Sunday January 1: New Year’s Day 2017. A New Day, A New Week, A New Month, A New Year. I started the day, as usual, in church, at a Watch Night [actually a ‘Holy Name’] Service at St. Andrew Parish Church. Later that morning, I travelled from Kingston to Ocho Rios, via Knutsford Express, where I met up with my friend Ann-Marie and from there we took public transportation, buses, route taxis, charter taxis, to Silver Sands, Trelawny, to spend the day with my cousin, who, in turn, was vacationing with her daughters, sons-in-law and grandchildren, who were visiting from the United States and staying at a villa there. I thought it was a fabulous day, Ann-Marie, my cousins, Smirnoff Ice, beach and a great dinner. Ann-Marie and I reached back to Ocho Rios very late, so I spent the night at her place and headed back to Kingston the next day.
