Under communism the wait staff will not ask if Pepsi is okay. You will not even find out that's its Pepsi instead of coke until you take your first sip. Unless you train like me, to know the difference from the sound of the Fizz alone, that is the only way we can beat communism and I can teach you. Take my hand. Not like that you grabbed it gay. Stop. Giggles. I SAID STOP

aragorn's terrible, horrible, no good, very bad week:
the fellowship breaks on his watch
forced to choose who to follow
runs over 200 kilometers in under four days
thinks merry and pippin are dead
meets the reborn gandalf (a rare win), immediately has to do a 180 and ride to edoras
immediately after that needs to ride to battle
takes part in a battle which takes place over the whole night
gets maybe 20 hours of sleep over the course of the whole week
and, I cannot stress this enough, this is all still very far from over

HELP WANTED: HAVE YOU SAVED THIS FIC?
hey to everyone who still follows this ancient blog. ive just realized that the fic World Enough, and Time by StoneWingedAngel has been deleted on both ao3 and ffnet. I am putting out a reward for anyone who happens to have this fic archived or saved in any way.  full summary of the fic below the readmore to help with the investigation as it were.
Here’s the snippet I pulled as summary in my post about the fic on this blog: “John’s morning starts badly, and it only gets worse, until it shatters his life completely and takes everything he cares for with it. The next morning is the same. And the next. As the past repeats itself John can only look at Sherlock in confusion and wonder what he knows that John does not.”
It’s a timeloop fic where John is the POV and Sherlock is the one trapped in the timeloop (so, from our POV, the events are new and confusing to John every time).
The plot is that there’s a bomb in John’s workplace. It goes off a couple times in loops before Sherlock starts trying to prevent it. In one memorable loop, he’s hit by a car (which John sees) and is carried inside John’s workplace with a bad jaw injury.
In a later loop, Sherlock kidnaps John and drives to a rural area, but they’re attacked by a gunman and Sherlock is shot and dies.
In the final loop, Sherlock nonchalantly disables the bomb. It was placed there to prevent John from testifying in court as a witness.
Those are the highlights, but for anyone who’s read it, I think that’s plenty of detail. I have more, though, if anyone needs it. I read that fic dozens of times.
Thanks to anyone who can help. I’ll live if i never see it again but i’ll be sad about it. I won’t post it anywhere, bc i respect that op wanted it deleted, but I would just really like to have to reread for myself bc its one of my favorite fics of all time.
The reward isn’t much but i’ll venmo you 10 USD lol

5+1 Things
What it says on the tin.  Not Johnlock. (one is 4 +1 sorry)
First Response - “Five times John had to perform first aid on Sherlock and one time Sherlock had to perform it on John. SPOILERS for both series and after. NOW COMPLETE”
The Three-Years Card - “Five times John played the "three years" card with Sherlock, and one time Sherlock played it with John.”
Five Times Sherlock Realized He Was Getting Older - “. . . And one time it didn't matter.”
If One Had Not Dined Well - “Or, "Five Times John Forced Sherlock to Eat."Easily read as friendship only or early Johnlock.”
I Do Believe - “Written for the post-REIC prompt: Five times Sherlock used a disguise to watch over the people he left behind, and one time he revealed himself.”
5 Times Sherlock Made People Cry (happy tears) Plus Once When John Made Him Cry - “Fluff written for a LJ prompt: "The five times Sherlock's done something so unexpected and kind, people have cried happy tears and the one time someone has moved him to happy tears."”
Searching For Fine - “Five times someone tried to "prove" to Sherlock that he wasn't actually asexual, and the one person to whom it didn't matter. Warning for attempted rape in part 3.”
Lay Thee Down Now and Rest - “Five Times John finds Sherlock sleeping in an impossible position and does not succeed in waking him, and One Time he doesn't even try. / Consisting of six snippets throughout the years, varying in length and content ranging from fluff and humour to hurt and comfort and back to fluff again. No slash, just strong friendship.”
Soldier On - “Four melodramatic ways Sherlock dreamed of finally returning to London, and the one rather boring (but a Bit Good) way it actually happened. Gen, fiveshot, basic conjectural spoilers for speculative S3, with a dash of ACD canon.”
And A Doctor - “It was only when people actually saw John working as a physician that they began to understand: that it wasn't just about bullets and IEDs and trauma care under fire. That "doctor" actually covered a pretty wide field. And that John was bloody good at covering ground. 5 times Dr. Watson treated others and 1 time he treated himself.”
