I know there are some people who are really upset about the Final Problem, but let’s focus on the good things, yeah? Like
-how soft Sherlock would always get when he was talking to the girl on the plane, even when he found out it was part of Eurus’s psychosis -John and Sherlock playing with Rosie at the end -Mycroft being canonically scared of clowns -Mycroft watching movies and mouthing every word because he knows them by heart because he’s a film noir nerd (apparently) -Sherlock realizing that emotions make him stronger, not weaker -Sherlock’s parents saying to him “you were always the grown up” -Sherlock getting Greg’s name right -Greg calling Sherlock a ‘Good Man’

Sherlock: The Final Problem
Apparently I haven’t posted here for nearly two years but I’ve decided to write my thoughts on the last episode of Sherlock down because...well I have nothing better to do right now!
Okay, so for me Series 1 and 2 were genius, near perfect. I liked Series 3, His Last Vow I felt was particularly good, but didn’t quite match up to what came before. Contrary to most people’s opinion, I actually really liked The Six Thatchers despite it’s obvious flaws and I absolutely adored The Lying Detective. For me, this was a return to form and I liked it almost as much as The Reichenbach Fall. I’ve enjoyed all episodes so far, regardless of any perceived flaws. However, the Final Problem was a struggle for me.
Firstly, the positives. The acting; oh myyy, it’s always brilliant so there isn’t much to say but if Benedict doesn’t at least get nominated for a BAFTA for this series, it will be a crime. But everybody was brilliant, there was no weak link. Special mention to Louise Brealey as Molly and Sian Brook as Eurus - wow!!
Another positive is the characterisations. I loved the fact that Sherlock has become more human through his experiences and that was shown perfectly in the Final Problem. I love that his friendship with John is stronger that ever: “this is family”, “that’s WHY he stays”. I love that Molly got her moment, she’s a fantastic sadly underused character and Loo Brealey plays her perfectly. I just love her. More Molly please!
I also appreciated the tension/suspense element and the ‘game’ Eurus was playing. I watched in the cinema so it was especially dark and my heart was going pretty much the whole time. Unfortunately, i’d seen some spoilers prior to watching but there was still some ‘omg’ brilliant and sad moments, like Redbeard being a child not a dog. And some of them were really well done.
There was still some much appreciated humour; “kettle’s over there”. And Andrew Scott arriving in a plane to ‘I want to break free’. No matter how silly it was, I laughed. I just love him!!!
Now for the negatives. For me the main issue I had with this episode is the lack of credible story and some scenes which were, even by Sherlock standards, ridiculous and had me shaking my head. The explosion in the flat? Why? Jumping out of a first floor window, explosion behind them and coming out without a scratch. And then the next scene they were on a boat pretending to be pirates. Oh, I was confused. I think the point was at the end to have them rebuilding the flat, like they’ve rebuilt their friendship but I feel this could have better, more realistically portrayed. I also wasn’t keen on the majority of the episode taking place in Sherrinford. Certain scenes, ill be honest, had me cringing. And then there’s the plot holes. Just how did John climb out of that well with a rope when he was chained to the bottom? How did Eurus take over the whole asylum? Why did she even return there after escaping/. (did I miss something?). Additionally, some scenes jumped from one thing to the next with little explanation and I was left feeling somewhat confused.
It didn’t really feel like an episode of Sherlock to me and I missed the previous styles but I suppose it’s good to do something different sometimes. It’s just that for me, some elements worked and some didn’t. It did seem that the story suffered for the sake of the characterisations.
I liked the ending and I think if that really is the end i’ll be reasonably satisfied. That said, there’s still stories to be told and I do want a Series 5 but it would be good if it could go back to the tone/style of Series 1 & 2. I like the idea of seeing John and a more human Sherlock solving crimes in modern day London. I just hope that Moffitt’s ego doesn’t get in the way because he can be a brilliant writer but certainly some elements of Series 3 and 4 did seem very clever clever and show-offy. Sometimes less is more.
Overall, the Final Problem is probably my least favourite of the episodes but I will watch again and maybe my opinion will change.

Rest in Peace, Robin Williams. July 21st, 1951 - August 11th, 2014
Thank you for bringing joy into my childhood and life with your voice and acting. Thank you for your contagious jokes, your wacky impersonations, and amazing acting. Thank you for making my childhood experience better, and thank you for bringing joy to those even though you battled with your own joy. If only you could have known how much you’ve impacted people. Your life work will live on, and you will never be forgotten. I know I won’t forget you. Thank you for helping me whenever I felt sad and having a film for every mood. Gone, but never forgotten.

