How can people be so obsessed with a character??? It's remarkable! Like tell me! I already have no ideas anymore for Cypher. The only thing in my mind is the russian sweet boy Sova and a little bit Omen.

Okay, but some folks around the corners of the internet be like: "you can't ship cyfade, the age gap is preposterous!" seconds before rambling how great fadeshock is.
Look, according to most estimates I've seen, Fade's age is estimated mid twenties to mid thirties.
Cypher is somewhere between mid thirties to early forties.
I see how at some extremes that can be a bit of a gap but you guys
Neon is canonically a TEENAGER.
You honestly swear to go down with this ship?
Then drown.

A Game of Hearts and Minds
Tumblr media
Cypher x Reader
Cypher invited you to a little chess date eventhough it is only an excuse to spend some time together
genre: fluff word count: 500+ words
As the Valorant agents were out training for their next mission, Cypher invited a you to a chess date in the training area. You were surprised by the invitation but excited nonetheless.
He set up the chessboard on a small table in the corner of the room, away from the noise and action of the training area. As the two of you started playing, you found yourself getting lost in the game, focusing intently on the board and the moves you were making.
Cypher was a formidable opponent, but you were holding your own, your mind racing with possible moves and strategies. As you played, you couldn't help but feel a sense of admiration for him. He was so focused, so precise in everything he did. It was inspiring, in a way.
After a few intense rounds of play, Cypher leaned back in his chair, a small smile playing on his lips behind his mask. "You're good," he said, his voice low.
You blushed, feeling a sense of pride at the compliment. "Thanks," you said, trying to hide the smile on your own lips.
You continued playing, your concentration broken only by occasional small talk and teasing banter. You found yourself enjoying the conversation almost as much as the game itself. Cypher was surprisingly easy to talk to when he wanted to be, and you felt yourself opening up to him more than you had to anyone else in the team.
As the game drew to a close, you found yourself in a difficult position. You had only a few moves left, and Cypher had you in checkmate. You looked up at him, a mix of frustration and admiration in your eyes.
"You're much better than me," you said in a voice of awe and defeat.
Cypher leaned forward, you could fell a small smirk behind his mask. "It's just a game, habibi" he said, but you could see the glint of challenge in his eyes.
You took a deep breath and made your final moves, grinning triumphantly as you put him in checkmate. Cypher leaned back, looking both impressed and amused.
"Well done," he said, his voice a mixture of sincerity and playful teasing.
You felt a sense of pride and happiness swell within you. It wasn't just that you had won the game - it was the fact that you had been able to hold your own against Cypher, that you had been able to connect with him in a way you hadn't before.
As you packed up the chessboard and prepared to leave the training area, Cypher couldn't help but feel a sense of contentment wash over him. He had let you win the game, but it didn't matter. Being in your company was all that he needed.
As he walked beside you towards the exit, playing with the white king between his fingers, he stole a quick glance at you. He couldn't help but think how thankful he was to have met you. He knew he couldn't let his feelings get in the way of their work, but the thought of being with you lingered in his mind.
As he gazed down at the chess figure in his hand, he realized with a sinking feeling that his heart had become a slave to his desire, just like the king he held, defeated and powerless to resist.

A Surprising Cup of Tea
Tumblr media
its a really short oneshot, but I really am a sucker for small intimacy moments with ma cypher boi.
genre: fluff word count: 340+ words
You couldn't help but admire the elegance with which Cypher prepared his Maghrebi mint tea. It was one of the most expensive teas in the world, and he had somehow managed to acquire it for his personal enjoyment. You had always been curious about it, and as luck would have it, he had offered to share it with you.
"Would you like a taste?" he asked, holding out the delicate teacup.
You nodded eagerly and took the cup from him, trying your best to emulate his graceful movements. However, as soon as the hot liquid touched your lips, you couldn't help but let out a yelp of pain. You had burnt yourself on the first sip.
Cypher's blue eyes widened in concern as he took the cup from your trembling hand. "Are you okay?" he asked, setting the cup aside and taking your hand in his. "Let me take a look."
You nodded, feeling a little embarrassed about your clumsiness. But as he inspected your burnt lip, you couldn't help but notice how close he was to you. His eyes seemed to be searching yours, and you felt a sudden urge to lean in closer to him.
Without warning, he partially removed his mask and leaned in to gently kiss your burnt lip. You could feel his warm breath on your skin and the hint of mint from the tea. It sent shivers down your spine. As he pulled away, you could see a small smirk on his lips.
"Better?" he asked, his voice soft and caring.
You nodded, feeling a strange mixture of emotions. It was as if in that moment, you had discovered something new about Cypher. He wasn't just a stoic, emotionless agent - he was capable of tenderness and affection.
As you sat there, your face turning red, savoring the taste of the tea and the feeling of Cypher's lips on yours, you couldn't help but feel grateful for this unexpected moment of intimacy. It was a reminder that even in the midst of danger and chaos, there was still room for love and connection.

