‘Powering On’

I blink once. Twice. Three times. But my sensors aren’t recognizing the area. Are my scanners malfunctioning?

Whatever.

My name is T0M-109. I was created as a spying tool by..

I can’t remember.

Is my memory card chipped, perhaps? I don’t know who created me, where I am, or how I got here. Anyways, the reason we’re so amazing at spying is due to our size. Standard size is around 12.7 cm (5 in). That’s why its so difficult to spot us.

It seems I’m on a desk of some sort. A cup is laying on its side with art supplies spilling out. Many papers rest scattered around.

I hear footsteps, and someone I don’t recognize opens the door. A tall man, definitely above the average height, with long pink hair and a crown resting atop it.

He looks down and and smirks.

‘Anger Detected. Proceed with Caution’

Well, seems my scanners aren’t broken, if they managed to detect anger. May just be my memory card then.

“You’ve finally powered on. Thought you were broken for a sec. Nah, you’re not lucky enough.” The unknown man states, and glares at me. “Anyway, I’m gonna ask you some questions, and you better answer truthfully.”

I nod. My memory card may be broken, but I still know not to be a dumbass and provoke hostility in someone. “May I say something though, sir?” I ask. The man thinks for a second before nodding. “I believe my memory card is broken, all I can remember is my ID and what I was made to do. I cannot recall who created me, where I am, and why I’m here.”

In an instant, pain surges through my body as he harshly grabs me in a fist. My touch sensors are working I guess, though I kind of wish the didn’t.

“You expect me to believe that? How do I know you weren’t just programmed to say that in situations like these?” he snarls at me. “If I’m honest, there’s no way of being able to fully convince you I’m being truthful. You may be able to check my memory card and see if its broken, though.”

The taller man loosened his grip slightly at that. “..Fine. But if I find out you’re lying..!”

I just nod.

‘Powering Down…’
