Back in October 2014, Kevin Morby released his second solo album, Still Life. Its title seemed steeped in irony, as the record comprises tunes written during 2013, a year he spent on the road with his bands Woods and The Babies and in support of his solo debut record, Harlem River. Morby had also recently transplanted from New York to Los Angeles.
Two weekends ago Morby and his crew came through Bandwidth’s off-site studio, the Wilderness Bureau, and treated us to a short set in front of a trippy installation made by BLK CHVRCH.
Watch “All Of My Life” here and check out “Miles, Miles, Miles” at bandwidth.fm.

Presenting…Typefighter live in the WAMU 88.5 studio!
The release of its 2013 single, “Much,” signaled Typefighter’s transition [from indie-folk band to fist-pumping rock troupe]—loudly. The track was a power-pop zinger, and one of the catchiest rock songs to come out of D.C. all year.
So of course, when the quartet stopped by WAMU’s studios to play two songs from “The End Of Everything,” “Much” was at the top of our request list. They gave us exactly what we wanted—then followed that great single with a high-energy take on “You When You’re Older.”
Both songs were a blast to hear in the studio, and today, we share both with you. Enjoy.
Watch both videos at bandwidth.fm.

"Merge Records artists Vertical Scratchers are somewhat new on the scene, but their members have been at it for some time. The California-based duo is comprised of John Schmersal–who spent time in Brainiac, Enon, Crooks on Tape, Caribou & Crooks on Tape–and Christian Beaulieu, of Triclops! & Anywhere.
Their songs are punk-quick shots of infectious pop goodness, and we were excited to host them at the Bureau. Check out this quick sampling of the band as they perform “Turn Me Out”, and “These Plains” from their debut album, Daughter of Everything."
