I had a blast creating this piece. This painting showcases a stylized bust with a geometric, abstract pattern. The figure is segmented into bold, colorful sections, predominantly featuring shades of yellow and purple. The contrast between light and dark areas generates a striking three-dimensional effect. Had to do a retouch on this……I chose to paint Yosemite's Half Dome as one of my first oil painting projects. It's definitely a work in progress, and I know it might not turn out exactly as I envisioned, but I wanted to challenge myself with something detailed and full of vibrant colors. I still have a lot to learn and practice, but it was worth giving it a try!

I also wanted to paint the stunning Yosemite National Park as a tribute to the dedicated federal employees who work tirelessly to maintain and preserve our beautiful national parks. Their daily efforts ensure that we have access to these breathtaking landscapes, allowing us to create cherished memories with friends, family, and loved ones.

When I look at this pastel painting, I'm struck by the sense of expressive movement and energy I was able to capture, drawing clear inspiration from Ernst Ludwig Kirchner's iconic Winter Landscape in Moonlight. I used bold, gestural brushstrokes and a vibrant color palette to create a truly dynamic and abstracted representation of a winter scene.
