I don't mean this to be rude because I think IIFYM makes a lot of sense and is a lot healthier of a mentality than clean eating. But do you think it is possible to develop disordered eating habits by constantly counting everything you eat and becoming obsessed with hitting your macros perfectly? (I don't mean you specifically, but a person in general.)
You can't really develop disordered eating habits because you basically eat what you want ? And if your macros are high enough and if you don't restrict them, it's totally fine. But yeah, it can become a bit stressful, for example, if you go out and don't have enough or any macros left and people offer you food/drinks, etc. Other than that, I think it's a must to count macros if you're into bodybuilding.

If you have reached your calorie intake but not your macros in carbs/ proteins extra do you still eat to reach them or what do you do?
Yes, you have to reach them. When you have setted macros, your calories can fluctuate by 100 depending on the food you choose.

What do you think about my eating: I eat normal, healthy home made food 6 days a week and once a week I let myself eat something else, like go to mcdonalds?
How do you want me to answer that when I don't even know the type of food, the portions, your gender, age, height, weight, activity level ? Jeeze.

If you want to keep eating ''clean'' because that's what makes you feel good, than FINE, do it !
Do what works for you ! But I know for a fact that a human being CAN'T simply eat that way all their life. We are human, we like treats and yummy food, and sugar, that's in our genes.
And wanting to ''eat clean'' all the time can lead to binging, and other eating disorders.
In my opinion, eating 70-80% nutrient dense food and allowing yourself 30-20% indulgences is much much healthier than eating ''clean'' all week and than binging really badly one day and then restricting yourself the day after.
Just my opinion.

sorry i did read the article, i was just a little confused because you used to be a huge advocate for clean eating, and have recently changed to flexible dieting, so i need a little time to adjust to this new phase and understand it a little better. sorry this sounds sassy but i really don't mean it to be.
This is not a ''phase'' I'm going in, I have done my research and learned. Science and logic, they always win.

I have a q about the article. I get what they are saying about weight loss calories in v out. but if i am a healthy weight, and just want to eat healthy wouldn't it be more healthy to eat mostly unprocessed food. im not trying to lose weight but i don't want tons of chemicals polluting my body. i know it wont kill me, but there is so much added sugar and salt in processed foods, isnt it better to limit this
Did you actually read the article ?
There is no such thing as ''chemicals'' in our food and no it is not ''polluting your body''. Yes, eat most of your food from nutrient dense food, but don't be afraid to eat your favorite food in moderation.
Of course, don't eat cake, candies and junk food all day, that was so not the point of this article. But if you want to eat some, then go eat some, just don't binge and use moderation.
