fatui ! kaeya was present in the fatui since the beginning ( was at pierro's side ever since the cataclysm ) , so they were around for every harbinger's induction into the fatui . they were about 10 - 12 years old ( khaenri'ahns have slow physical aging so while kaeya was well over hundreds of years old , mentally and physically they were still a child ) , arlecchino was pardoned and granted the title as the new knave .

at this point in time , kaeya knew the tsaritsa , dottore , signora , scaramouche , and il capitano , but avoided dottore like the plague . as they grew up , they became closer 'friends' with scaramouche and viewed signora as a mother figure . kaeya was intimidated by arlecchino at the beginning , but after a while of getting to know her , they forged a bond with her as well .

kaeya gratefully takes the drink , bowing his head in a thankful nod before taking a sip . ah , it seems his companion has wonderful taste .

he hums at the question and sets the glass down , gliding a fingertip along the rim .

" ah , well , i'm not that regal . it's just a fun little game i like to play , see what people will think if i present myself this way . if you think i'm some sort of royalty , it means i'm doing a good job . "

he sits up , cool blue eye regarding the blonde , charming smile on his face .

" in any case , my point is , i like the . . . challenge you give me . not many can match my wit , so it's been . . . interesting . " a dance with the devil , and kaeya knows the steps .

playing rough was certainly a way to live life, and while aventurine isn't the type to do it physically at least, there was always the psychological fun of playing rough. he knows how to get under skins, and get what he wants from it. so, pushing the second drink to the other, the gambler tilts his head in curiousity as he leans back when he was saitisifed the drink was near the other.

"you learnt that about yourself recently, huh? what, tired of being all regal and fair given how you dress?"

RARELY IS IT THAT PHAINON FINDS HIMSELF IN THE CITY — from the moment he had first stepped foot into Mondstadt ( after awaking from a nightmare that stretched for eternities ), he had been certain that the busy city life was no longer something that interested him. Yet, he was never one to refuse when called upon & it seems his presence was needed here for the time being, even if he wasn't sure of why. It is that uncertainty that has left him wandering the city in search of a quiet spot, as if he can't find himself at peace in unfamiliar places — or perhaps he is just unsettled in his own skin, like he has been for a long time. It's when he's nearby to the headquarters that he finally stops walking, lifting a hand in a greeting upon spotting a familiar figure. Or at least, someone he has met before. ❝Captain Kaeya, fancy seeing you here.❞ Phainon says, voice holding that ever-present lightness — the sort of which has never been genuine, but there is no one here to see through it any longer. Not really. ❝How have you been faring? I hope there hasn't been any trouble as of late?❞

to say kaeya was suspicious of this new . . . ' outlander ' would be putting it lightly . part of him still hesitated to trust the traveler , so a new outsider had his nerves on end . still , he remained graceful , charismatic , and charming . never let your guard down .

phainon was . . . interesting , but kaeya knew he could sense the otherworldly - ness about him . it clung to him like a second skin , like a perfume at times . kaeya didn't know what to make of him . the attitude , the ' persona ' , kaeya was in the midst of another actor .

two can play at this game , he supposed .

turning on his charm as he always did , he saluted the knightly salute , and hummed .

" how considerate of you ~ i have been doing well , now that the storm has settled , things have been rather peaceful . i sure do hope it stays that way . " he ended with a sigh .

" what about you , i hope mondstadt has been treating you well . "

so , i added an npc to kaeya's relationships page , but i did want to give context to him in case people were wondering . arvid stems from my kaeya - centric fic , and i felt it would've been fun to add him into kaeya's blog to kinda showcase the direction i want to go with kaeya . i doooon't know ? if i'll add arvid to my multi , but i might .

but he's an oc i created for my fic and he's really tied into kaeya , and i wanted to express their bond bc i felt it was super important to kaeya's portrayal

kaeya sighs almost dramatically as he flicks a rolled up napkin towards the bartender -- his brother -- before pulling his wine glass closer .

" he'd see me coming . funny , isn't it ? the only reason he knows where i am or what i'm doing is by tracking me through his visions . if only he'd send a christmas card every once in a while or a birthday letter . "

he leans back in his stool , " revenge does sound enticing , though , i won't lie . i just have to be tactful about it . "

savior scoffs as he flips his mora coin , catching it , a sardonic smirk on his face . yet another person that can reads him . he needs to fix his mask , fine - tune it a bit more .

" oh he isn't doing it to spare others . he's insane simply because he wants the power . in his pursuit of said power , he abandoned his one and only son . " kaeya shrugs , " if he can just discard my existence , i wouldn't be shocked if he doesn't even remember my name or what i look like . "
