Keep Grey Hair at Bay – Find out What we use to boost our Natural Catalase Levels
What Is the Catalase Enzyme? How Will it Benefit My Hair?
Is your hair beginning to look like it needs some TLC? Is the dry colder weather upon you, sucking the moisture out of your hair, making it all frizzy?
Are you getting on in years and seeing the first signs of grey hair? We think you may like this natural hair care solution.
As we get older and for some people, during certain illnesses, your natural catalase enzyme (See the Wikipedia Explanation of Catalase)production diminishes. This results in lacklustre looking hair that also starts losing it’s vibrant colour and can sometimes lead to grey hair.
The Catalase Enzyme
Catalase is an enzyme that is found in all living organisms exposed to oxygen. Catalase is naturally produced in the body. It’s function is to break down harmful chemicals such as hydrogen peroxide to hydrogen and water.
Catalase Functions:
Anti-Oxidant
Cell Protector
Catalyst
Oxidifier
Natural Moisturizer
Catalase also breaks down:
Formaldehyde
Phenols
Alcohols
Formic acid
Acetaldehyde
All of these chemicals are present in the air around you, they may be present in the products you consume, touch, wear and interact with. Catalase is your natural protector, taking care of the bad stuff, so that you can live normally.
When your catalase enzyme levels are diminished however, you can run into problems. But, using catalasenow, you can rest assured that you are getting your required levels of catalase enzymes restored (as long as you remember to take it)
What’s in the Product?
Catalase – 5000 iu
Copper – 1 mg
Zinc oxide – 10 mg
Saw Palmetto – 300 mg
Vitamin B-6 – 10 mg
Horsetail – 100 mg
Plant Sterols* – 100 mg
Folic Acid – 400 mcg
Para-Aminobenzoic Acid – 200 mg
Chlorophyll – 20 mg
Biotin – 300 mcg
L-Tyrosine – 200 mg
Fo Ti – 20 mg
Pantothenic Acid – 300 mg
Nettle Root Extract – 100 mg
Barley Grass* – 20 mg
The list of compounds in the product help with the maintenance and strength of your hair. Although you may be wondering if any of the metals present in the ingredients listed will inhibit the catalase functioning, in this case, the metal levels are sufficient not to inhibit the catalase function.
All the other natural compounds, such as vitamins, herbal extracts and chlorophyll all work as antioxidants to ensure that all damaging free radicals are stopped in their tracks.
You deserve to look young, vibrant and gorgeous, with awesome hair well into your golden years. Stop putting harmful hair dye onto those naturally gorgeous locks, and try catalasenow.

Nature Contains all the Energies we need to feel more Energized and Invigorated
After being shut in your box for most of the day, it feels so enlivening and invigorating to step out into the fresh air and feel the sun on your skin. The way the air blows through your hair, playing with your locks. The cool breezes raising the goosebumps on your skin.
Walking barefoot, you have the grass under your feet, pushing between your toes and when you get to puddles of water, feeling the water between your toes.
There is just something magical about being reconnected to nature. It reminds us that we are a part of nature, even though we think we are separate.
By tracing mankind’s interactions with nature across generations and cultures, back to the age of Cleopatra, through the transcendental exploration of Muir and Emerson, all the way to groundbreaking research being done by scientists, physicians, and policymakers of today, she found that the answer couldn’t be relegated to a sentence or two. Every aspect of time outside—the sounds, the sights, the smells—plays a part in making us happier, healthier people.
The neuroscience of nature.
The research Williams found was clear: Being outside in greenery calms us down and cheers us up. It reduces our stress levels, increases our productivity, and gives us more energy.
One study out of Japan found that taking a walk in the woods as opposed to the city delivered a 12 percent decrease in cortisol levels, 7 percent decrease in sympathetic (fight-or-flight) nerve activity, and 6 percent decrease in heart rate, not to mention a better mood overall.
