Tips for when using acrylic paint to make a battle jacket? I have my paint and some bands in mind that I want to do patches for but I dread making so many mistakes.
Yeah!!! My method can be pretty time-consuming but it's helped me a lot and doesn't require cutting stencils or anything like that:
Make a document with pictures you want to make patches of. You can do various sizes, I usually end up with several pages' worth. Make sure that the part of the artwork you're actually going to paint is black so save you some ink (you can invert colors easily online).
Print out the pages, then cut out your images and lay them on the pieces of fabric you intend to paint. I like using scraps from t-shirts. You can glue the corners or safety pin them to keep the two layers secure if ya want.
Then, get an orange or peach colored pencil and draw on the black parts of the image (use pressure!). When you're done, remove the paper and you'll see the image transferred onto the fabric in orange.
From there I just get a paintbrush and some white acrylic paint and fill in the orange parts!
This is my method, there's tons out there and I'm sure mine is not nearly the most efficient. Hope this helps give you some ideas though!

This week’s goth music showcase is dedicated to Harsh Symmetry!
This is a post-punk/darkwave project from Los Angeles released through Fabrika records, home to Selofan, Lebanon Hanover, She Past Away*, and several others. My favorite songs are Pugilist and Like an Opiate.
If you like Clan of Xymox, Twin Tribes, and Boy Harsher you will love this album!
*P.S. Doruk Öztürkcan of She Past Away mixed and mastered this LP!

I assure you, I’m not put together at all. Nor am I broken. I am recovering - finding the beautiful in the ugly and stitching it into my life.
