya ... wha’ was it ... “ she stopped, brow creasing in concern, appearing to look genuine as she struggled to recall that terrible word that had been uttered. her eyes suddenly lit up in feigned recognition. she’d always had the word on the tip of her tongue. it was why she had approached him in the first place. 

“ safe! tha’ was it! tha’ you, morty smith, ‘re safe. never met someone tha’ was considered safe before... ‘s weird! what’s it like? bein’ safe ? ‘cause i’ll bet that’s a real mean thing t’ hear be said ‘bout you. “

she can be frank with her fellow fighters, and her fellow hunters. but she says it with the brightest smile, and the most sparkling of eyes, that most would only see her as girlishly sincere. naive perhaps, as though she had read the term on the internet and had been told it meant one thing - and simply went along with it.

but she knew better, of course. that made dealing with people so much fun. 

she circled him, taking cautious steps the way a child would - innocently investigating something that caught their attention. the katana blades, especially. she knew their name, but just to mess with him, she’d call them something they weren’t supposed to be called. that really sent nerds flying off the handle.

“ ‘cause that’s wha’ ya are, right ? losers ? someone told me that on the internet, aaand ... i dunno ! always though’ it was true . i can tell caus’a the swords. ‘pparently, tha’s a sign tha’ you’re one of ‘em - a wee-a-boo. “

yes, this was one of the legendary darkstalkers that had eluded her time and time again. one of the very same with an incredible bounty on her head - MORRIGAN AENSLAND, queen of the succubi, ruler of makai itself. but right now, morrigan wasn’t at the top of her list, despite the CRAVING she had for her head ( stuck to a stake, impaled on a pike, with that liquid that she supposedly contained within OOZING OUT on the metal ). no. that honor belonged to one DIMITRI MAXIMOFF ... but she did enjoy a little chat with her targets.
