More afro textured hairstyles forthcoming. I wanted to release a giant collection of them on Juneteenth, but life and work got in the way. We were afforded one extra paid holiday and Juneteenth won. Unfortunately it was too close to the actual day but it will start next year! For now I'm going to try releasing them by creator each day over the next week. :-)

Putting this question out there. Is there any way to make a skin detail default on every occult, like aliens for instance. I tried what I thought would work but it defaults on every Sim now, not just aliens even though it's supposed to be allowed for aliens only.

How to stop vanilla skins in your berry hoods

(aka how to have only certain custom/non-default skins generate on new townies and not your default skins)

Things you will need

Notepad to edit MCCC configure files

Essentially what we’ll be doing, is through MC Dresser, telling the game that you want it to only use custom skins (via a percentage), and which custom skins you want it to use, when it generates new sims/townies.

For a vanilla free berry hood, ideally you’d have 100% custom skins used, along with your berry skins as the “defined” skins.

Soooo hi this is awkward and I don't like doing this but our car is about to shit the bricks.

I've been having panic attacks about this for the past few days. We are a family of 3 with only one car. We are heavily babying it right now wich means my husband is unable to work and thats leaving me as the sole breadwinner for now.

I'm a stablehand and I only make about $900 a month and rent is $850, idk how Im going to do this.

I've already started looking for a 2nd job that I can ride a bike to but living in a rural area it's not looking great

I thought I'd reblog these since I'm planning on releasing a The Gamut XP recolor soon. I've been using the standard non-defaults and facepaint of the TGXP recolors in a lot of my previews but I'm still working on the heterochromia, which takes a while due to each life stage needing a different mesh and the textures needing to be re-alined for said meshes and my own choice to make them for each eye. Luckily I kept my psds to make it a little less painful, lol!

Welcome to Lifesaver Eyes 2.0

-Default replacements and extra swatches for all humans and occults. Still working on Vamps extras. HQ compatible. Photos are not taken with the HQ mod. Click on the links for high res images. Read more and download links under the cut.

-Lifesaver - Humans (111 swatches in total, including an albino and a blind eye) Facepaint version too.

-Lifesucker - Vamps (Just the DR for now...)

-Lunarhowler - Werewolves (several non-default, some glow. Black Sclera and White Sclera)

-Waverider - Mermaids (alot of non-defaults too)

-Lightsaber - Aliens (updated and with extra swatches)

and...

-A new set of Eyes, Just for Spellcasters! My Wandwaver Eyes. They are set for Random, for Spellcasters only and should be tagged for Genetics like all the others (except Werewolves?). There's a facepaint version available as well.

-Complete and Sectoral/Central Heterochromia for the human form. Apply the sectoral via Facepaint, adjust the colors OR opacity with sliders. I recommend using the opacity slider to blend. Then use the right or left Heterochromia located in Eyelid or Acne to cover one eye. See examples in the gif with Taffy (the blonde). The Complete Heterochromia conflicts with Bracelets because they're using the same texture space. All 111 swatches of the Lifesaver Eyes are there.

-Sclera Overlays for humans located in Occult Eye Socket or Face Scars. They don't work with Complete Heterochromia.

-Sclera Overlays for Werewolves and Mermaids. Some apply a glow!

All of these are available for Infant to Elder. (Except for Werewolf and Mermaid)

There's also a Zip file for Everythang! (Patreon only b/c SFS is having the issues right now.)

Requirements You will need: Sims 4 Studio Photoshop (however you choose to acquire it), or an alternative DDS Plugin (unless you choose to save files as PNGs) Blender (any version between 2.76 and 4.3 - I use 3.3) The Basics

Recolours and Textures

The easiest thing to start with is a recolour. If you have some knowledge of photo editing software, this should be fairly straightforward, but if you’re new to it, the following tutorial covers it well: Recolouring Tutorial - Softpine

If you’re feeling confident with your recolours, but want to add a little extra to your textures, it’s worth checking out specular and normal files.

Speculars are my favourite thing for elevating CC (by that I mean covering it in glitter and sequins). This tutorial covers the basics:

Normal maps (bumpmaps) are a little different. They can give a 3d texture to an item without altering the mesh (within reason). Teanmoon also has a tutorial on that:

If you’re feeling extra (I know I often do), you can use emission maps to make your item glow and/or flash/twinkle.

Meshing

Meshing is a little more complicated (or perhaps not, depending on what your strengths are. I recommend starting with the Blender Donut Tutorial (pick the one that matches your Blender version) to familiarise yourself with Blender. I didn’t do this. I went in raw from using Milkshape for over a decade (don’t start me on Milkshape lol) I would have learned faster if I did…

Once you’ve navigated the majestic plate of donuts, you might be ready for a touch of frankenmeshing! This tutorial covers the basics really well, as well as a touch of texturing:

Going forward:

So you’re feeling confident and want to mesh from scratch! There are 3980193890381 CC creators and a limited pool of meshes to frankenmesh, so you may want to create something new. Trust me, start with earrings and work your way down from there.