Tea Time (Gender Neutral)
Cypher x Reader (fluff)
Words: 925
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
You and Cypher have a little tradition after missions. It was always to grab tea that was native to the area you went to, come back to the base, sit down, drink tea, and talk. This helped Cypher a lot since he is always on edge about his family, and you were always happy to listen to his rambling about his life or the mission you two just went on together.
Your most recent mission with Cypher was at Lotus in southern India. You both geeked out a bit when you found out you were going there due to the fact that India has good spices and teas. Immediately after the mission was over, you took Cyphers arm in excitement and rushed to the nearest local market. Your eyes sparkled as they wandered over the vast amount of spices and teas. Cypher let out a chuckle and removes your hands from his arm.
“Shall we (Y/N)? You get to pick this time.” He starts to walk away looking at all the different stalls not noticing the small blush on your cheeks.
“Sounds good!” You say following his actions and looking at different stalls. Each one was very unique and different. Some selling Indian cuisine, others selling fabrics and jewels. Your eyes gaze over all the options but ultimately stop at a small spice stand. You clap your hands together excitedly (like the gremlin you are) and rush over. Cypher looks back and sees you giddy over the spice stand and laughs a heart felt laugh and walks over to you.
You gawk at the different colors and textures of the powders and chunks of different spices. Some you could point out like cinnamon, lemongrass, or jasmine. Others, you had no clue. But that’s why you’re here right? To try new things. You also noticed the stall had a metal pot to make the tea in and give to you. The merchant looked at you, expecting you to know what you are doing. However, the puzzled look on your face gave everything away. The merchant chuckled a bit and spoke up.
“New to the area?” He asks. You look up your eyes wide still trying to comprehend the aroma you are smelling right now. You give him a small, polite smile.
“Actually I’m here on vacation. My friend and I usually try teas from around the world and I haven’t tried any from India yet. Any suggestions?” You ask hoping he gives you a good tea. He nods in understanding and gives you a smile.
“I see, one moment.” He says as he starts to rummage around grabbing all his ingredients. Cypher is behind you watching the merchant doing his craft. You stare in awe as he skillfully grabs black tea leaves places them in the pot, adds water, and lights the flame underneath to boil the water. He then grabs cardamom pods, cloves, fennel seeds, black pepper corn, nutmeg, star flower, and cinnamon and places it into a mortar and pestle and grinds it into a fine powder. You take note of the tea he used and all the spices so you can ask for some to go.
Once the water is boiled and the tea is done steeping, he adds in the spice powder, sugar, milk, and ginger and mixes it up. He then strains the mixture into two separate cups and gives them to you and cypher. You excitedly take the cup, looking at the light brown liquid. Cypher takes his and seems uneasy. He doesn’t want to remove his mask to drink it but shrugs his shoulders in defeat and lifts up his mask only up to his upper lip. You take a small sip and moan in delight as the flavors of the tea dance around your tongue. Cypher hums in delight as his body almost melts. As you relish in the tea, the merchant speaks.
“It is called masala chai. A very popular drink in India. I hope you enjoy.” He smiles. You widely grin back at him and thank him for the tea. Cypher gives you his cup to hold and asks for the dry spices. The merchant obliges and gives cypher all the ingredients he needs to recreate this chai. Cypher pays for both of the drinks and spices and grabbed your arm to walk around the market more.
A few days later, you two were back at valorant base. You and Cypher go to his workshop and make quick work if recreating the chai. You start to grind the spices together as Cypher boils the black tea. You both add the ginger, milk, and sugar and stare at the liquid gold in awe. You give him a wide smile and pull out your regular tea mugs. “Ready to relive that amazing tea experience?” You ask as you strain the tea into both mugs. Cypher removes his mask and takes his mug.
“Definitely.” He gives you a smile and walks to the small table in the middle of the room. You quickly follow and sit down across from him like you usually do. You both savor the aroma steaming from your mugs. You take a small sip, and are instantly transported back to the little market in India. You moan as the flavors dance on your tongue like they did in the market. Cypher let’s out a satisfied hum.
“Good choice little one. You may have beat the last tea we got.” He says as he continues to drink his cup. You nod, savoring the moment between friends.
Cypher's Feline Companion
Tumblr media
first fanfiction i guess, idk where to start, but here's a short story about how Cypher is not lonely after all, despite everything that has happened to him.
genre: fluff word count: 500+ words
Cypher had always been a solitary figure. He preferred to work alone, relying on his advanced technology and surveillance skills to outmaneuver his opponents. But there was one thing that could make him break his self-imposed isolation: the little stray cat that had taken up residence in the alley behind his apartment building.
At first, Cypher had tried to ignore the cat. He had no interest in taking care of a pet, and he certainly didn't want to get attached to something that could distract him from his work. But the cat was persistent, and it didn't take long for Cypher to realize that he had developed a soft spot for the little creature.
He started leaving out bowls of water and scraps of food for the cat, and before long, the animal had become a regular visitor to his back door. Cypher found himself looking forward to the cat's visits, and he even started talking to it, telling it about his day and asking it for its opinion on his latest gadget he has been working on.
One day, as Cypher was sitting on his back stoop, the cat approached him with something in its mouth. Cypher frowned, wondering if the animal had brought him a dead mouse or bird. But as the cat dropped the object at his feet, Cypher realized with a start that it was a small, handmade toy.
He picked up the toy, examining it closely. It was a little felt mouse, stuffed with cotton and decorated with colorful embroidery. Cypher couldn't help but smile at the sight of it. He looked up at the cat, who was sitting expectantly in front of him, purring softly.
"You made this for me, didn't you?" he said, stroking the cat's head. "Thank you, little one. It's beautiful."
From that day forward, Cypher's relationship with the cat changed. He started thinking of it as a companion, rather than just a stray that happened to wander into his life. He began taking more breaks from his work to play with the cat, and he even started buying it proper cat food and toys.
As time went on, Cypher found that his connection to the cat had helped him in unexpected ways. He felt less alone, less isolated, and more in touch with his own emotions. He even started to open up to his fellow agents, sharing a bit more of himself.
And through it all, the little cat remained a constant presence in his life. It curled up on his lap while he worked, chased after the toys he threw for it, and purred contentedly while he stroked its fur. Cypher had never been one for sentimentality, but he couldn't deny the warmth and happiness that the cat had brought into his life.
As he sat on his back stoop one sunny afternoon, watching the cat roll around in a patch of sunlight, Cypher couldn't help but think that maybe, just maybe, he wasn't as alone in the world as he had once thought.