Doing the Shopping - “Five times John took Sherlock shopping, and one time Sherlock returned the favour. Gen, spoilers for S2, answer to a fic request on LiveJournal. Warning for horrendous amounts of holiday fluff.”
Misdiagnoses - “Or, "Five Times John Misdiagnosed Sherlock, and One Time He Didn't." In which the author relentlessly humiliates John. No spoilers. Rating for possible language, and detailed references to disordered eating.”

Today’s Pick
Tick Tock by Provocatrixxx
"Demolition Charges," he says on a heavy out-breath, taking in the packets of C4 pushed into cracks in the brickwork. They’re wired together in a daisy-chain, and John traces the spirals with his torch-beam, following the wires up and up and up. They’re standing under Westminster now, beneath the Houses of Parliament themselves. The explosion, if it happens, is going to fell buildings for miles all around.
I re-wrote the Tube Carriage scene to take John's Afghanistan tours into account. I also modified the bomb to take reality into account. And I added some context, for fun. And sadness, for impact. And confusion, because I can.

Warstan
For those of you who like John/Mary.  Some were written after s3, some long before.
For Love Up Fic Writers Project - Day 11
As Long As You Stand By Me - “He'll wear his promise to Mary on his left hand and his promise to Sherlock on his right. And if John Watson is anything, he is a man of his word.”
Scenes From a Marriage - “The two most beautiful words in any language are “I Forgive.” -Stephen King, The Wind Through The Keyhole Or: A selection of missing scenes from His Last Vow.” Explicit scenes.
Coaptation - “Co`ap`ta´tion n. 1. The adaptation or adjustment of parts to each other, as of a broken bone or dislocated joint.” Warstan AU.
Mary - “In which Mary Morstan attempts to endear herself to Sherlock Holmes”
For all three of you - “Mary gets stuck with the worse imaginable birthing partner (Mycroft and Moriarty excepted). Sherlock copes surprisingly well. This is fluffy, light-hearted nonsense with occasional detours into slight;y heavier emotions. Oh, and it's a baby fic, so if you're not mad keen on those, this won't be for you.”
The Sign of Four - “Sherlock Holmes is back from the dead and ready to return to his old life. When a young woman from India asks for their help in locating her missing father it Sherlock hopes that this case will allow him and John a chance to return to their old routine, unfortunately things may have changed between him and John more than he'd aniticipated.Written for the moderndoyle challenge.”
Whatever it Takes.  Whatever Happens. - “Sherlock and Mary have a talk after Sherlock comes home from the hospital.”
Reigate Rituals - “‘What is it about you that people start going on a manic killing spree whenever you’re near?’In which Sherlock battles sickness, cows, a case and John’s new girl-friend Mary – not precisely in that order.”
Pieta - “He'd seen Sherlock asleep before, knocked out by pure exhaustion when he'd once again pushed his body, which just couldn't keep up with his brain, too far. He'd seen wrung out Sherlock, bored Sherlock, incensed Sherlock, disdainful Sherlock. He'd never, however, seen such a look of peace on his face before.A quiet, timeless moment.”
The World at Her Fingertips - “Apparently she was named after her mother, but she's not sure why. She could probably ask him, but he has enough secrets. And while he never lies to her, he doesn't always tell her the truth. Like about who shot him. From the pov of the Watson daughter.”
Seek Out the Unworthy - “Set after the events of His Last Vow - but this time, the plane carrying Sherlock off to Eastern Europe never turned around, and John's life is very different as a result.”
All In - “Mary had never expected to meet Sherlock Holmes, never expected to come face to face with the man John had placed on a pedestal in his heart, a place she could never even touch, much less dream of usurping. She was completely fine with that. She did not want to be John’s God; she wanted to be his wife.”
The Restart (and Other Emergency Protocols) - ““I have died for my friends once. His plan rests on the idea that I will do it again.””
Unexpected Developments - “Sherlock died almost a year ago, and in his will left everything he possessed to John Watson, planning to reclaim his flat and possessions when he had disposed of the remainder of the Moriarty syndicate. He did not, however, plan on John (ever the quick mover) actually getting married in the interim - and settling with his newlywed bride into Sherlock's flat!”
