the male gently dropped the blonde’s hand after realising, from the tone of her voice, that she wasn’t exactly happy. he frowned and tilted his head in confusion. it wasn’t that he expected joanie to wait for him, he just never assumed she would get into a relationship with somebody that wasn’t him, as selfish as that may have sounded. “but you knew i was breaking up with charley, because i wanted to be with you?” he ran his fingers through his hair before walking towards her. “i didn’t mean to hurt you.” nixon whispered before pulling the female towards him. “i didn’t mean to be selfish either, i just -- i didn’t wanna hurt charley. i’m sorry i made you wait so long, but i thought you were ok with that. you never said anything. joanie, i love you.”

the kiss lasted a few seconds which slightly disappointed the male, not that he was expecting to have sex this soon, he just wanted to keep kissing her. due to being stunned in admiration, nixon’s eyes remained closed for a small number of seconds after the kiss had ended. as tessa began speaking and he felt her warm hand on his cheek, he reopened his eyes to stare into hers. after she finished asking her question, the red head slowly looked down at his hands, of course he wanted to be with her, just the two of them. no interruptions. but this is something he’s never done before, tessa would be his first serious relationship, he wasn’t sure if he’d be able to handle it. he took hold of the female’s hand once more and gave it a slight squeeze. maybe he couldn’t handle it, but he was sure as hell going to try. “yeah,” he replied. “i’ve never actually done this before, but i wanna try for you, tess. me and you always.”

joanie had taken some much needed time away from nixon and the entire situation to clear her head; today was the first time in what seemed like forever that she’d be seeing him. they had texted back and forth, and even called a few times, but hadn’t met face to face in quite a while. she was excited, yet nervous      nervous because their were still obvious feelings, and nervous because she may have been talking to someone new. it wasn’t anything serious, just a few dates here and there, but she wasn’t quite sure how to break it to nixon. upon hearing his car she met him at the door, greeting him with a small smile. “hey, nix.”

much to the red head’s dismay, the pair had some time apart. joanie had to figure out her feelings and nixon had charley and his unborn child to take care of. after awhile, the two decided to cut ties as their hearts just weren’t in it anymore but nixon promised he would always be there for her and the baby, those two would always be his first priority. but now, nixon was truly single and he couldn’t wait to tell the love of his life the good news. they could finally be together! nixon was beaming when he arrived at joanie’s place and the girl was waiting for him at the door, he gave her a quick hug and grabbed her by the hand -- pulling her into her home, eager to tell her the news. “so, guess what? i’ll tell ya,” he said, excitedly without even giving her time to guess. “me and charley talked and we decided to break up, i’m obviously gonna be there for her and our daughter and stuff       oh yeah, we’re having a girl by the way. anyway, i’m single so now we can be together, right?” he asked, turning around waiting for joanie’s response.
