I've always considered the world to be my country and Canada my neighborhood. A global citizen. I have so many very good friends all over the world. I've never been homesick because I've never considered anywhere to be foreign. But this week I felt the panic as friends I hadn't heard from in a while got in touch with me to make sure I was safe while I tried to get back to my native country, where I have healthcare, trust in my government, trust in our systems. I work in an industry that isn't affected by much. Day in, day out, horses are cared for. But walking into the airport it was clear things were not okay. The lines to get onto the international flights to Canada were long while the domestic flights had no lines. Getting onto my flight I I was one of 21 passages, my second I was one of 19. Driving home I passed through parts of the States that did not change a thing while others were ghost towns. Getting closer to the border it was just transports and Canadians. An eerie feeling. My entire experience getting home felt like a prelude to an apocalyptic movie I don't want to be part of. I hope our world can return to normal soon. Learn some things, make changes for the better, and never take open borders for granted again.

Despite the awesome social media life I live, my main man has been going through some serious health scares. He got bad news in the fall and then when I returned home last week he was extremely sick. Unfortunately the world doesn’t stop turning and I’ve had to leave him again, this time in very capable hands to be loved on and maybe fattened up. It’s still scary to leave your sidekick when you don’t know what the near future will hold. #ifsocialmediawashonest #budthespud #lifewiththespud