It’s That Day Again - “Sherlock gets a worrying text from Mary - hijinks ensue.Warning: Spoilers for S3, E2 (Addresses events only up to that episode, no further)”
Panacea - “He had been here before: numb and lost, a ship without its anchor and no compass to guide him home. He had stood at a fresh-turned grave and tried to understand how something he had thought would last forever had come to an end.Except that back then, it had been for Sherlock, and of course he had achieved the impossible; he had come back. Mary was beautiful, compassionate, witty and kind, but she wasn't that clever, or that cruel.Note: Please do not redistribute my fanfiction on other archives or sites such as goodreads or ebooks tree without my express permission. Thank you :)”
Green Improbable Fields - “Sherlock works out what he needs to be happy. But he knows he doesn't deserve it, and he certainly never expects to get it.”
Hamish - “Sherlock has decided it is time to meet his sixteen-month-old son.” The warstan is slow in coming but good when it does.
And Let the Well Run Dry - “Mycroft is wrong. It doesn't even take six months.(A loose retelling of the Orpheus & Eurydice myth.)”
A Secret Place - “While taking care of a concussed Sherlock, John makes some deductions of his own and discovers things he'd rather not know.”
The Holiday - “A month following an horrific, sadistic attack during a case, Sherlock is still physically incapacitated and emotionally damaged. A holiday is suggested, but even stuck out in the middle of nowhere, he and John happen upon a case that could make Sherlock begin to feel like his old self again - or could kill him.BBC Sherlock Reworking of ACD's Devil's Foot, with Illustrious Client in flashbacks. Scenes of violence and implied "off screen" sexual violence/sexual assault.”

Angst
If you’re feeling upset, don’t read these.  The fics will wait for you, don’t worry.  Not Johnlock or smut unless otherwise stated.
For Love Up Fic Writers Project - Day 10
Asymptotes - “From the Greek ἀσύμπτωτος (asumptōtos) which means "not falling together"”
Waking You Up - “Written for a prompt over on sherlockbbc_fic, part of which is: "John dies and Sherlock blames himself, so much so that the guilt begins to affect his life. However, he keeps getting dreams of John talking to him and assuring him that he's not dead." ” Johnlock
Last Words - “In the end, John knew exactly where things had started to go wrong. The first half of a double-fic collaboration between myself and bending signpost.”
Sunset’s Wake - “It wasn’t until that moment, when the dazed man in the practical black jacket came pushing through the crowd and into her arms, that she understood why she had been drawn outside St. Bart’s that day. Minor character POV on John during, and after, The Fall.(Now includes S3 tag)”
Please - “White, padded walls. Straightjacket. “Please, John.””
Post Mortem - “During a case, John, while being held hostage, is forced to swallow a poison. Once he dies, Sherlock's brain begins to deceive him and he is under the assumption that John's whole death was a dream. When he finds out it wasn't, things go south as Sherlock has to rip through a dream, within a dream, within a dream, to discover that he may already be too late.”
Terminal - “Sherlock watches John as he packs to move out of 221B.Based on this prompt on the kinkmeme:Sherlock is in love with John but John only loves Sherlock as a best friend and is in the process of moving out to live with his girlfriend (Mary or whoever you like).Sherlock is devastated, realising that their relationship will never be the same and that he'll be worse off than if he'd never met John because he'll never let someone get that close to him again, but trying not to show it as he watches John pack.Bonus points if Sherlock is asexual.”
Shell Shocked - “Following Reichenbach, John decides to return to therapy.”
The Beats in Between - “Sherlock thought he could spend two years away without any personal repercussions. As it turns out, he's not as infallible as he thought.”
Nadir - “Some things we aren't prepared to lose.”
The Universe in Her Mind - “She's seventeen and the world is too much.Sequel to 'The World at Her Fingertips'”
Vigil - “He promised he would never leave him. Only that he did.Benzodiazepine overdose: respiratory depression, hypotension, coma, death.“Greedy you,” he murmurs as he sits down on the bed, slow and careful not to disturb the position of the body. “You couldn’t have left some for me, could you?”It is strange; one would think that should it ever come down to this, the man would use his gun.“You never fail to surprise me, John,” Sherlock whispers softly before he settles down next to John, folding his body into a similar position, curled up against the cold and stillness. His eyes never leave the unmoving body next to him, the still damp mop of short grey-blonde hair, face overwritten with all the evidence like a crime scene. John, the scene of Sherlock’s own crime.”
Constant - “Sherlock has a cocaine relapse. No one really notices.”
When Your Belly’s in the Trench - “The next time that door opens, John Watson will kill the person on the other side.”
The Shallow End - “The shallow end is where one can see straight to the bottom, straight to the heart of every activity and every intention. It's where there is no space to hide anything; even kicked up dust settles before long. He hates it, hates it, hates it and yet here he is, perilously exposed and utterly out of control.”
mistake you make - “John is faced with the possibility of having to shoot and kill Sherlock in order to spare him a more horrible, painful death.”
