As a 17 (soon to be 18) year old senior, you are anxiously awaiting for the day you graduate, pack your bags, and ditch Sunnyview, the sleepy, incredibly boring, town that you have grown up in all your life. It has been your dream for as long as you can remember—sometimes you can almost taste freedom on your tongue, so close yet so far away.

But one day, all of that changes when the filming for a movie is announced near your hometown. Not only is it a Stephen Zuckerberg, but it stars the recent award-winning actor Taylor Victory. Their presence stirs great interest and excitement in your small town. You did not care much about the actor beyond your keen interest in Stephen Zuckerberg movies, or at least, you thought you did not.

Until you have a chance encounter with the one and only Taylor Victory, and you notice the eerie facial similarities you share with them. Thus, a deal is struck between you.

You will swap places with each other—Taylor will experience a normal week of high school as you, and you will live the life of an actor in their place. Plus, their offer of money doesn't quite hurt, and with it you would have enough to leave Sunnyview.

During their time at Camp Overlook, they’ve developed a good amount of friendships since their time attending as any impressionable young child. Though those friendships were a struggle to keep up during the school years, with only a few still kept in contact, and even fewer were in their close circle. Though that doesn’t mean they aren’t open to new connections! Even with those that are quite…odd.

With their new job as camp counselor, Noa takes it as a new learning experience before they eventually have to move away from Crescent Cove for college, wanting to make at least a huge impact into what they consider a nostalgic package of memories. Which also means tying up the loose ends that, to this very day, sends shivers down their spine. Along with confronting other stressful situations like managing very active middle schoolers and possible murders!! (Wait what?)

It was no secret that even Noa, no matter how friendly they are with others, has a secret displeasure for certain folks of Camp Overlook even if they can never admit it to themselves or to others. It was childish of them to hold onto those impressions even to present day, but it didn’t seem like a bad idea at the time (probably considered safe too) until the worst comes to fruition during a seemingly simple camp exercise and those were thrown OUT the window. Because while they were never afraid of ghost stories or anything horror related in general, they’d rather spend an entire week cooped up with W than face some kind of weird paranormal serial killer out for them and the kids-

Eccentric & moody, Orion can often be considered to be a jack of all trades underneath that happy-go-lucky jokester of a teenager. Calculative yet chaotic, gentle yet abrasive, depending on the time of day you can get an array of behaviors, with some being more secretive than others...

When out and about on missions, Orion always remains focused on the job, making sure to carry out the task as discreet as possible. Their mind akin to a hunter out on the open season, which is ironic considering their heavy dislike of "open season", and hopefully coming back with at least less that 3-4 casualties on the way. Even if sometimes the messes they have made are less than ideal-

Once in the (albeit) comfy halls of the facility, they always come back with a relaxed smile or cheeky grin whether they're ready to crash onto their bed or spend the rest of the day doing other hobbies to past the time. Appearing more like your run-of-the-mill adolescent that wasn't experimented and trained to be a government super soldier.

Despite their seemingly naive demeanor, Orion is anything BUT that. Because like every other S. P. U. member, they've got their own small secrets, despite being probably one of the most genuine members of the team and having very little to actually hide. As much as they don't like to hide such things, some things are better left kept under a lock with how much information they've gotten hold. Information that....maybe they shouldn't have been privy to in the first place.

Other trivia:

Orion has a special affinity for constellations (thus the codename), so much so that they used it as guides in the night sky if they ever lost communication with their teammates

They tend to wear longer sleeves outside of the facility (or just the outside in general) due to their albinism....and because they refuse to use sunscreen as a child-

Likes to make their own accessories out of stuff they found from their missions to ease their boredom

Has a rather nice singing voice but mainly whistles to themselves or when on the mission, though when they do sing it's often reserved to their close friends/family figures

Due to their ability to often hyoerfocus, they developed a habit of always standing/sitting still with their eyes always moving with the person or object they set their eyes on (like a cat following a finger)

Tends to style their hair from time to time (mainly Prim) and likes to style their teammates hair as well, if they allow it of course! (though the results are mostly of the joking sense instead of actually styling it)

Despite their rather carefree and seemingly oblivious attitude, they are actually quite easy to fluster. Will they admit to it? Oh never, though it shows every damn time-

While they may not admit it, deep down Orion wishes to experience life as a normal teenager even for just a little while; but with the pressure of being a literal soldier for the government they keep that desire DEEPLY buried, for now they outlive it through the amount of YA novels they've read (which are probably not the best for imaging "normal circumstances" but a guy/girl/kid can dream 🤷‍♀️)

'Return to Misty Cove' is a horror/mystery Interactive Fiction game that is inspired by Scooby-Doo, The Works of Stephen King, and H.P. Lovecraft. This work will be rated 17+ for gore, violence, swearing, death, and body horror, that might not be suitable for everyone.

RO's & Other Major Characters

Cameron "Cam" Morris (M/F) [RO]- Tech-savvy and mechanically minded, Cam is currently working as a mechanic after you and your group broke up, they are currently going to grad school for mechanical engineering, and still sends postcards and pictures to you. They are likely the sweetest person you have ever met, even if sometimes they are too kind to people who don't deserve it. Out of the four of you, Cam was always the one who needed to do what was right, no matter the cost to their self.

