is sustainable lifestyle difficult?
Hi, it’s werelivingarts. I’ve been wanting to talk about sustainable lifestyle, and for some of us, you might have been reminded about this for thousand of times. It is the same for me, I learnt a lot about saving environment at school but I came to realize that my family were producing huge amount of plastic wraps everyday.
Sustainable lifestyle is the overlap of environmental, social and economic aspect in our society. Although we are focusing on the environment, it is important to put social and economic in account or else it would collapse.
If you’re reading this, asking “How can I start living sustainably?” is a good first step. Living sustainably is difficult at the start, but rather than seeing the big picture of how you can change the world, focusing on your small actions TODAY such as (not limited): 1. Unplug your charger at night 2. Turn off water tap when you are not using it 3. Buy enough for you to use and eat Sustainable Products + Shops: Etee Shop A Drop in the Ocean Package Free Shop Verishop Arbor Tea Wally Shop (groceries) Earth Hero Ocelot Market

how to learn new content and never forget it
save this for your next academic year and finals, and it’ll save your grades and time.
1. whenever you read a paragraph with new content, close the book/look away and ask yourself: “what have i just learned?” explaining the concept to yourself right away and asking follow-up questions will change the way you retain new material forever.
2. at first, it’ll be daunting, and it’ll be pretty hard to actually bring yourself to do this. trust me, it’ll be worth it - as this is scientifically proven one of the most effective study techniques.
3. to try this out, set yourself a timer for how long you estimate learning a concept might take. now take away 20% from that estimate. you won’t be able to reach this goal with basic highlighting and re-reading techniques - but with active recall, you will.
4. once you’ve understood the concept, use spaced repetition systems like anki flashcards to force yourself to retrieve this information in a set period of time. this way, your brain will always be reminded of this concept before it could possibly forget it.
5. teach it to others as much as you can. as with the old wisdom “see one, do one, teach one”, one of the only guarantees you’ve really gotten something is when you can effectively teach it.
hope these are helpful for you!!

Just in case you don’t get to hear it from your parents or family in general...
You’re doing a great job. I am so proud of you. I believe you can achieve your dreams. You’re going to be okay. Making mistakes is okay. You are important. And you are deserving of love and happiness.

First day of college was super easy! Sad that everything is online, but I’m trying to make the most of it. I love all of my professors so far - they are truly going above and beyond to make sure that everyone is comfortable and adjusted. My classes all seem super interesting as well.
(Also as you can see, I switched back to Momentum for my browser extension. Nothing can beat it)

DIY pressed flower bookmark :) Constantly surrounding myself with nature gives me the joy and inspiration I need to tackle each day.
S/O to my sister for casually having a laminator handy.
(ALSO CAN I JUST SAY TODAY’S EPISODE OF FRUITS BASKET WAS PERFECTION)

Today’s study space :)
Grabbed an ironing board so I could stand up while working AND have a view of my backyard.
My succulents are doing very well so far!
I am a big fan of my new browser extension: Subtle Tab. I enjoy the simplicity and beautiful wallpapers (mine is set to Nature, but Travel, Nightlife, and Architecture are also available). Before I had Momentum, which I also really liked, but I got tired of being asked to go pro. Although Subtle Tab isn’t very customizable, it has everything I need, from to do lists, bookmarks, the weather and time, and notes. Will be missing the inspirational quotes tho :(

Moby-Dick is probably one of the most challenging books I’ve ever read (that’s coming from the girl who read Les Miserables when she was 13), but I’m glad that I’m using this time in quarantine to undertake it. I’ve also pulled out my bullet journal again, which I’m super happy about. I have slumps every now and then, but I really want to use this time to stay inspired