And Let the Well Run Dry - “Mycroft is wrong. It doesn't even take six months. (A loose retelling of the Orpheus & Eurydice myth.)”
Slow Dancing in a Burning Room - “Sherlock teaches John to slow dance because, in a month, society dictates that John and Mary must be the first two people to dance on their wedding day. Of course Sherlock hates it. The dancing bit. And the losing his best friend bit. But he just puts on his annoyed face and teaches John to dance... because John's leaving him. Sherlock has to make the most of it.”
Thank You, John - “Sherlock's mind is a powerful thing, and will do whatever is necessary to ensure his survival, even lie to itself.Post-Reichenbach”
Fractured - “John's nightmares return with a vengeance, and Sherlock can't help but be worried. But what will happen when his concern ends up backfiring on him? And will John forgive himself?”
to sleep, perchance to never dream again - “John told Sherlock he knew what he'd say in his last moments: "Please, God, let me live."He never imagined he'd end up uttering the opposite.”
Nothing to Mourn - ““I was in love with you, once.”John’s world stopped. "You never said anything, if you were.""Of course not. That's obvious." Sherlock started to wander, touching this and that, picking up objects and examining them and putting them back down again. "I've never been much for sentiment."otherwise known as "Sherlock comes back from the dead with a head wound and retrograde amnesia and doesn't remember anything about John Watson."” Sorta Jonhlock.
Seek Out the Unworthy - “Set after the events of His Last Vow - but this time, the plane carrying Sherlock off to Eastern Europe never turned around, and John's life is very different as a result.”
Under the Veil - “After another successfully solved case, it’s snowing outside 221B. Inside, Sherlock’s thinking about poisonous poinsettias, while John contemplates the snow, composes a new blog entry in his head - and reminisces.”
Premeditated - “John and Sherlock are captured, tortured, and imprisoned - and eventually, they realize, there's only one way out.John looks at him with a confident smirk. They’ll get away because they always do, and Sherlock’s not yet found a situation he couldn’t think or charm or lie his way out of.And even an hour later when their captors come back and it starts all over again, when John looks at him with a sparkle of mirth from the eye not swollen and blackened and covered in blood, he assumes he’ll manage it this time too.” Johnlock.
Never Never Land - ““But you must be Wendy,” Sherlock told him seriously. “You will always be Wendy and I will always be Peter. That’s how it’s supposed to be.”“I could be Peter if I wanted to be,” John pressed and Sherlock laughed.” Johnlock.
Trust Issues - “John was abused as a child, and the scars never quite healed. De-anon from kink meme.”
The Blue Carboy - “It's nearing Christmas and John has a surprise visitor, one that leads to heartache and loss. Sherlock does what he does best. Set approximately ten months after Mary Morstan Watson's death.”
Road to Freedom - “The only thing that might have helped to keep Sherlock going while he attempted to destroy Moriarty’s network was the sound of John’s voice. Sherlock was used to talking to him out loud even if he wasn’t actually there, and he was also used to John answering him, at least inside his head.So why wouldn’t John answer him now, when he needed him so much?”
incessantly, softly - “Sherlock wakes up to an empty flat.Post-Reichenbach return Mystery-Spot-style. Because returning from the dead or being stuck in a time loop isn’t already angsty enough in itself. Not S3-compliant.” Johnlock smut.
An Innocent Man - “"And what about John Watson?" Sherlock had asked. He had expected a rather dull answer...after all, he had been away. He had not expected to hear that John had spent the past two years in prison. Series 3 AU. No slash.”
Cathartic - “When mysterious injuries begin appearing on Sherlock's body, but he refuses to tell John where they came from, John fears the worst: that Sherlock has fallen back on his old vices. Tensions rise between the two, but all is not as it seems.”
Only Human - “Sally Donovan didn't think she'd ever see Sherlock cry. No slash. Character death.”
A Facade Ended - “Alternate Ending to last episode. You know that person who we thought for a split second might be Moriarty? Well, he is.”
Gone is my Past - “John is an army bomb detection dog who has been turned into a human. Angst. No, really, angst.”
Dream - “One-shot Reichenbach short story. The dreamer was falling. The dreamer did not know who he was. The dreamer did not know where he was. But he knew what he was going to be. Dead.”
We Keep Falling - “After three years spent with dismantling Moriarty's web, Sherlock finally returns to London - and to John. John, however, after three years of thinking his best friend dead, does not react as expected and is not ready to forgive him, but sends Sherlock, alone and in need of his friend, away. When John finally comes to his senses, it might be too late./Prompt fill. Angsty.”
