#TombTok (Tweaked AI Image)
I'm not a huge fan of AI, BUT if I want to post an image generated by it on any given social media platform, I would always tweak the image with personal touches.
I made this work of digital art in response to the Supreme Court's decision to urge China-based ByteDance to cease the availability of downloads of the app TikTok in the USA tomorrow earlier today, Philippines time.
The recent decision sent shockwaves through the digital landscape. This ruling, made in response to concerns about national security, aims to curb the influence of China-based ByteDance, the parent company of the popular app.
It follows a series of investigations and debates over the potential misuse of user data by TikTok. Lawmakers, cybersecurity experts, and even parents have raised alarms about the app's data collection practices, suggesting that sensitive information could be accessed by the Chinese government.
This has fueled a broader discussion about the control and regulation of technology companies, especially those with international ties.
In addition to the immediate halt on downloads, the Supreme Court's ruling mandates that current users will gradually lose access to the app. This phased approach aims to minimize disruption while addressing the underlying security concerns.
The Court has also called for a comprehensive review of other apps with similar data privacy issues, signaling a potential shift in how digital platforms are governed in the future.
In response, I enhanced the AI-generated image of the tomb through GIMP (a free photo editor) via adding two inverted torches with bows apiece anchored by the TikTok logo. I further tweaked the image using an artistic form of faux HDR to give it a mournful depth.
As Victorian funerary symbolism attests, the images of the two TikTok logo-emblazoned inverted torches flanking the tomb's entrance alludes to the users repurposing their content on other platforms as the app becomes unavailable by tomorrow.
I too also will delete the app in solidarity with the Fil-Am influencers who are deeply affected by the ban. May they be successful in other platforms.
Correction: TikTok was actually released in the USA in 2017. But anyway, I listened to the whole of BWV 198 (the 1989 Monteverdi Choir/Eng. Baroque Soloists recording) today in honor of the app's run stateside. Whether you hate countertenors or love them, Michael Chance's account of the alto aria best suits the mood of several influencers' reactions today.

🌟 New
We added some deduplication logic to the activity feed. Now, if you get mentioned in your own post, or on a post you’re subscribed to, you will only see one notification!
We expanded the Community header when viewed on web in a desktop browser to take advantage of the extra available space!
🛠 Fixed
Tumblr Premium subscribers were briefly not able to use their monthly perks, this has now been fixed!
Tumblr Supporter subscribers were briefly not able to cancel their subscription, this has now been fixed!
Custom domains were briefly renewed with invalid SSL certificates, this has now been fixed!
🚧 Ongoing
We’re aware that some people in the Philippines are having trouble accessing Tumblr or images on Tumblr. We’ve reached out to the affected ISPs and their government regulatory agency, which is all we can do for something like this. While we can’t remove or circumvent any blocks placed on Tumblr by an internet service provider or a government agency, we are monitoring the situation and hope that it is resolved soon.
🌱 Upcoming
We’re working on a lot of things for communities! Up next are the ability to ban members permanently, which will allow us to open up the option to make communities free-to-join, no invite required. More discovery options and feed improvements to come along with that.
Experiencing an issue? Check for Known Issues and file a Support Request if you have something new. We’ll get back to you as soon as we can!
Want to share your feedback about something? Check out our Work in Progress blog and start a discussion with the community.
Wanna support Tumblr directly with some money? Check out Premium and the Supporter badge in TumblrMart!

My 6th grade project was sewing sachets of treats for the troops. Hadn’t I done that, I wouldn’t have made 3 Fish Extenders for my 3 of 5 Disney Cruise Line voyages so far.
Here’s my latest, specially made for a voyage on the Disney Fantasy last December. Because it was a Very Merrytime Cruise, I went with a hotfix rhinestone design of Maestro Forte from Beauty and the Beast: The Enchanted Christmas.
Note: You don't have to know how to make anything fancy. Just do you know the basics well enough to at least get started?

DIY Project: Blinged Jeans 💎👖

Blinged jeans are IN (and can be very expensive at that), but with the right tools and creativity, you can make yours at home. Dolce and Gabbana had a pair for $10,000 😳 you can make it for a fraction of that, let me show you how 😉
💗 What you will need:
Hotfix Applicator set
This set comes with everything you will need to get started!
You will also need a pair of jeans you're willing to use for this project. I personally LOVE going to the thrift store for this because its cheaper and I can buy more than one pair if I make any mistakes or errors.
Read the directions included in the set to properly apply the rhinestones to the jeans. Some applicators have different settings, so keep that in mind. I love that this set has a manual to help you with the process.
Once you have your materials, start your project!
You can either make these to wear or sell them. As I stated before, there are some I've seen selling for as little as $2,000 to $10,000.
Let's get started!

I am creating some color palettes - most of them are created by two apps I religiously use, and then alter most via GIMP.
My two apps are:
Real Color Mixer
And
Coolors (have only the free version, but will subscribe to the Pro version if I can afford it).
My first palette I curated is Positively Down the Shore. Not only is it obviously beach-themed, but it would remind one of the days when NJ PBS was a different thing back in my birth year of 1989:

IF YOU KNOW WHAT I MEAN.