And the good news is you don’t need to be a hard-core hiker to reap some of these benefits. Even looking out at greenery through a window has been shown to increase productivity, reduce stress, and lessen aggression. Research is now being done to see if exposing stroke victims to patterns in nature can help restore brain function, and a prison in Oregon is using videos of ocean and desert scenes to help inmates calm down.
Blame it on our smartphones and increasingly tight schedules, but in the United States, we’re spending less time outside than ever before.
Williams was most surprised to learn how far-reaching nature’s influence is. Time outdoors can change not only the way we feel about ourselves but the way others perceive us. “It can make you more civilized in some ways, in terms of making you a more empathetic, more compassionate person. It can make you a better listener and make you feel more connected to your community and to other people around you,” she tells mbg. “A lot of that comes from the science of awe, which is a relatively new emotion to be studied, and 70 percent of the time people experience awe, it’s from being outside in nature.”
The park Rx.
Countries around the world are using these findings to inform their national policies. Williams writes of everything from a National Forest Plan in Korea, which offers prenatal classes in the woods and kindergartens immersed in the forest, to Health Nature Trails in Finland that cues visitors to express gratitude outside with stone altars and small chapels dotted throughout.
“I think there are other countries that are far ahead of us on these topics, and it may be in part because their health care systems believe in prevention,” says Williams.
Blame it on our smartphones and increasingly tight schedules, but in the United States, we’re spending less time outside than ever before. Nature deficit disorder has become a legitimate diagnosis as the average American spends 93 percent of their lives indoors. According to one poll, 70 percent of moms in the United States remember playing outside every day as a child, but only 26 percent of them can say the same of their kids.
Williams attributes this sudden, dramatic decrease largely to our fixation on technology: “In our parents’ day, there really wasn’t that much to do indoors, so kids went outside. And now, our kids are kind of addicted. We can find endless entertainment inside the boxes of our homes. But the data is showing that time inside is not very good for our mental health or our physical health. I think people are starting to realize that people aren’t really happy or fulfilled when they’re inside all the time.” However, she sees glimmers of hope for a wilder future. “I’m really heartened to see that it is starting to take off in the United States. I think some of that has been led by the neuroscientists here who are interested in the ideas of creativity and productivity. Those are of course ideas that Americans can get behind.”
Such developments include the birth of outdoor preschools, the rise of park prescriptions in urban areas, and organizations like GirlTrek, CityKids, and NatureBridge that get desk-locked parents and tablet-obsessed kids outside more often.
“I do think we’re at a critical time in this research. If people really believe that exposure to nature is critical for being human, and not just a luxury commodity, then we need to fight for it. We need to advocate for it.”
How to make your time outside count.
If you, too, are looking to introduce more of Mama Earth’s medicine into your life, Williams’ advice is simple and straightforward: “Go outside, often, sometimes in wild places. Bring friends or not. Breathe.”
When we can engage all of our senses, it’s an amazing shortcut to feeling restored.
And living in a city doesn’t mean you can’t get outside in a restorative way. “I don’t think we have to think of nature as being Yosemite: something really grand and dramatic,” Williams cautions. “If we can appreciate that even small doses of nature can have a big effect on our mood for the day, we can start to really change the way we spend our time.”
Easy ways to get started include eating lunch outside, even in a downtown area that has some trees, and change the way you walk to work or school, choosing a street that has more greenery. When you are in these more natural environments, make an effort to be mindful. “Listen to bird songs, look at patterns in the leaves and trees, literally smell the flowers and the pine needles. When we can engage all of our senses, it’s an amazing shortcut to feeling restored.”
Next up in outdoor inspo: Check out this couple’s epic trip across all 59 U.S. national parks, and the science behind why getting out in the sun first thing in the morning is so restorative.

Study: Marijuana use as a cancer treatment is growing, with up to one quarter of patients using it, and more wanting to
We are sharing this post from naturalnews.com. Please feel free to read it on their site. None of the content from their article has been changed. We did however, replace the image used.
