Not to be that guy but having AUs is not the same as disrespecting canon. If you're gonna say that non-canon ships are disrespecting canon then you are claiming that people as high up as the moderators and the actual thumbnail artists disrespect canon. Also, not every artwork with these characters is ship art, and if you see every artwork that could be interpreted as ship art but isn't inherently maybe stop making assumptions? Friendships exist. Queer-platonic relationships exist. Not everything is romantical.

(Obviously if they're like kissing that's hard to misinterpret but just because someone's doing something that could be seen as couple-ish doesn't mean it is. Like hugging, cuddling, holding hands. None of these things are inherently romantic.)

Second also. Just block the people if you don't like their content. It takes two seconds out of your day. Yes, tagging is important, but there's a lot of new people on this platform from the fall of twitter who don't realize that. I'm not calling anon an asshole, but they way they worded things was a real asshole way to word them.

Moral of the story, most people do tag their content appropriately. If you feel a certain way about something that isn't tagged as a ship, feel free to block them. But the people you're screaming at are a large minority.

Friends, accept it, shippers are never going to respect canon because they simply don't care, neither adoptive familial relationships like Moon and Solar, nor characters hating each other to the point of abuse and trauma as is the case with Sun and Eclipse. They just don't care, and I personally wouldn't care about that either, if it weren't for the fact that they DON'T TAG the content so those of us who use blocking # can avoid them.

If I'm accusing you, you're too lazy or irresponsible to tag your work correctly. You are the problem.

We're coming off anon with this one boys. It's long and I apologize but it's been weighing on my mind for quite some time.

There are three things people tend to know me for in this fandom. My art, my fanfics, or my thread on TSBS server. Said thread is a place where I talk about the psychological aspects of the show, as well as do character analyses and sometimes even analyze entire lore uploads for the kicks and giggles. I'm a psychology major, I also have ASPD. I made the thread so I could talk about Eclipse, who at the time I suspected had the same disorder I do and which was later confirmed less than a week after I made the thread. Since then Ruin has also been confirmed as an ASPD haver, which I personally deeply enjoy. It's fun for me to talk about my disorder and relate it to the show since ASPD is really hard to understand. 99% of people are inherently capable of empathy, and about 2% of that 98% lose that ability during childhood. So it's understandably not a very well-understood disorder. It's also a very scary and dark disorder, and I can say that honestly because I live with it. Due to this fact, it tends to be villainized in media, and I am very refreshed by the fact that TSAMS does a good job of not making their ASPD havers raving lunatics with a thirst for blood. 

Anyways, that's just background information. So far I haven't met very many weirdos about ASPD in this fandom. Almost everyone is very chill with the fact that I am a sociopath and I haven't received a ton of weird comments about it. It's a relief since I deal with a lot of open stigma and harassment irl because I refuse to pretend to be something I'm not. However, there was an instance in my thread when I was actively talking about ASPD, and a new member decided to. . . I don't even know. It was creepy and weird, and really uncomfortable. They basically told me that I'm 'too nice of a person to be a sociopath' and that they could tell that I wasn't a sociopath because they see the good in people. They also said that they were surprised that there are sociopathic people and inferred that sociopaths are pretending, whatever that means. They kept going to keep making weird and stigmatized comments about the disorder, as well as continuing to compliment me in a very unnerving way. I think about it a lot because it was very uncomfortable to be interrupted like that in the middle of talking about ASPD. There was the new mod online and participating in the conversation, but they didn't say anything to the person who was actively making me uncomfortable, even though I expressed such in the chat. 

I deal with a lot of stigma and ableism in my day-to-day life, where people tell me that I can't be a sociopath because of really stupid shit. Like the fact, I get along with people or want to help people in the medical field. Or the time-tried 'but you're a woman' comments. I don't understand why the mod kinda just left me to fend for myself and ignored the person causing issues, and while I don't hold it against them, I do have anxiety about this situation repeating itself in the future. It's not easy to talk about a disorder that the average person could not even dream of understanding, and it's even harder when people who don't know you are trying to tell you that your disorder is fake based on flimsy reasoning. It's really invalidating of the actual hellscape I had to survive to be able to even turn 18, and it rakes up my anxiety to a 10 just at the thought of it. There's not a lot of safe spaces for someone to talk about having a dark disorder, and even less for something as rare and misunderstood as ASPD. It's hard enough as it is being a high-functioning sociopath, and I just needed to rant, I suppose. Haha, could make it a "tl;dr even I get offended sometimes."

Anyway, not dropping names, but it wasn't a private matter. Nor am I upset with the mods, it's just a thing that happened that I think about a lot because it's a very rare thing for me to be offended. Glad that the majority of this fandom that I've interacted with has been willing to hear me out ASPD, but I just worry about having a repeat situation like this. It's a very sad thing to witness in this fandom that talks about inclusivity. We can't pick and choose our disorders, and where there are canon sociopaths in the show one would think the fans would try to be a little more educated on the disorder (not directed towards anyone and I appreciate the people who are willing to ask me things about it instead of making assumptions).

I started working with achromatic palettes and trying some crunchy, textured horror style that took some inspiration from Junji Ito but in the sense of "the vibe I wanted when I decided to try it" instead of being directly inspired.

I'm also dramatic as fuck and loved the vibe of this whole episode.

Late to the party but AUs exist for a reason. Also Solar and Moon aren't literally brothers in canon, just like how Sun and Moon aren't literally brothers either. They (S&M) adopted each other once they reached an understanding.

I don't personally ship SolarMoon cause I don't ship tsams Moon with. . . like anyone lmfao. Maybe with Foxy or Puppet, but only in certain contexts/aus.

Canon is canon and fanon is fanon and you aren't gonna hurt anything by doing what fandom is for. Which is embracing the fanon and making aus and headcanons.

