It is inspired by an actual comic though, Pogo Possum by Walt Kelly! The Lousy Lizard is Albert Alligator from the comic.

It clicked when I saw them on the raft at the end, of all things.

this was when some kind of demon in the 13 ghosts series trapped scooby doo in the sunday comics and the show had to make up its own copyright friendly comic characters and I've remembered this dumb song for decades. I also remember that I was like a tiny little kid and something about platypus duck inexplicably made me uncomfortable. Just felt wrong. I think I knew he was made up for the show and not a real comic? And for some reason that just bothered my brain. Also that he was mostly the same color as my skin perhaps. I didn't like that either. Don't like it now.

I love Gideon so much, the dialogue on this page was hilarious (and oh my gosh relatable, the backlash after a social interaction like that and reliving it when you're trying to get some dang sleep!) and I love his melty face, that is adorable. In my top favorites of your pages too, this is definitely one that I remember making me laugh out loud!

Happy Halloween! Here’s a page from my comic Krazy Noodle Massacre where Gideon has a paranoid flashback to an interaction he had with Dempsey earlier in the day. This is one of my favorite pages I’ve ever done.

That panel is so adorable, and aaaah this poor girl! (I may know a thing about "not normal reaction but this is happening anyway" cuz oof that is relatable, I think everyone who has worked with an art program and had that "when did I last save this..." moment when it crashes feels this!)

Oh dear. I think one of the few things worse than becoming so invested in a game that it becomes the sole defining feature of your life, is knowing that the devastation isn't a normal reaction, but being subject to it anyway.

In March of 2020 the US went into lockdown. COVID19 was announced to be a global pandemic and disabled people, the most vulnerable group through out all of this, have suffered greatly every since. We all heard, and continue to hear, the statements between waves of variants stating “It’s only those with pre-existing conditions who are dying now!” Why has that been okay? Why do people think that it is alright that their disabled brothers, sisters, siblings of the world have still been dying throughout all of this? We are NOT disposable.

Neila!! The detail of that body-horror stuff going on in this illustration is amazing, seeing an actual kitchen sink in there made me laugh! This looks super cool! 

Read several chapters of Book of CoL to a friend today over Discord. She's enjoying it so far which has me excited to work on the series more.

I'm more and more hopeful that people will ACTUALLY READ IT unlike so many of the other things I've worked on or made.

Gonna work on an illustration for it some and maybe squeeze in some writing today too.

Drachronon Update: Chapter 9 Page 7

First post on a new account! Been a fair few years since I've been on Tumblr, thought I'd give it another shot! I make webcomics, probably going to be posting other stuff too. Currently wishing I'd started here with a page that doesn't focus mostly on non-main characters... That out of the way though, LINK TO THE WEBCOMIC PAGE ON COMICFURY! These are nice character sheets, I especially like the alternate outfit refs!  The little “dapper Tan” made me giggle, it’s a good look for her! 

Just posting some of the revised character ref sheets from Drachronon Kind of missing a few things from some of them, and still got some left to do!

Oh, they used these things to bribe children into selling magazine subscriptions in school fundraising drives in the 90′s! I showed this to my husband and it unlocked the same memories for him! They’d give you a reference sheet of all the potential ones you could earn if you met a certain sales goal. I distinctly remember the big plastic bag of these things they hauled out, they were “plain” Weepuls (as in, none of the “cool” ones that had like, sunglasses or something) they handed out as a consolation prize for the kids that didn’t make the sales goal. Mine was yellow.

Oh that is cool! I love how birds look when they sing, all those feathers in the front all puffed out!

That is curious about the call not being listed, I’ve had trouble trying to ID birds by call because sometimes it seems like they’re either incomplete or describe the call differently than I would. Also, the site I went to didn’t have audio as good as your video here. In spite of the background noise I can hear this bird loud and clear! I went to a site once and the bird audio was all like, incredibly loud wind with a guest appearance of faint beeping!

Yellow Breasted Chat Song! My first sighting. This is such a cool bird. I’m so excited about this video. I heard it singing for a long time before I finally saw it. 

 I wasn’t sure if this was a chat at first because I couldn’t find one making that whistle call at the beginning and end of the video. After looking through all the similar species and listening to their songs I am pretty confident this is a yellow breasted chat. As far as I can see there is nothing quite like it. The rest of it’s song sounds like the songs that are listed for this species. I don’t know why the whistle call isn’t included. I don’t know much about them yet so I wonder if they mimic other bird calls like the European starlings.
