First time in Cabeswater

I wanted to portray the feeling of something new, magical and exiting but at the same time ancient. Cabeswater as a whole living organism, connecting each part of itself to another.

an incomplete list of photos in Ty’s phone

a picture of kit and dru from the night they conned barnabus hale. they’re both holding milkshakes and grinning around the straws, clearly proud of themselves

a selfie kit made him take of them, ’ just this one picture.’ kit’s grinning at the camera but ty is looking at kit, his face wearing some foreign emotion ty didn’t yet recognise

a picture of Julian and Emma before they left for their travel year, Julian with his arm around Emma and her arms looped around his neck. ty likes it because he can see the genuine unspoiled happiness on his brothers face and the love in Emma’s eyes, expressions rarely seen since the dark war

not strictly a picture but a video of mark discovering one of those pens that erase and being suspicious, confused and then amazed at the ‘witchcraft’ of it

many, many pictures of animals of all varieties. these include: 15 different lizards, 3 ferrets, a bear (from the scholomance), and 19 frogs

several pictures of his family at the beach , including helen, tavvy and dru building an elaborate sand castle together, julian teaching aline how to surf, emma with her eyes in pure bliss and her feet buried in the sand, helen asleep with a book on her face

after he goes to the scholomance there are lots of pictures of the library , which he takes to show his family just how many books there are, the view from his window (he thought dru would appreciate the gothic view of the Carpathian mountains)

as time goes on there are more and more pictures of his friends, candid shots of them laughing over a shared inside joke or working on a research project. eventually more pictures of ty appear in the photos, smiling at the camera (shyly at first but later with a bright grin that lights up the entire picture)

there is one picture of ty in his centurion uniform, standing with all his friends on the day of his graduation. julian took it (it’s a bit blurry because his hands were shaking with pride and happiness)

after he and kit reunite and eventually get together there’s a whole album full of pictures of the both of them

one of kit , just before waking up, sleeping peacefully, and then just after, him looking disgruntled and bleary eyed with an untameable bedhead

another of kit holding baby carstairs, grinning at her with so much love in his eyes

a third of kit frowning over a book on demon languages, his nose wrinkled in clear confusion. then after that of kit laughing as he noticed the camera pointed in his direction

a VERY blurry photo of kit eating his 7th donut from the cupboard and legging it out the room just as ty caught him ('you can’t hide your thievery from Sherlock, Watson’ 'no but I can try’)

kit holding the camera up and smiling at it whilst ty kisses his cheek, the happiness clear on his face despite it being turned away from the camera. ty liked that one so much he set it as his lockscreen. he recognises the expression on his face now. it’s love

While you’re gallivanting I’ll be managing father’s tax evasion scheme, pretending that cleaning up dream-object messes is just pick-up sticks with mother, and staying conscious and alert twenty-four-seven to make sure you don’t manifest a wendigo in the house because of a bedtime story you read.

anyway someone has probs already said this but I think the song lyric 'if I was born as a Blackthorn tree, I'd want to be felled by you, held by you, fuel the pyre of your enemies' (by hozier) is SUCH a blackstairs lyric like it really screams Emma and Julian to me

do you ever think about the fact that for the first time in his life, Kit opened up to someone and actually expressed his emotions and got SO humiliated that he literally moved to another fucking country,,,because that is a big fucking mood

So…centurion Ty. Am I the only one who loves this? Like, Ty loves peace and silence and the Schoolmance is isolated and very few people live in it, it has beautiful views to this lake and it’s gigantic. Imagine how many seacret corridors and door Ty could find in there and explore, making him feel like Sherlock. The tons of quiet corners he could find if he’s ever too stressed and needs to find a place to calm down. How he would adore the library with it’s random-ass tree in the middle he would totally spend hours reasearching on. The amount of bird’s nests in high-up nooks he could find and protect because he adores animals. Centurion Ty guys, really.

This piece may have its flaws but it makes me feel like I’ve improved in my art and that makes me happy. Detailed backgrounds are annoying but totally worth it.

I love julian and emma their beautifuly imperfect.
