A sad day for my #birdposting tag.

Regretful to report that it seems one of the two baby seagulls didn't make it. Just putting it under a read more bc it's a little depressing.

We named the bigger one Snowball, and the smaller one Teacake (respective of the net weight difference of the snacks we named them after).

Teacake hasn't been seen for a few days now, and knowing the mortality rate for little gulls, we can only assume something must have happened. Especially with how hard their Mama seemed to struggle last season, when she was raising their big brother Cheeps, and how slowly he was growing.

Wee Teacake was just so tiny, I'd been worried from the start. So I had kind of been prepared for it at least.

On the bright side, Snowball is gaining weight quickly, he has sturdy little legs, and I even caught footage of him getting fed by Mama (it was gross! 💕).

Can only hope things go up from here.

Glad I had the blessing to see the lil Teacake come and go, despite it being such a short time 🩶

finally worked up the courage to start a second playthough and it is truly remarkable how different this game feels from where i ended it

the feeling of unity in the Van Der Linde gang in chapter 1 compared to chapter 6 (where honestly i spent most of my time procrastinating out of depression for the story) is just... almost incomprehensibly different

part of that is down to not having been attached to the characters or having any idea of what was coming in my first playthrough, the first scenes, but i really do put it mostly down to this gradual shift in tone as the story plays out, and i'm sure of that bc i was just replaying some of the later missions i had saved for my first run, and it FEELS different, the characters feel different

it's so palpable

and it really emphasises how hard the gang fell from grace, and how incredibly organic and believable the writers and developers and actors made that decline feel; there were sudden, shocking moments of things going so far south between botched jobs and unexpected character deaths, but just like Arthur and likely the rest of them, you're so caught up in the moment that you don't really take into account HOW bad it was, until the clarity of hindsight kicks in

until you as a player are literally tracing the footsteps of where it all went wrong

man, i don't like many triple-A game experiences, but the narrative and its pacing in RDR2, its ability to have you naturally slow down for your own wellbeing in a way that almost kind of confuses you and leads you needing to revise all that's happened, is nothing like i've ever seen before, from a game of this calibre... i've seen it in smaller games from more indie developers, who didn't have the budget or manpower to create something of such enormity that you get so lost in it, but i've never seen a narrative so well done on a scale like this

from an artistic and collaborative standpoint, it's genuinely amazing

We sharing anaesthetic stories?? I had to have dental surgery when i was in middle school.

According to my mom and sister the very first thing i did upon waking up was BOLT upright and proceed to try and shove my ENTIRE fist in my mouth as fast as possible.

I had to be physically stopped, and i proceeded to sob my eyes out for the next 20 minutes. Somehow, i didnt damage anything 🤣

I repeat the BABIES are OUT OF THE NEST and I THINK they look like LITTLE. TUNNOCK’S. SNOWBALLS.

After a hell of a time weathering storms and nesting in a chimney pot on the same rooftop where she raised Cheeps.. his mother has successfully hatched not ONE, but TWO BABIES!!!

hard to believe that he's all grown up now and that the two little chicks on his rooftop right now are most likely his siblings :')

the baby seagulls living on our rooftops are starting to leave the nest!! I’ve seen multiple from both sides of the buildings windows who are getting lessons from their parents how to walk and fly AS I TYPE THIS !!!!!!!!!