Study: Marijuana use as a cancer treatment is growing, with up to one quarter of patients using it, and more wanting to

Chilled Borscht with Dill Coconut Yogurt
(Natural News) Over half of all U.S. states have now passed legislation allowing for the medicinal use of marijuana. The New York Times recently reported that over 200 million Americans live in states where the medicinal use of marijuana is now legal. This has opened up many new areas of treatment, and patients suffering the debilitating side effects of conventional cancer treatments are making increasing use of marijuana to help them cope.
According to Science Daily, a study recently published in the American Cancer Society’s peer reviewed journal Cancer found that around one in four cancer patients surveyed had used marijuana in the preceding year to ease the symptoms of chemotherapy, including nausea, vomiting, fatigue, diarrhea and mouth sores.
The research team, led by Steven Pergam, M.D., MPH, of the Fred Hutchinson Cancer Research Center, surveyed 926 patients from the Seattle Cancer Center Alliance. The responses from patients were overwhelmingly positive towards marijuana: Three quarters showed keen interest in getting more information about how marijuana could help them, while two thirds admitted to using marijuana in the past – 24 percent within the last year, and 21 percent within the last four weeks.
The patients who had used marijuana had mostly done so for pain relief, to ease the physical symptoms of treatment, or to help them cope with the depression, stress and insomnia that often accompany a cancer diagnosis. (Related: Study proves medical marijuana can replace dangerous pharmaceuticals.)
Interestingly, most patients admitted that though they were keenly interested in obtaining more information about marijuana, they would not be likely to approach their healthcare providers to get it. (Related: Discover why so many people are now turning elsewhere for reliable healthcare information at Medicine.news.)
“Cancer patients desire but are not receiving information from their cancer doctors about marijuana use during their treatment, so many of them are seeking information from alternate non-scientific sources,” said Dr. Pergam. “We hope that this study helps to open up the door for more studies aimed at evaluating the risks and benefits of marijuana in this population. This is important, because if we do not educate our patients about marijuana, they will continue to get their information elsewhere.”
In other words, medical professionals are desperately scrambling to regain their patients’ trust in a world where accurate and reliable information is available at their fingertips.
What those doctors are not likely to tell their patients is that marijuana is not only a useful remedy for the side effects of toxic conventional cancer treatments; there are also many people who claim that marijuana has actually been a powerful weapon against the cancer itself.
Back in 2015, Natural News told the story of David Hibbitt, a British man whose doctors assured him his bowel cancer was terminal, and that he would be dead within 18 months. After trying the usual cancer treatments – chemotherapy, radiation and surgery – all of which failed, Hibbitt took control of his own treatment plan, and after doing loads of research online, decided to try cannabis oil. The high-potency cannabis oil, which only cost him $75 a month, has left him cancer free.
Then there’s the story of Lynn Cameron, a Scottish woman who was given just months to live after being diagnosed with an incurable brain tumor. She, too, tried conventional cancer treatments, but to no avail. It was only after Cameron eliminated all sugar and processed foods from her diet and started taking cannabis oil, that she started to improve. In spite of only being given 18 months to live by her oncologist, Cameron has now been in remission for over four years.
So, those patients using marijuana to cope with the side effects of their chemotherapy might find they get an entirely unexpected bonus: It might actually cure them!

How To Get Gorgeous Lustrous Hair Like The Stars
Quick Questions:
Is your hair:
Bouncy
Does it have body
Is it strong
Does it shine
Do you love it
Or is your hair:
Dry and frizzy
Limp and lifeless
Dull boring
Weak and brittle
Don’t worry if you are the latter and struggling to care for your hair. We’ve all been there.
We’re here to let you know how to get gorgeous, lustrous hair like the stars
Gorgeous hair is something we all want. It shows others that we take care of our appearance and have pride in the way we look.
Gorgeous hair is a sign that you are healthy, get the right nutrients and have a healthy, balanced life.
Who doesn’t want thick and shiny, beautiful hair? Stress, age and the procession of life can take their toll on our hair.
Use this DIY Serum Recipe to bring life back to your hair and become the envy of the office, the mall and everywhere you go.
