"Thanks~ I think I'll take that as a compliment." She nodded. Was it? Sorta. It seemed like it was from him. At the very least. So far, honestly- she wasn't a fan. But maybe he'd turn out not to be such a stick in the mud later on. But she had her doubts. The coffee she knew would have gotten a rave review from anyone else, and that left a bitter taste in her mouth- unlike the coffee would in his.

"Sorry- I keep busy and not up with the who's who unless Thea's talking about it- then I kinda hear about it. That's her forte though, not mine. You got a name?" She gave a little tip of her head and looked up at him.

Baal looked at the coffee with a shrug. "S'fine. Better than most you can find on the streets, I'll grant ya that." With the way this imp was flitting around and her choice of dress, did she really think she had a chance of this being anything beyond something he might have to severely admonish a minor family member for?

"Not a damn one of 'em bothers with my standards." He mutters to himself. Then the question came and he scoffed. "You don't recognize the Principal King of the Ars Goetia?"

A brief deliberation of what coffee to make herself, and then she was quickly crafted together a honeybunches for herself. Then she grabbed what appeared to be an a small cup for espresso shots, and poured it from her drink and set it in front of him. Nudging it towards him with a smirk.

"Yep~ Friday mornings!"

She then sipped at the drink she'd made and relaxed back into her seat. Giving a nod of approval for her drink as her tail gave a pleasant, lazy swish.

"Can't guarantee the others not mentioning it- but I don't think I've ever mentioned it to others... We don't actually want like a ton of people crowding so we don't give exact time frames.. but one person won't hurt... Now you get to keep our secret."

She grinned and followed it with a playful little wink.

Striker's striped tail flicked back and forth as he listened, but not in an annoyed manner at all. He was intrigued, and it showed. He stole another sip, eyebrows lifting a little bit.

He focused on the barista and her honeyed words.

"Friday mornings, yeah?" the imp repeated, making a mental note of it.

Don't go thinkin' you're some kind of special. Probably just a business tactic, he reminded himself. If Macchi was a smart businesswoman, and she appeared to be, she'd know exactly how to keep a customer coming back.

That meant making them feel like they mattered. She was hooking him up with the best stuff, but she probably did the same to anyone who stuck around long enough to strike up a conversation.

Still, there was something endearing about the way she pretended to zip her lips and throw away the key.

"... How many people know about this?" Striker questioned, and smirked a little bit at Macchi's reaction to the cold coffee. "Never been fond of crowds... long lines, all that. Can't be arsed."

Her tail flickered joyfully behind her, and she clapped her hands together. "I miiiight work in a coffee shop yeah~" She chimed in a playful sing-song like voice. Smiling widely and her eyes shining behind the mask. She didn't know why it made her so happy he figured it out - but it did.

"So I guess the coffee and sandwhich really made an impression on you then?"

It was a playful joking tone, but she honestly was still quite pleased he had made the connection. She'd enjoyed their chat.

"You look nice all dressed up."

Even if he kinda gave himself away a little bit despite the masquerade theme just by being somewhat different. Though, you'd have to really try to fully hide yourself if folks know you anyway. So really- might as well just roll with it.

She was just glad for the chance to dress up, as well. The coffee shop uniform wasn't too terribly boring but the necessary apron- well she'd just prefer not to have to wear it though she did enjoy it's pockets.

The woman knew his name, Striker realized with an on-edge rattle. That was a clue— either she knew him, and his addled mind was drawing a blank— or she was aware of the bounty on his head, his wanted posters, his career. She could be here to hire him, fawn over his accomplishments, or hunt him down.

Striker didn't doubt that he could take her if it came to a fight, but she didn't seem like she was heading in that direction at all. In fact, the longer she lingered, the more certain Striker became.

He did know her. Maybe.

"Yeee... eah," he muttered, shifting awkwardly. "This might be a shot in the dark, but, uh..."

Hands clasped together behind him.

"We've met before... right? D'you work in a coffee shop by chance?"

His mouth arched up in a tense grin, yellowed teeth bared under twitching lips. He was glad he had the mask, even if it didn't cover his entire face— he wasn't usually this fiddly, but if the smaller imp was who he thought she was, well...

Striker couldn't say he knew how he'd feel about that.

Even now, somewhere deep inside his chest was a twisted, messy kind of excitement, a flame of hope that threatened to spread to the surrounding leaves.

It was completely foreign.

Macchi's tail flicked eagerly as he tried the coffee- she had asked the person who'd set her up what coffee to bring and she'd made three cups before getting it perfect. So she'd brought that one and made sure to keep it just right. "Do you like it?" She rocket on her feet a little bit in something between nerves and eagerness.

She knew it likely wasn't a serious thing but Macchi was going to have fun with this anyway.

The goetia standing in front of her was not what she expected nor was he really what she would pick for herself ... but well she was here now.

"Macchi- like Macchiato if it helps you remember." She'd dressed up real cute too, elegant for her but seeing her date now... not what she assumed he was used to seeing in the ways of elegant but it was still nice on her. A little on the sexy side, a little on the classy side.

She smiled. "And what about you?" She quirked a brow. Some big important goetia that Thea probably kept better track of than she did.
