once again incensed at how news/information is shared. wildfire last week? updates either came from the local news (about 8-24 hours behind developments) or my wildfire app which links to twitter updates from firefighting orgs. crash on the interstate shutting down the road all morning? good luck finding any details off of twitter. nothing specific in the local papers. (yes, the dept of transportation has traffic cams, yes they helped. not the point.)

i have not logged into twitter in a Hot Minute and i do not plan to. why is all the news there???

you cannot see comments without being logged in, which means if you get a link to a thread, you cant see the whole thing. you cannot see profiles posts in order, so if i go to the dot/fire dept/ whatever profile for live updates, you can only see their popular posts from years ago.

i just like. i am pissed off enough that i simply wont be logging in again. i suppose if i drive directly into a wildfire, thats my b.

i think one of the most frustrating things about the “share pronouns in a circle” phenomenon, as someone who teaches, is it has been so entrenched in the “canon” of the “progressive toolkit” that when you reject it for very good reasons, you recieve pushback for not giving space for pronoun sharing, so you just end up doing it anyways. and it really ignores the way it makes a spectacle if there are only a handful of trans people in the room, or even worse, only one

I would still use my turn signals in the Mad Max Wasteland. They'd call me "Signal" because I'd hit my blinker before ramming the enemy hot rods into the side of a desert ravine. I'd use my turn signal every time. They would respect me for this.
