Tick Tock by Provocatrixxx

"Demolition Charges," he says on a heavy out-breath, taking in the packets of C4 pushed into cracks in the brickwork. They’re wired together in a daisy-chain, and John traces the spirals with his torch-beam, following the wires up and up and up. They’re standing under Westminster now, beneath the Houses of Parliament themselves. The explosion, if it happens, is going to fell buildings for miles all around.

I re-wrote the Tube Carriage scene to take John's Afghanistan tours into account. I also modified the bomb to take reality into account. And I added some context, for fun. And sadness, for impact. And confusion, because I can.

Endgame - “A child psychologist is asked to sit in on the questioning of her client, a nine-year old boy, traumatised by finding his father stabbed to death. The child's mother is being held for the murder and the case against her looks water-tight, unless her son can be persuaded to tell what he knows. But the only way to communicate with the traumatised child is through his great obsession, chess, and only one detective speaks chess fluently enough to understand what he has to say.”

For Love Up Fic Writers Project - Day 7

Kidnapped: A Comedy - “This is what happens when you start counting up the number of times John's been kidnapped and think, wow. He must be an expert by now.”

Chat-Up - “Molly's first conversation with the mysterious genius who hangs around the hospital labs quickly becomes unbearably awkward. Prompt fill.”

Sherlock v Edna - “Sherlock and John. Edna Mode. NO CAPES.”

Dancing Queen - “Set after "The Sign of Three", John comes back to the flat after some shopping to find a dancing Sherlock Holmes, then some prank fun occurs.”

Bloomin’ Idiots - “Sherlock visits Mycroft in hospital and a discussion of language ensues.”

Security - “There is a hostage situation. Sherlock is helpful.”

First Time - “It's the very first time and Sherlock is understandably off-balance. Can John ease him through the experience?”

Essentially the Devil Incarnate - “After the wedding revelations, Sherlock takes the only sensible recourse…he breaks into his brother’s house and eats all his ice cream. Mycroft is surprisingly helpful. Spoilers for 3x02 – the Sign of Three.”

It’s That Day Again - “Sherlock gets a worrying text from Mary - hijinks ensue.”

Beautiful Ideas - “Mike knew what would happen if he introduced John Watson to Sherlock Holmes. He knew exactly what would happen, and he did it anyway.”

I Prefer to Text - “John has tried pretty much everything he can think of to stop people texting him that they’re Sherlock Holmes back from the grave and none of it has worked.”

Never Have I Ever - “John finds himself alone in the flat and decides to enjoy the quiet. At least until a very intoxicated Sherlock Holmes shows up.”

It’s the Coat - “What if John discovers that Sherlock's coat is more than just a coat? A one-chapter bit of light humor with sci-fi overtones.”

John Just Can’t Catch a Break - “The first time, it’s funny. Of course, the fact that he spends most of his time chasing around after Sherlock Holmes means that whatever gods govern the universe have decided that putting crime in his path is only right and just.John's trying to get home after a long day at work, so why won't crimes stop bloody following him everywhere he goes? And why can't Sherlock buy his own bloody milk for once?”

Sick Day - “Sherlock is sick. The staff at the surgery are excited. John is annoyed.”

Trouble Sleeping - “The joys of sleeping together.” Not Johnlock, despite what the title implies.

Peer Pressure - “John isn't interested, and he doesn't think Sherlock is either.”

Biological Imperatives. - “Two men in a baby shop. Philosophy and speculation ensue.”

Mary, Not Contrary - “Written for the prompt: Every so many months John's gender switches and he spends a couple weeks as a woman. While John's primary gender is male he's at peace with both sides of himself. John calls his girl self 'Mary Morstan' to avoid the attention of similar names. One of these cycles, John is distracted by a case and unable to 'go on vacation' or 'go to a medical conference' in time. Girl!John runs to avoid being kidnapped and studied by the government. Disappearing randomly on a case is apparently the worst way to try and hide from Sherlock Holmes.”

Cabin Fever - “A massive storm keeps John trapped in Baker Street with a half-blind (for science!), very bored Sherlock Holmes.”

It’s a Crime Scene! - “John tries to coax Sherlock out of a bad mood at a crime scene.”

Share and Share Alike - “Lestrade's not sure he's ever seen Sherlock eat on a case until John shows up. The two order for each other, switch and share their food, even feed each other, without really seeming to realize they do it.”