Here is a short list of what you’ll need to find: (or just follow the links) (Ps: these are affiliate links)
2 ounce dark glass dropper bottle
Almost 2 ounces of Castor Oil
10 drops of Rosemary essential oil
5 drops of Lavender essential oil
5 drops of Ylang Ylang essential oil
Here is what you need to do:
Add a little less than 2 ounces of the castor oil to the bottle. Add all the essential oils. Seal and shake well. Add a couple of drops to your hair each morning or evening before bathing or taking a shower.
Massage the oils gently into your scalp and leave it on for about 30 minutes before washing your hair.
If you want to apply it before going to bed, you can do so, but i would recommend you wrap your head in a towel, or place a towel over your pillow to prevent all the oils transferring to your pillows. (I would actually avoid doing this, it will probably cause more hassles than not)
If you don’t like greasiness or the oily feeling on your head, you can alway swap out the castor oil with distilled water. In the distilled water, you will need to add 1 teaspoon of witch hazel.
Conclusion
Now you know how to get gorgeous lustrous hair like the stars.
Making your own products is so much better. You only use what comes from nature, you get to see what you’re putting in and experiencing the benefits of your own work.
Taking care of your hair this way has some amazing benefits. You will notice a shine and body return to your hair in a number of weeks.
Caution: Always Test For Allergic Reactions
If you know you are allergic to any of these essential oils, then this recipe is not for you. Please don’t use it. Use common sense.
How To Test For Allergic Reactions:
Always test any new remedy you make on a small patch of sensitive skin, before applying en masse. Dip your finger in the mix, and rub it on your wrist. Wait for about 15 to 30 minutes, if nothing happens, then go ahead and use as normal.
If there is any itching, burning or swelling, wash it off in cold water, discard the mix immediately and do not apply to your scalp.

7 Of The Best Reasons to Naturally Cure Anxiety……..
We guys don’t normally brag about or disorders, but we do show off our biceps and compare our physique to our buddies, share tips on performance and hide the things we do, to bulk up quickly.
The one thing that does spring to mind when we exercise, is that we feel better afterwards. The reason for this, is that endorphins are released during intense workouts. Endorphins are a feel good chemical produced in the brain, which can help cure anxiety naturally.
Anyone can workout or at least get some form of exercise. The are many, many good reasons to get some exercise. Here are the 7 we can come up with, which offer the most benefits for young, and old:
1 . Manage a Healthy Body Weight
Exercise is a great way to burn up excess energy that you have consumed in the form of food. The food you eat is what fuels your body. The more high calorie foods you eat, the more you need to exercise.
Some people think that you need a gym membership to exercise, not true. Take the stairs, take a walk, cycle, run, jog, stand instead of sit. Do anything to get moving. You will feel better for it, and shed some weight in the process.
2. Prevent Common Health Problems and Diseases
Do you come from a family of disease ridden members? Are you concerned that you will probably be the same? Stop worrying, you’re not doing yourself any favours. Get moving!!
When you exercise, you get the blood pumping through your veins. You give your heart a workout and you help your body push along, or flush any of the bad cholesterol (HDL) in your system. Keeping the increased blood-flow going, reduces your risk of cardiovascular diseases, heart disease and high blood pressure.
Regularly exercising helps prevent a wide range of health problems and concerns, including stroke, metabolic syndrome, type 2 diabetes, depression, different types of cancer, arthritis etc.
3. Be Happier
When you get physical, push your body a little and do so in short bursts. You actually strengthen your body better than you would doing the same workout for extended periods.
Shorter, more intense bursts of exercise have been proven to have more of an impact on your overall health. Push yourself, set yourself fitness goals and work towards increasing your overall health, little by little.
Bursts of intense exercise allow you to quickly boost the production of endorphins in the brain. Why do a marathon to get the same results? Endorphins improve your mood, boost your immunity and help you feel great.
As the title of the article stated, anxiety can be overcome through exercise. So, stop procrastinating. Start an exercise regimen and stick to it. You will be better off for it.