Brotherly Love - “In this AU, John and Sherlock are brothers in an abusive home. Sherlock truly has no idea what John goes through to protect him. There is no romantic attachment between Sherlock and John in this story, but sometimes family ties are stronger than any other ones. Trigger warnings: child abuse.”
In the Forests of the Night - “Speculative post-Season 2 fic written for holmestice on LiveJournal. After Sherlock's apparent death, John re-enlists in the QDG, an unwitting puppet in Mycroft Holmes's manipulations. There, he discovers that his allies might just be his worst enemies.”
Action Man - “Mycroft, Post-Reichenbach. He’d known long ago that Sherlock would never see forty. It was written all over him.”
The Seat of Reason - “Sherlock's misbehavior reaches its peak, and Mycroft makes a crushing realization about himself and his brother.”

Asexual Sherlock
These fics focus on Sherlock being an asexual or gray ace.  The only Johnlock here is romantic and platonic.
For Love Up Fic Writers Project - Day 9
It’s All Fine - “Written for Asexual Awareness Week.”
Green Improbable Fields - “Sherlock works out what he needs to be happy. But he knows he doesn't deserve it, and he certainly never expects to get it.”
what does the world get - “A women's magazine quiz leads Sherlock to investigate the nature of love.”
Trouble Sleeping - “The joys of sleeping together.”
Under the Veil - “After another successfully solved case, it’s snowing outside 221B. Inside, Sherlock’s thinking about poisonous poinsettias, while John contemplates the snow, composes a new blog entry in his head - and reminisces.”
Subtle Innuendos - “"You don't drink, don't smoke," John says, humming the old tune in his head. "What do you do?"”
A Black Ring - “Sherlock wears a black ring on his right, middle finger. John is the first to ask why.”
Peer Pressure - “John isn't interested, and he doesn't think Sherlock is either.”
The Adorable Lanky Man - “Four times John called Sherlock adorable. Shameless platonic fluff.”
The Naming of Things - “It should bother him, but it doesn't.”
A Relatively Quiet Night - “Sherlock's world hasn't changed with a proclamation, and oddly enough, neither has John's. It's just a relatively quiet night in 221B Baker Street.”
Never Never Land - ““But you must be Wendy,” Sherlock told him seriously. “You will always be Wendy and I will always be Peter. That’s how it’s supposed to be.”“I could be Peter if I wanted to be,” John pressed and Sherlock laughed.”
Phases of the Moon - “Sherlock's life is perfectly full without sex. (Or, Sherlock spends a week doing things that he enjoys and somehow manages to not insult anyone the whole time.)”
The Green Blade - “As a serial killer hits the headlines, the police are out of their depth and the next victim is out of time. With faith in Sherlock Holmes at an all time low, this is a case which will push loyalties to the limit... WARNING: COMMENTS CONTAIN SPOILERS!”
Black. Two Sugars. - “Everyone seemed to assume that Molly was in love with Sherlock Holmes, and it was so much easier to go along with it than to correct people.”
The Important Bit - “Just where exactly is the line between “to love” and “to be in love”? What difference is required between “flatmate” and “husband”? (Besides the rings, obviously.) No, the important bit is that they have each other. Thirty years, give or take, in an atypical marriage. Basically a long bit of platonic domestic fluff.”

Case Fics
What it says on the tin.  Not Johnlock or smut unless otherwise stated.
For Love Up Fic Writers Project - Day 8
The Colour of Wine - “Sherlock and John are both on record as believing the other to be "the best and wisest man" he has ever known. In this story John demonstrates his wisdom by asking something very particular of Sherlock, and Sherlock demonstrates a bit of his own with his answer. Oh, and he solves a murder, too. Set between A Scandal in Belgravia and The Hound of Baskerville.”
The Sign of Four - “Sherlock Holmes is back from the dead and ready to return to his old life. When a young woman from India asks for their help in locating her missing father it Sherlock hopes that this case will allow him and John a chance to return to their old routine, unfortunately things may have changed between him and John more than he'd anticipated.”
An Innocent Man - “"And what about John Watson?" Sherlock had asked. He had expected a rather dull answer...after all, he had been away. He had not expected to hear that John had spent the past two years in prison. Series 3 AU. No slash.”