Ollie Cohen-Reyes (NB) [RO]- Ollie has always been interested in macabre and strange, spending hours researching in the library any and every topic they were interested in. They get along with very few people, but once they are able to get close with others it becomes easier, and they become sarcastic and witty, and feel less uncomfortable talking about their interests freely. They work as an adjunct professor in forensic anthropology.

Rose/Rory Thompson(M/F) [RO]- They are a loyal person, first and foremost. When the group broke up they somewhat lost their purpose, but they ended up settling and working as a bartender in Misty Cove. Having taken boxing and self-defense classes from a young age due to their paranoid parents, R was always the best when it came to physical confrontation with the cases you investigated, even if outside of this they never seemed like someone who had that much power. They have become far more aggressive and assertive than the person you knew as a child, now having the attitude to match their technical know-how.

Terra Clarke (F) [RO]- You originally knew her by a different name, but she started transitioning early on life, and Terra is the only name you can remember now. Normally when you say it it's followed by an eye roll. Terra was never someone you got along with when you lived in Misty Cove. She was always very antagonistic towards you and your friends, but a lot has changed since the last time you saw her. She now owns her Grandpa's diner, and tries to take good care of the people of the town, especially since the mayor won't do much. She is always exhausted now, but is very happy to see a familiar face, even if your history is muddied because of both of your actions.

Randall 'Randy' Clarke - Terra's grandfather and former owner of "Randy's Diner" always very kind to you and your friends, even if you all never got along with Terra.

Ana Lloyd - (pronounced AH-na) current mayor and overall very unprepared for her job.

Mrs. Candace Talbot- Your former English teacher from high school, you never got along with her that well.

Dorothy Giles- Your co-worker, likely the only one in your office who cares about her job.

The leader of your group; your eonni. As the eldest and the defacto leader of ST4RDOM, Sofie considers herself a mature young woman tasked with the exhausting chore of babysitting the rest of you. Well, not really. You know deep down that she is rather fond of you and your friends. Sofie is the one who gets everyone to calm down, focus, and get to the studio on time even when it seems impossible.

Vi is the slightly troublesome, mischievous middle child in your group. Manager Hyunwoo affectionately refers to her as the troublesome thorn in his side. Even Sofie has a hard time keeping track of her. Vi is a sweet person though, as you have seen the caring side of her when she is in front of her fans and in private. You haven't talked since he was selected. It has been four years since, and Seungho has certainly changed a lot. The dating scandals speak for themselves. And as it turns out, KMonarchs will be touring Europe around the same time as you. You wonder if he still remembers you...

Gracie Liu | She/her | 22 | Model | Semi RO

Wikipedia states: "Gracie Liu is a British-Chinese model. She is one of the only British models of Chinese descent. An ex k-pop trainee from INDIGO Entertainment, Liu returned to London to continue her modeling career at the age of 20 years old."

Gracie was someone you knew during the trainee program. You became close friends as you had always admired her ability to walk on a stage with confidence and stride. When you had been selected as one of the members for ST4RDOM, Gracie suddenly turned away from you, treating you with hostility until you left. You heard she was kicked out of the program and returned to London, where she now makes a living of strutting down the walkway. Gracie has grown her hair, lost weight, and looks every bit the perfect model. She likely still hates you, but you hear she has a show coming up soon in Paris. Maybe it's time to stop by and amend what was broken.

If you can describe Areum in only one word, it'd be versatile. Being able to switch from sharp and nearly untouchable to elegant and refined depending on the theme and role is an impeccable ability to have in the entertainment industry. Despite such an image under the spotlight, she's actually quite gentle, especially in regards to how angelic her voice can be, which attracts a lot of people.

On-stage Areum is well known for her more cold and quiet persona to contrast Nari's cute and bubbly one, being the youngest members of ST4RDOM they're often paired a lot in songs, which she doesn't mind, Nari's her best friend! Though there are certain songs where she expands her range, which is where she TRULY shines. Along with being one of the very few dark-skinned KPOP idols in the industry, she's more than happy to be able to bring hope to people like her who wish to perform on stage.

When the camera's are finally gone, Areum softens up BIG TIME from her more persona and into the awkward introverted woman she truly is. Her smile's smaller and her voice goes higher in comparison to the deeper tone she often uses for a bunch of ST4RDOM's songs, which can be quite a shock if you were to see out off-stage.

Despite being well aware of how talented she truly is, she can't help but feel insecure about her entire character as a whole. Often not being able to "fit" in her group both dynamic wise and appearance wise; given the many comparisons to her groupmates and the constant whitewashing of her skin isn't really helping either, it can be stressful for a girl who did everything to get to this point and have an existential crisis over her entire personality. But it's fine, maybe things will get better during the tour....right?

Orion is a rather eccentric teen, especially in terms of combat, while they can be rather chaotic and cause a couple of messes every now and then during a mission, they’re also rather calm and calculated when needed, but the range just depends on the mood they’re in.

In the facility they’re rather carefree and laidback since it’s considered their “home”, and a few times they’re just really sweet(which happens more often if you have a higher/good relationship with them)

On missions they make sure to focus on the target and finish the job(there’s a reason why Orion is their codename)

However if a victim has been assaulted in front of them…….well let’s just say it gets gruesome
