I am trying to not label myself as a natural because I don't want to bring a negative light to people who are not natural. I am proud I have built my body and am natural but I don't discredit anyone who is not. I take a whey protein isolate, my supplement list is short. I don't have a list of borderline things. I take it as a compliment because they don't understand that it can be done naturally. They think I am big because I use enhancements. At the same time, the minute I say I am natural they say I am not and discredit my work ethic. It is disheartening. I can't pee in a cup for everyone. It is a losing battle. I am not gonna be drug tested in this division so it doesn't even matter. It has taken me a long time and I will always be natural.

"I choose to compete in leagues where I’ve been polygraphed," she says. "I've been tested at WABA standards, which is actually Olympic-level drug testing."

2011 Ms. Natural Olympia Jodi Miller
Call it vanity. Call it sanity. But I have drawn my line, drawn it sharply, and so I have zero problems telling coaches or friends, "hell to the no," when certain suggestions are made that would help me reach that supposed magical level for my physique. I remember a time—back when I was natural—that a guy told me, "You don't want to win badly enough." I became livid with him. I spouted (and probably spitted in my rush to fling words and emotions at him), "That's ridiculous! I do want to win." But I am older and wiser now. I can admit it. There are some things more important to me than winning. My health.

Andrea Khoo
“When I was 27, I was surrounded by 50 of my closest friends at Sophia’s Thai Bar. As I was blowing out the candles on my birthday cake, I asked myself what is the one wish that would make me happy?” “I decided I wanted to be a pro athlete, a natural bodybuilder and figure bodybuilder,” Khoo explained.
