I dont know how White fandom ppl will watch a movie or series with like a 99% nonwhite cast & a plot focusing on them & their culture, but instead will hyperfocus on the one or two White characters (often ones that are there specifically to be the villians and are racist) that are there and then not think that that's weird

I love this photo so much. Too often our ancestors of Turtle Island were depicted solely as stoic warriors, mystical shamans, and grief-stricken mothers. Even today, Indigenousness in the media is wrapped up in genocide + colonial violence, oppression, and pain. So much endless, public pain. Rarely do outsiders get to glimpse the intricate threads of joy, connection, and love that are weaved so brilliantly throughout our collective communities. We have always been more than the things they did to us.