I watched the recent episode of SAMS and Moon called Solar his brother so I'm conflicted about if I still want to ship them.

Can anyone tell me their thoughts? I enjoy the ship a lot but I don't want to ship siblings. Does Moon see him as a sibling or more as a homie? (If that makes sense)

Can I just point out something again.

How am I supposed to care for the main protagonist in Tsams. When they use the woes of the antagonists for their own entertainment?

I don't care how much better of a person Monty has become. I don't care how much better of a person Moon has become. I get and understand that they have every right and reason to be upset with eclipse and blood moon. They have every right to be angry. But do they have them right to laugh and point out the villain sorrow? Am I supposed to feel happy when they tell me every reason and understanding of why I feel sympathy for the villains as a joke?

This is the epitome of Batman laughing at joker for going insane. There is nothing good about joker being insane. For many villains and hero relationships. None of those heroes laugh at the misery of their villains. They will be angry. They will shout. Hell they might not even feel sympathy for whatever the villain had to go through. I can get that. But most don't play it off as a joke. Most don't go haha, that murderer's brother died. Most don't go haha, You're a little twerp that never should have lived.

Those sentences sure don't feel gratifying or hilarious when said in a void does it? Call me a villain kisser. Call me a moon/Monty hater. Have you wondered why some people would be like that? You can hate the killer but you never laugh at what life brought them there. You can wish for their death but you never celebrate the misery of their lives. You may celebrate their death, But you certainly don't mock about it with an air of jokery to those that are left behind in the aftermath.

There is one thing I get from watching real life crime reviews. People will get angry. People will shoot it in the villain's face. They will celebrate the villain's death with cry's and triumphant yells. But no one looks at their life and giggles. No one flonders their death around family no matter how involved they are. You don't do that. There is usually nothing right with how they were treated, And there certainly is nothing right about packaging someone's death certificate in a present, and handing it over to whoever was closest.

I don't care how sweet or better Monty has gotten. I don't care how different of a person Moon is. I don't care how understanding the soft Sun's anger is. I don't care if puppet is some primal entity who was expecting this from the beginning. I don't care if Lunar's jokes are just an expression of anger. At least he has an excuse. At least it feels like lunar is legit joking out of a fit of anger. Everyone else up there has made plenty of jokes and jabs without some sort of anger to cover it up. Sun maybe. But everyone else? Especially our oh so wonderful Monty?! No! I could get it maybe in the sanctity of his home. In the quiet of his friends. But he literally takes the time to drive these villains out into the light and play with them for a bit.

I feel like I'm being force fed this idea that I'm supposed to be okay with this. Like it's entirely okay to look at a villain's backstory and laugh at it! That I'm not only supposed to celebrate a murderer's death, but also joke about it to their family and friends! Everyone in this goddamn fandom hops and skips around that issue because surely it can't be. Surely I can't look at these wonderful characters I've been voting for for ages, and realize that they're jackasses. But they are promoting the worst behavior I have ever seen. Let's just laugh at the jokes. Let's just jear at the expressions. Let us ignore every possible reason why this is the most fucked up shit.

Because for some reason. As long as they have a reason to hate. They have a reason to joke. And while I might understand it as some sort of self therapy. Talking to the villains about it and even there friends is cruel!

I was originally gonna draw Rue but I’m trying not to draw them as much to reign in spoilers where I can, soooo I was left trying to somehow fit a suit over poor Solar Flare, it was like trying to dress up a toaster lmao

Putting a readmore bc I rambled

I understand that people want Eclipse to have a redemption arc but giving him empathy is just going to erase his literal personality. He is a sociopath. He has a sociopathic personality. No hate on Anon, but if they want to see someone give him a good redemption arc that could make sense in canon, then they're gonna have to accept that Eclipse is never going to just pick up empathy and stick it in his pocket like a shiny rock. He's always gonna be an asshole because that's just his personality. Even if he is trying to be nice, he's still an asshole. He's still a sociopath. And no one is going to be able to write the redemption arc that people want to see unless they do major research on ASPD.

And I'm not talking about googling, I'm talking about actually talking to people who are high-functioning sociopaths. (You don't want low-functioning, 9/10 times they aren't aware they have the disorder, and the 10% that are don't care). Most high-functioning sociopaths (like myself) are more than happy to talk to people about our disorder because we never really get to. It's a scary disorder (it is, scary to be around and scary to have) that's really hard for empathetic people to understand.

The original Eclipse was on his way to a redemption arc, he was recognizing his faults and coming to terms with them. But he got killed too quickly. But for a sociopath empathy just doesn't pan out the way that anon is hoping it would for him. If a sociopath gains empathy for someone at all, it's not going to be because of their own past. It's going to be because the person has consistently made themselves useful to the point that we aren't really given a choice but to care about them, and eventually care for them. Most people don't make it that far, and give up on us, and leave us behind because we're too. . . you ready for it? Sociopathic.

There is something that I have wanted to mention in public for a long time but since it had to do directly with the show, until recently read other confessions where they mention stories made by fans…

There are no good Eclipse fanfics having him redemption :(

Or maybe I haven't had the fortune to find one.

Don't misunderstand, some start out good, maintaining the real personality of the show's characters, but sooner rather than later they fall into the easy way out of minimizing the damage the character did to others like Sun or Lunar for example, and blaming everything on OldMoon, stripping Eclipse of his identity as a villain and leaving him solely as a victim.

Why can't it be both? Why can't he properly deal with the consequences of his actions as a villain, accept the results of that, and find empathy towards others by remembering what he himself suffered???

I wish my brain was as good with writing as sometimes am with numbers because if I had the time and confidence for it would really like to try to make a story that feels more correct and did justice to the character.