Metacarpal Tunnel Syndrome - “'I know you for real,' John told Sherlock once. In this story, set between the first and second seasons, John comes by some of that hard-won knowledge. With a monster storm taking aim at England and a murderer on the loose, John and Sherlock pursue the killer into the sewers of London. What they find there is more terrifying than any human threat and could cost them their lives.”
The Qi of Hate and Love - “When an ex-con is intent on killing the three witnesses who testified against him, will Sherlock and John (and Mycroft and Lestrade) be able to stop him? The stakes are high - one of the witnesses is a Major Character.”
The Reigate Rituals - “‘What is it about you that people start going on a manic killing spree whenever you’re near?’In which Sherlock battles sickness, cows, a case and John’s new girl-friend Mary – not precisely in that order.”
Eddie Ricoletti and His Abominable Life - “John Watson is the man who cares. Sherlock Holmes is the man who doesn't. But he does make one exception. (This story is set in autumn of 2020 and is rated T for mature themes and language.)”
Nearer, My God, To Thee - “London is hit with a deadly flu epidemic, but John slowly begins to suspect that there is a more human agency at work. He, Sherlock, and Sarah must work together in order to identify and track down a ruthless killer.”
Gather at the River - “In the lot outside, John followed Sherlock a half-step behind. "Looks like we're not in Kansas anymore," he muttered."Kansas? We're in Utah, John. We've never even set foot in Kansas."---Only Sherlock would take a case as an excuse to go on holiday with John. When Mrs. Hudson's niece asks for help investigating the suspicious death of her fiancé in America, our boys are off to the desert Southwest (even though the case is barely a five). Breathtaking scenery, mortal peril, snappy deductions, and a moment of reckoning in Sherlock & John's friendship is the result.”
The Blue Carboy - “It's nearing Christmas and John has a surprise visitor, one that leads to heartache and loss. Sherlock does what he does best. Set approximately ten months after Mary Morstan Watson's death.”
The Devil’s Heart - “A man like Sherlock Holmes is considered a hero by some and a right bastard by others. But he also proves the adage that one can tell at least as much about a man from his detractors as one can from his friends. Here, Sherlock solves two crimes and one mystery, and inadvertently reveals a little about his enemies, a little about his friends, and quite a bit about himself.”
The Dangers of Dating - “Sherlock and John acquire a new client... with a very unusual problem.”
The Highgrove Ritual - “In solving a mystery in the country, Sherlock and John uncover more secrets than they expect, nearly at the cost of their own lives. Druids, a cipher, and archaic treasures add up to madness and death. "How much will you give? It demands a great toll" What will John and Sherlock have to pay to discover the truth of the Highgrove Ritual?”
First Construction - “John's plan had been simply to take Sherlock out for a pleasant birthday excursion, with no cases and no crime scenes. But, as it is said, man plans, and God laughs.”
The Trained Politician, the Cormorant, and the Lighthouse - “On holiday in Northumberland, John and Sherlock discover there are more things going on than are listed in the tourist's guide. What exactly is the dog doing in the night-time? How is the cormorant important? And how difficult is it to avoid drowning in a tidal current?”
The Bauble - “BBC Sherlock reworking of The Blue Carbuncle. Set after the return of Sherlock (But written before Empty Hearse was on, so it veers from the S3 canon). It's Christmas, and Sherlock & John are sent on a literal Goose Chase around London.”
Everyone Loves A Scandal - “Retelling of A Scandal in Bohemia, in which Sherlock meets his match and John laughs and laughs. If John had known they were in for celebrities today, he’d have made more of an effort to, well, put on trousers, for one thing.”
Doctor’s Doctor - “John Watson, late of Her Majesty's Army and specifically a tour in Afghanistan, is drifting in London, alone and without purpose, until he meets two very remarkable people who will test his loyalty and change his life forever. Written for sherlockrebang, summer 2012. Triplicate crossover/AU with ACDcanon, DW, and Sherlock. Features Thirteen!Sherlock and Weeping Angels. Gen.”
These are the reasons that I think we’re ill - “"No cases," says John. "We're on holiday."”
Lost For Words - “Sherlock is assaulted by an unknown assailant while John is away, leaving him with a severe brain injury. While his intellect and personality are intact, he's having trouble moving and speaking easily. John finds himself as the main source of support to a flatmate struggling to do the things he loves most. And Sherlock Holmes has never been the best of patients.”
Endgame - “A child psychologist is asked to sit in on the questioning of her client, a nine-year old boy, traumatised by finding his father stabbed to death. The child's mother is being held for the murder and the case against her looks water-tight, unless her son can be persuaded to tell what he knows. But the only way to communicate with the traumatised child is through his great obsession, chess, and only one detective speaks chess fluently enough to understand what he has to say.”
