it is not weird to be comforted by "childish" items.

surrounding yourself with things that bring you comfort is something that everyone does, not just regressors or dreamers. it's natural for "childish" things to bring you that comfort.

the literal purpose of pacifiers is to soothe. kids shows are meant to be fun and kind and easy to consume. sippy cups are naturally less stressful because they don't spill and they are easier for people with mobility issues.

so it isn't embarrassing or weird to enjoy using these things as an adult. they are serving their purpose, and they are making you happy. that's a wonderful thing.

whether or not your childhood was bad, whether or not your inner child needs healing -- if you find peace in "childish" things, that hurts no one. it is a perfectly valid way to cope.

“It’s a bit warm in here, Mum. Any chance we could have a window open?” He asks.

Up until this point it had just been subtle nuances. The slight wiff of a childlike fragrance, an underlying smell of stale urine, or his deliberate skipping of college PE class. But as Jonathons friends secretly entered his private dorm room next to the campus nurses quarters, with the intention of finding out more, the penny dropped.

Two things happened as Marcus, Robbie and Jess puzzled over the small corner bed decked out as a nappy changing table.

Firstly, and quite abruptly, an adjoining door swung open into the room catching Jess' foot limiting its opening range and effectively forming a division between the three friends and whoever was coming through the door.

Secondly, a naked body was thrust into the room and steered towards the bed.

"Come on Jonathon, let's get your nappy on and get you ready for bed. I've got your bottle warming but you can have milkies from my breast as a treat for being such a good boy in... Oh, who are you three?"

No more than a minute later Jonathon was laying on his back, legs in the air, his dummy in his mouth and his cheeks flushed crimson in embarrassment. While Robbie and Marcus had their phones out, having refused the nurses request to help out, Jess and the nurse were busy applying baby talc and taping Jonathon into the shamefully thick plastic nappy.

"Now if you're any kind of friends" the nurse began, "I'm sure Jonathon would appreciate you keeping his bedwetting problems between the five of us. After all, he's got another three years at college and his Step Mother give me strict instructions he's to be kept babied the entire time."

Sankthansaften in Denmark ^^ Normally a time for bonfires and songs but it has been raining on/off all day. Does mean that the temperature is actually somewhat comfortable now, perfect for a trip to the playground 😀

🌷 take a break from scrolling, little one .. sit down. take a deep breath in for 8 seconds ..... and out, good job ! set your phone down for a minute and give those little hands a break -- they need them. go grab a snack and some water if you haven't already, maybe adjust your posture, fix your blankets if you're under the covers, get up and stretch for a second !

🍼 being bottle fed in a carer’s lap, slowly falling asleep while being rocked and hushed

🧸 soft toys and games like plush blocks, sensory pads, mobiles, tummy time, rattles, peekaboo, silly songs and lullabies

⭐️ being put down for a nap in a crib or in a bed with rails, getting back / belly pats and rubs

🍼 crying when carer isn’t around, always wanting to be picked up and held / carried

🧸 nonverbal cues (including crying) to communicate wants

⭐️ tickles, snuggles, and lots of laying down because sitting up isn’t a favorite just yet

🍼 being called names like “baby”, “honey”, “poor thing”, “little one”, “cutie”

🧸 onesies, booties, mittens, binkies, and bottles galore <3

Napping while regressed feels so pure. Like I’m a sleepy baby, snuggling my stuffies while lullaby’s play in the background.

Toy-checklist!

Getting new toys is super exciting! But sometimes it can be a bit difficult to decide wheter buying a new toy is a good idea, so here are some questions to think about that might help you to decide:

🩷 Is the new toy currently in budget for you? Is there potentially a way to get it for cheaper, e.g. by buying second hand or waiting for it to be on sale or borrowing it?

💜 Do you have the space for this toy? Do you have a place to put the toy away at?

🩵 Will you be able to tidy up after playing and clean the toy when necessary?

💙 Is this toy gonna be obnoxious for the people around you? (This goes especially for toys with sound)

💚 Is this toy gonna be safe for you to play with? Is it gonna be safe for other people or pets around you? If not, can you make it safe? (This goes especially for toys with small part and/or batteries, which can be very dangerous when swallowed)

💖 And most importantly of course: Do you want the toy and are you gonna play with it a lot?