RIP Robin Williams <3 Was gutted when hearing about his tragic death late last night. I'm watching Mrs Doubtfire yet again because it is one of my favourite films and I remember laughing out loud throughout the first time I saw it. And still do - it's timeless! Funny but poignant and just all round feel good, and Robin is of course, fantastic in it. He really was truly one of the greats. I've seen many of his films and he was just as good at serious roles as comedy ones. For anyone who's not seen it, One Hour Photo, really shows his versatily but he's played so many good roles. He made so many people happy, it's just a shame that in the end he couldn't find happiness for himself. I hope he's at peace now!

Amazing that Hamlet is now the most in demand theatre show ever. I knew Benedict was popular but this is astounding. I have a reasonably good ticket and i'm thrilled but I do feel so sorry for people who could not get one. Especially since I've seen tickets touted on one site for £550 which is disgusting, I really hope the Barbican does something about this. But congrats to those who've got a ticket and to those who haven't, don't give up, you may be lucky enough to get one of the £10 tickets next year :)

Only August but I've already started my Christmas list 😝

In the run up to Christmas every year I get lots and lots of harried emails from parents lamenting the lack of official Benedict Cumberbatch merchandise that they can buy. Up until now apart from some fan tees and some slightly dodgy unauthorised biographies theres been very little available. All that is about to change with the release of Danilo’s Benedict Cumberbatch calendar for 2015.
The calendar is officially endorsed by Benedict (who signed off on every photo) and features images from photoshoots over the past few years. One of the main selling points is the three previously unreleased Tertius Bune photographs (pictured above) which are exclusive to this calendar.
The calendar itself is quite the handsome beast. The photos are printed on thick glossy paper stock and the print quality is superb. The images are also absolutely huge – certainly no scrimping on quality here. The high res images shine and theres lots of space on the calendar to fill in your important dates.
The calendar is available now from Danilo for £8.99 or as part of a double pack with the Sherlock calendar for £15.99. Ships worldwide.
Look out for a competition from us to win one of three available calendars soon…

Hamlet!!!
So I had a pretty poor day at work. Made worse to realise that Hamlet tickets were most likely going to sell out before I could get one on General Sale. Spent the whole evening stressing and saying "i'm not going to cave in, I simply will not spend £100 on a theatre ticket for anybody". Well, I caved in, bought Orange Membership at the Barbican and luckily, bagged myself a stalls ticket, row K. SO SO HAPPY! I was honestly resigned to the fact I wasn't going and an hour later I have a ticket! I was going to chance it and hope for the best, and I may have been able to get one from an agency or the £10 scheme tickets but I just wanted to go and didn't want to risk it. A very expensive trip but so worth it. I would never spend that much money on any other production or actor, I actually can't believe i've done it but I did, thank god I have a job now :P. Slightly nervous about looking like a billy on my own since I couldn't get anyone to go with me lol but I'd rather just be there on my own than miss out. So roll on October 17th 2015, my first professional Shakespeare play and my first time seeing Benedict in the flesh, i'm sure he will be amazing and I can't wait!

My friend Julie met Benedict today. She literally ran a block to catch up to his car and got in the middle lane while they were at a red light.
Her side of the story:: He just rolled up next to where I was on the sidewalk. I looked over, eyes popped out of my head and I said “Hi!” He said “Hi!” And rolled away down the street. I said “I’m gonna chase him.” And I did!
I need to stop asking myself for permission before I do stuff! He said “you’re going to get yourself run over!” I said “I don’t care!”

I'm sooooo jealous of everyone that's seeing Benedict at ComicCon in San Diego this weekend. I think I would faint with excitement if I was there, hope everyone is having a fab time you lucky devils! For me the pictures will have to do unfortunately. I keep doing the 'fangirl giggle' as I call it and getting funny looks off the family, I think i've become 12 years old again :P Damn you Benedict for turning me, an apparent adult, into a squealing, quivering, obsessed little girl again haha

I can’t even explain how excited I am for this film! It has an amazing cast and i’m looking forward to seeing Alan Turing’s extraordinary story told on the big screen. And who better to play him than Benedict…! I can tell just by the trailer that he will be amazing and I really hope he gets his first much deserved Oscar nomination (hopefully followed by a win). Not sure i’ll be able to cope with him crying in the film though <3 Hurry up November!