The Green Blade - “As a serial killer hits the headlines, the police are out of their depth and the next victim is out of time. With faith in Sherlock Holmes at an all time low, this is a case which will push loyalties to the limit... WARNING: COMMENTS CONTAIN SPOILERS!”

Fluff/Humor/Crack
Sometimes you need something lighthearted.  Not Johnlock or smut unless otherwise stated.
For Love Up Fic Writers Project - Day 7
Kidnapped: A Comedy - “This is what happens when you start counting up the number of times John's been kidnapped and think, wow. He must be an expert by now.”
Chat-Up - “Molly's first conversation with the mysterious genius who hangs around the hospital labs quickly becomes unbearably awkward. Prompt fill.”
Sherlock v Edna - “Sherlock and John. Edna Mode. NO CAPES.”
Dancing Queen - “Set after "The Sign of Three", John comes back to the flat after some shopping to find a dancing Sherlock Holmes, then some prank fun occurs.”
Bloomin’ Idiots - “Sherlock visits Mycroft in hospital and a discussion of language ensues.”
Security - “There is a hostage situation. Sherlock is helpful.”
First Time - “It's the very first time and Sherlock is understandably off-balance. Can John ease him through the experience?”
Essentially the Devil Incarnate - “After the wedding revelations, Sherlock takes the only sensible recourse…he breaks into his brother’s house and eats all his ice cream. Mycroft is surprisingly helpful. Spoilers for 3x02 – the Sign of Three.”
It’s That Day Again - “Sherlock gets a worrying text from Mary - hijinks ensue.”
Beautiful Ideas - “Mike knew what would happen if he introduced John Watson to Sherlock Holmes. He knew exactly what would happen, and he did it anyway.”
I Prefer to Text - “John has tried pretty much everything he can think of to stop people texting him that they’re Sherlock Holmes back from the grave and none of it has worked.”
Never Have I Ever - “John finds himself alone in the flat and decides to enjoy the quiet. At least until a very intoxicated Sherlock Holmes shows up.”
It’s the Coat - “What if John discovers that Sherlock's coat is more than just a coat? A one-chapter bit of light humor with sci-fi overtones.”
John Just Can’t Catch a Break - “The first time, it’s funny. Of course, the fact that he spends most of his time chasing around after Sherlock Holmes means that whatever gods govern the universe have decided that putting crime in his path is only right and just.John's trying to get home after a long day at work, so why won't crimes stop bloody following him everywhere he goes? And why can't Sherlock buy his own bloody milk for once?”
Sick Day - “Sherlock is sick. The staff at the surgery are excited. John is annoyed.”
Trouble Sleeping - “The joys of sleeping together.” Not Johnlock, despite what the title implies.
Peer Pressure - “John isn't interested, and he doesn't think Sherlock is either.”
Biological Imperatives. - “Two men in a baby shop. Philosophy and speculation ensue.”
Mary, Not Contrary - “Written for the prompt: Every so many months John's gender switches and he spends a couple weeks as a woman. While John's primary gender is male he's at peace with both sides of himself. John calls his girl self 'Mary Morstan' to avoid the attention of similar names. One of these cycles, John is distracted by a case and unable to 'go on vacation' or 'go to a medical conference' in time. Girl!John runs to avoid being kidnapped and studied by the government. Disappearing randomly on a case is apparently the worst way to try and hide from Sherlock Holmes.”
Cabin Fever - “A massive storm keeps John trapped in Baker Street with a half-blind (for science!), very bored Sherlock Holmes.”
It’s a Crime Scene! - “John tries to coax Sherlock out of a bad mood at a crime scene.”
Share and Share Alike - “Lestrade's not sure he's ever seen Sherlock eat on a case until John shows up. The two order for each other, switch and share their food, even feed each other, without really seeming to realize they do it.”
Goodbye, Irene - “For those of us who didn't like the ending of Scandal in Belgravia, the full story can now be revealed…”
This Cycle of Revenge is Not Going the Way I Planned It - “Someone is killing off Moriarty’s associates before Sherlock can get to them. Sherlock is Not Amused. Vaguely cracky.”
The Sherlock Problem - “Everyone knows that John Watson is a good doctor and enjoy having him around at the clinic. The only thing stopping him from being a truly great one is his odd tendency to run out of there at odd hours muttering something about Sherlock. Some of his coworkers try to figure out just what a 'Sherlock' is and if they need to call someone about it. Really, they're just concerned.”
