This is a great article about smartphone security. Many people don't understand the risk and security risks of sending text messages.
One thing not mentioned was that when you lose your phone is the loss of your data. Besides the obvious of protecting the phone so isn't lost or stolen.
Things you can do:
Lock the phone by making it so you need a finger print, draw a pattern or number code to open.
Use app locks in which you need a code to open the app.
Choose a text message app that can be set to automatically delete messages.
Add a good virus and malware protection app.
Besides protecting you from viruses and malware, you can get some apps that will scan your texts and emails also. Some of these also have app locks.
Many of them provide a means to locate a lost or stolen phones.
Some can be set to take photos of who has your phone.
Remotely wipe the phone making all your data deleted.
I hope this helps. I use Signal, it I've learned is probably the most secure messaging service in the world. Besides the security it has features that regular texts don't have.
Edit sent messages.
Fonts: bold, Italic or strikethrough.
Send a voice message
Connect to your computer or tablet. To message from them.
Prevent screen shots
Make a photos disappear after only be viewed once.
Send attachments up to 100 mg while most emails only allow 20 to 30 mg.
Edit photos
Check to see if a message was delivered and if it had been read.

MRI Time
Today I had my annual MRI. Due to a problem I had taking an antibiotic over the weekend, I wasn't in the best shape. But I went ahead and got the MRI.
Surprisingly I've already gotten the results. Good news no new lesions and everything is stable.

Medtronics Problem
Thursday I had a 6 week post-surgery follow up from the implant of a Medtronics bladder stimulater. As time has progressed from the surgery the stimulater did not perform the same as the temporary device.
It's not been documented yet but either I had a bad reaction to the implanted device or I got a staph bacteria infection. It looks like I have both.
So everything has been removed and I have a sore hip from the surgery and infection. I'll be on antibiotics for 2 weeks.
There will be a discussion of where we go from here.

CT Scan For High Red Blood Cells
With the latest blood test showing I have even a higher red blood cells I had a CT Scan. It was done twice and the second scan was done with a contrasting dye that had iodine.
When you get a contrasting dye with a CT scan they will need to test your kidney function. When I was tested I was about 20 points in the safe zone. One side effect from getting the infusion of dye is a hot flash. I definitely had a hot flash that lasted off and on for about 10 hours. Also my brain felt strange. This being the day after I'm back to normal.
It's kind of scary what conditions can cause a high red blood cell count. While it can be caused by stress or dehydration; it can also be from cancer and heart problems. I hope my issue is from something easy and safe to fix.

RIP Socks

Today was a bad day even though it was Thanksgiving.
My little buddy Socks recently had a condition we had been dealing with. His throat was swollen and he was having trouble breathing and eating.
The Veterinarians didn't know what was wrong. It was thought that he had a infection so we tried several antibiotics with no results. Steroids seemed to help at first but appeared to fail after a while. Another idea was he had bronchitis but that treatment also didn't work. We tried seeing if he had allergies and tried a bunch of different foods with no luck. Finally without any tests we were told it was cancer.
This morning he got up and had extreme difficulty eating and breathing. We took him to the ER and were then told there was nothing more that could be done. Over the last few months he lost a lot of weight. There wasn't any other options.
God let me have him for 15 years. Socks was very gentle. After we had him several years, our neighbor Juan found a kitten after a flood and gave him to me. He was only 3 to 4 weeks old and covered in fleas. We cleaned him up and bottle fed him. When we bought him in Socks checked him out. From that time forward Socks took over washing him and showing him everything like a dad. We named the kitten Tiger. Where ever Tiger went Socks was there.
In some ways this make sense, as my son found Socks in the street 15 years ago. Socks was also about 4 weeks old. At the time we had a huge cat named Ralph who was a Maine Coon cat. Ralph took Socks and raised him washing and mothered him. Tiger is the cat in my profile picture.
God thank you for allowing Socks to be with us please bless him and let me be with him when my time comes.
