Sillery Gaon - A Fanciful Hamlet In The Kalimpong District
Sillery Gaon is a small village in the Kalimpong district of the state of West Bengal with a breathtaking view of the mighty Kanchenjunga and pristine nature. The Silk Route or often termed as Silk Road is a historic route connecting Asia, Europe, and Africa that were for centuries the central for interactions and trade. Its expansion is 6,500 km from the Asian continent to the Korean peninsula and Japan to the Mediterranean Sea.

Sikkim has a stretch of this antique trade route which starts from Lhasa, crosses Chumbi Valley, passes through NathuLa Pass and meets the port of Tamralipta which is now known as Tamluk in West Bengal.