Road Hazards - “Sherlock Holmes learns to drive. Mycroft may never recover.”
Fortune Favors the Wet - “Written for watsons_woes July Writing Prompt #13: One of those days.Things go wrong for John during a case.”
A Matter of Convenience - “When John is shot because of Sherlock’s arrogance, he wakes up to a very interesting surprise at the hospital. (Just a wee bit cracky; not slash unless you’re wearing the appropriate goggles.)”
Bored Games - “Sherlock is bored and John decides that they should play Cluedo. In retrospect, it was a truly awful decision.”
A Very Sherlock Musical - “So, you know how musicals are set in a world where people just burst into song every five minutes, and everyone around them automatically knows to join in with the tune and choreography? This fic is set in that world.John finds it extremely frustrating that Sherlock won't sing their theme song with him.” Johnlock.
Enduring, Quiet, and Calm - “At 2:37 AM, a feverish Sherlock decides to prepare a "romantic" dinner for John.”
Casual Intimacy - “Mary knows Sherlock doesn't like to be touched. She's seen him snarl and snap when his personal space is invaded, but she's also seen him interact with those he's closest to. She watches him with John. Her smile stays with her all day. One-shot.”
Go the F*** to Sleep, Sherlock - “Do you know the bedtime storybook called "Go the F*** to Sleep"? Yeah, that one! WELL, UH. So this fic is exactly what you're thinking.”
Innocent - “Sherlock and a baby.”
SLASHLESS: A JohnLock Fic That…Isn’t - “Sherlock Holmes and John Watson sound out their infinitely complex personal relationship and come to a not-so-very-surprising conclusion.(Psst: it's a parody!)”
Best Not To Be Repeated - “Of all the really stupid things Sherlock has done in his life, this one tops it all off. But then, "The Inexplicable" was too tempting to not at least try.”
Why Sherlock Never Gets Enough Sleep - “Whatever you were thinking based on the title, this is not a Johnlock fic. The only possible pairing is SherlockxSplashyFish...”
A Nobel Fandom - “It was that time of the year again. The leaves started to change, the weather got cooler, the Nobel Prizes were announced, and Sherlock Holmes allowed himself to indulge in fandomish behavior.”
The Rise and Fall of LOLSherlock - “John starts a new feature for his blog: LOLSherlock.”
Call and Answer - “In which Sherlock is excessively pale, John is incredibly ranty, and a lot of unnecessary tea is made.”
An Absolute Pain - “Coming home drunk to Sherlock Holmes was not, nor ever would be, a wise decision. Certain things, he would simply have to teach John the hard way.”
Part of the Family - “John and Sherlock take baby Watson out for the day. Friendship fluff with added baby.”
The Kids Are Alright - “John is struck with a memory from his teenage years. / / "You drew this," John grins, pointing to the little drawing on the paper. "You gave it to me when you were five. I babysat you."”
Cupboard Love - “The former army captain kept his resolve until the right side of his face was brushed with a shirt once again. He closed his eyes, heaved a sigh and gave in to the inevitable. Why do I do this to myself? John wondered.”
We Match - “Sherlock is shot in the shoulder while on a case with John. When they get to the hospital, Sherlock is given painkillers and becomes amusingly loopy. Loopy!Sherlock tells everyone how happy he is that he now has a wound that matches John's.”
Sherlock and the Baby - “Sherlock faces his greatest challenge yet; Caring for a young infant. T for possible language.”
In Inches - "That's the frailty of genius, John. It needs an audience."
The Adoption of John Watson Holmes - “Mummy thinks that John Watson is so good for Sherlock that she must make sure he stays with her son. If that means she has to force-adopt the man, then so be it.Mycroft is smug. Sherlock is horrified. John goes BAMF on everyone.”
An Unexpected Novel - “No dragon or consulting detective can resist the fascination of riddling talk and of wasting time trying to understand it. Even if it's a silly, pointless fantasy novel. And after all, Sherlock is BORED. Oneshot; Sherlock reads "The Hobbit." ”
The Only Emperor - “It never occurred to Sherlock Holmes that an ice cream shop might attract children.”
We’re Not a Couple! - “A series of oneshots about Sherlock and John in awkward situations. Friendship, no slash, despite the incriminating title. Fluffiness abounds!”
A Messy Business - “Story told through 221B drabble format, which I created for the ACD!Holmes fandom years ago. Written for LJ's Watson's Woes MiniWriMo. Kid!fic, so if that and fluff aren't your cup of tea feel free to skip this one.” Sequels are here and here.