Goodbye, Irene - “For those of us who didn't like the ending of Scandal in Belgravia, the full story can now be revealed…”

This Cycle of Revenge is Not Going the Way I Planned It - “Someone is killing off Moriarty’s associates before Sherlock can get to them. Sherlock is Not Amused. Vaguely cracky.”

The Sherlock Problem - “Everyone knows that John Watson is a good doctor and enjoy having him around at the clinic. The only thing stopping him from being a truly great one is his odd tendency to run out of there at odd hours muttering something about Sherlock. Some of his coworkers try to figure out just what a 'Sherlock' is and if they need to call someone about it. Really, they're just concerned.”

Road Hazards - “Sherlock Holmes learns to drive. Mycroft may never recover.”

Fortune Favors the Wet - “Written for watsons_woes July Writing Prompt #13: One of those days.Things go wrong for John during a case.”

A Matter of Convenience - “When John is shot because of Sherlock’s arrogance, he wakes up to a very interesting surprise at the hospital. (Just a wee bit cracky; not slash unless you’re wearing the appropriate goggles.)”

Bored Games - “Sherlock is bored and John decides that they should play Cluedo. In retrospect, it was a truly awful decision.”

A Very Sherlock Musical - “So, you know how musicals are set in a world where people just burst into song every five minutes, and everyone around them automatically knows to join in with the tune and choreography? This fic is set in that world.John finds it extremely frustrating that Sherlock won't sing their theme song with him.” Johnlock.

Enduring, Quiet, and Calm - “At 2:37 AM, a feverish Sherlock decides to prepare a "romantic" dinner for John.”

Casual Intimacy - “Mary knows Sherlock doesn't like to be touched. She's seen him snarl and snap when his personal space is invaded, but she's also seen him interact with those he's closest to. She watches him with John. Her smile stays with her all day. One-shot.”

Go the F*** to Sleep, Sherlock - “Do you know the bedtime storybook called "Go the F*** to Sleep"? Yeah, that one! WELL, UH. So this fic is exactly what you're thinking.”

Innocent - “Sherlock and a baby.”

SLASHLESS: A JohnLock Fic That…Isn’t - “Sherlock Holmes and John Watson sound out their infinitely complex personal relationship and come to a not-so-very-surprising conclusion.(Psst: it's a parody!)”

Best Not To Be Repeated - “Of all the really stupid things Sherlock has done in his life, this one tops it all off. But then, "The Inexplicable" was too tempting to not at least try.”

Why Sherlock Never Gets Enough Sleep - “Whatever you were thinking based on the title, this is not a Johnlock fic. The only possible pairing is SherlockxSplashyFish...”

For All Three of You - “Mary gets stuck with the worse imaginable birthing partner (Mycroft and Moriarty excepted). Sherlock copes surprisingly well. This is fluffy, light-hearted nonsense with occasional detours into slight;y heavier emotions. Oh, and it's a baby fic, so if you're not mad keen on those, this won't be for you.”

An Absolute Pain - “Coming home drunk to Sherlock Holmes was not, nor ever would be, a wise decision. Certain things, he would simply have to teach John the hard way.”

Part of the Family - “John and Sherlock take baby Watson out for the day. Friendship fluff with added baby.”

The Kids Are Alright - “John is struck with a memory from his teenage years. / / "You drew this," John grins, pointing to the little drawing on the paper. "You gave it to me when you were five. I babysat you."”

Cupboard Love - “The former army captain kept his resolve until the right side of his face was brushed with a shirt once again. He closed his eyes, heaved a sigh and gave in to the inevitable. Why do I do this to myself? John wondered.”

We Match - “Sherlock is shot in the shoulder while on a case with John. When they get to the hospital, Sherlock is given painkillers and becomes amusingly loopy. Loopy!Sherlock tells everyone how happy he is that he now has a wound that matches John's.”

Sherlock and the Baby - “Sherlock faces his greatest challenge yet; Caring for a young infant. T for possible language.”

In Inches - "That's the frailty of genius, John. It needs an audience."

The Adoption of John Watson Holmes - “Mummy thinks that John Watson is so good for Sherlock that she must make sure he stays with her son. If that means she has to force-adopt the man, then so be it.Mycroft is smug. Sherlock is horrified. John goes BAMF on everyone.”

An Unexpected Novel - “No dragon or consulting detective can resist the fascination of riddling talk and of wasting time trying to understand it. Even if it's a silly, pointless fantasy novel. And after all, Sherlock is BORED. Oneshot; Sherlock reads "The Hobbit." ”

The Only Emperor - “It never occurred to Sherlock Holmes that an ice cream shop might attract children.”
