UPDATE

Currently this blog is on a partial hiatus.

I'm really sorry but I just haven't been up to playing FFXIV; it lost a lot of what made me love it and I frustrated myself for almost a year trying to power through. Then I went and played other games and was having more fun, so much fun I'm currently 70k words deep into an Elder Scrolls longfic, which is more words than I've ever written for any fandom.

So. For now, that's how it is. This is still my FFXIV quarantine zone so any reblogs will happen over here, but it'll likely be a while before I make any more gposes or mods. In the meantime, if you'd like to stick around, you can find me at @akira-kelle .

So, my family all play the critically acclaimed mmorpg Final Fantasy XIV with free trial up to Stormblood and level 70 with no restrictions! And the dungeons in DT gave my sister seizures and we haven't been able to play since. She's still recovering. In the meantime, I have acquired Easy Eyes and I've been hammering away at the dungeons and trials of DawnTrail to make this shit actually safer for her to play. And obviously I'm finna share that hard work with all the migraineurs and epileptics that want to get through the game.

My plan is to work backwards (I started on the EW dungeons today) and get all the dungeons and trials safer. The norm and alliance raids are gonna take A While, mostly because I have to run them with people instead of the trust and there's so many more effects to sort through.

In the meantime, if you didn't know, EasyEyes is a plugin for Dalamud (ie it's a mod). You can import presets into it to block all the vfx in the preset without having to run the duty and manually block everything yourself. That's obviously not safe, hence me doing it. You can find it on xma (Safer DT Dungeons and Trials). It's a zip folder with each dungeon and trial labelled as individual presets. You just have to hit import and pick them, super easy.

Please be aware that it's super difficult to turn off vfx in the background, and I left a lot of small vfx untouched for aesthetic, but I very much took out everything glaringly obvious, or that my sister explicitly complained about, and more. Some of the vfx turned off are going to make it harder for you to position yourself to avoid attacks, so please keep that in mind, but safety trumps a healer's feelings!

I'll post each expac as I finish them and I sincerely hope more people are able to get back into the game because of my work.

AGING GRACEFULLY IS READY!

!!!DOWNLOAD HERE!!! Aging Gracefully for all Midlander-based Races is DONE! I started working on this mod seriously last December but it's taken more time than that to complete and I've went through so much in the process. But, I've come out the other end knowing that I really enjoy this kind of modding work. Please, if you enjoy it and want to support me, consider commissioning me. I already have a ~secret project~ lined up that will be a good companion to this mod and would love to take on more, especially since my rent will be increasing in the new year. It would suck to finally finish this and then not actually be able to play the game because I have to double up on jobs or focus on downsizing. I'd like to actually, you know, complete Stormblood sometime soon now that this massive project is over. I've really appreciated everyone's patience and support as I've worked on it. All the individuals who reached out to test each race as I finished with them, and offered feedback and critique- I appreciate you guys so much. I go into this more in the description, but the dev files are entirely non-destructive and should be very easy to mess with. I include instructions for making adjustments to the normal maps as well, since they're a little less straightforward than the diffuse maps. I can't wait to see how it looks on all your characters! You know its kind of weird being in the fandom per se but also being out of the loop. Its nice and quiet but then you find out weird shit like, they advertised an FFXIV night club using the bottom of the Golden Gate Bridge or some guy named James McDingdong on *throws a dart* Diabolos was just arrested and sentenced for 17 years of manual labor after he was busted for some kind of minor erp ring or Sire Jaxounouxnoux de Emetilililililiel of the *throws dart* Golem server who was writing really good stories with everyone was outed as an abusive asshole and now the entire community is black listing him or Miss Kitty Whitepaw of *throws dart* The Goblin server just changed the name of her characters again, make sure to blacklist the new list of her twenty-seven cat girls because she fetishizes African-American men and also has some tinfoil hat things going on or Bob from Accounting on *throws dart* Odin just had a kid.

I basically had only 5 out of 30 days to work on this since I had to work on other projects. Still proud of this :)

Once upon a time, there was a god who wasn't a god, and a sky full of Light, and a princess who wasn't a princess, and a magic Tower with a secret.

When Seika Valeriant runs away from the goddess Hydaelyn - whose cause she had sworn to serve with her hero's gifts - she doesn't have a plan of any sort beyond the desire to get away and the knowledge that she can never go home to the kingdom she was raised in. Stumbling on an ancient, rumor-shrouded mage's tower made of crystal in the ruins of an abandoned city is a stroke of luck she doesn't expect. That the Tower known for the simple fact that no one has ever set foot inside it and lived to tell the tale is both alive and willing to protect her, she would almost call a godsend…if that didn't mean invoking the very force she fled from.

But the Tower's soul, who calls himself only the Exarch, seems to know something about Hydaelyn, and the world itself, that Seika doesn't, and his reluctance to speak of the oddities she keeps finding in her explorations of the Tower is a constant source of tension. And when that tension breaks, it could spell doom not just for Seika, but for the Exarch and his Tower as well…