4. Boost Your Stamina
When you regularly exercise, you tone the cardiovascular muscles. Everything starts working better, including blood-flow, your breathing, your major muscles and your digestion.
When all of these are improved through exercise, you do your body a huge favor. It then has the capacity to increase nutrient absorption into the tissues, this results in:
Better bone density
Faster muscle growth
Better looking skin
Healthier looking hair
Better muscle tone
The higher levels of oxygen and nutrients delivered where they matter, help boost your energy and endurance. You will not only feel better, but you will look great and think clearer.
5. Get a Better Night’s Sleep
We’ve already covered the release of endorphins into the brain when you exercise. When these endorphins wear off, you will feel more relaxed and able to get a good night’s sleep.
Quick tip: Do your exrcise in the morning, or at least 5 – 6 hours before hitting the sack. Any form of physical activity is likely to get you energized for a few hours, so avoid the afternoon gym sessions or runs.
6. Get it Up
Increased blood-flow, well, what more do I need to say…….? Exercise helps get blood flowing to the genitals. Exercise has helped women with intimacy problems resolve it.
When you’re feeling better about yourself and are in a better mood, then things normally work better in bed too. Go ahead, get a workout, grab a shower, then break out the wine, body chocolate and cream. (Wink, Wink)
7. Become a Social Butterfly
Exercise can sometimes be done on your own. That would be boring though! It’s a time to get out, meet like minded people and have some light hearted fun. Do what makes you happy.
Life is about connections, so become more sociable and get out there. Make new friends and have fun doing what you enjoy.
Summing up Exercise
Exercise is a great way to get outdoors. You get some much needed fresh air, you get to move those bones and feel great for it.
You also get to meet like minded people and possibly make a few new friends.
It’s all about having fun.
Serotonin and endorphins are released in the brain when you exercise. They improve your mood and help you feel great. They are both a sure fire way to combat anxiety of any kind.
Try to do at least 30 minutes of physical activity per day. Of that 30 minutes, make 10 minutes a rapid workout.
It can be hard to make time, that’s why I say 30 minutes. Block out this time, this is “YOUR TIME”. Don’t give up your time for anything, after all, how are you supposed to function properly if you not feeling great?
Try doing different activities, and do a few that you enjoy.
In closing, check with your doctor or family physician before embarking on any physical activity. (personally, I wouldn’t bother, but, that’s just my opinion)
Hope you enjoyed the 7 Of The Best Reasons to Naturally Cure Anxiety…….. If you have anything to share, please leave a comment, or reach out to us on Social Media.

Origami, the delicate, Japanese art of paper folding is a wonder to behold. Creased paper reveals a plentiful array of possibility: animals, people, flowers. And now, a Japanese cook and Twitter user @key_daisuki has found a way to render the art form edible.
Behold, edible origami.
僕は料理が趣味なのですが
家に帰ったら父親が、シュウマイの皮が余ったからと鶴を折ってました。
完全敗北 http://pic.twitter.com/dru2f51Kud
— きーくん(21) (@key_daisuki) September 2, 2017
It all began when the young cook and his father found themselves with leftover wonton skins after preparing a batch of dumplings. Spurred by the spirit of creativity and experimentation, the duo began to test the limits of their culinary prowess, folding and bending the pliable wonton skin into origami-inspired shapes. They started with cranes and expanded into more complex shapes like boxes and samurai helmets.
すぐ調子に乗って自分も作って見ましたが父親の方がうまかったです…
手裏剣は崩壊しました http://pic.twitter.com/jzXdXsbtnQ
— きーくん(21) (@key_daisuki) September 3, 2017
The shapes crisp up nicely when fried and some even have the ability to be stuffed. Another Twitter user, @grandmariu, snagged the idea and made it his own. He filled his edible origami with edamame soy beans, ham, cheese, imitation crab, onion, white sauce, and other vegetables for a snack that’s as tasty as it is tasteful.
巻き込んでたから上げ直し お父さん すごい!! 私も 便乗… http://pic.twitter.com/hGOVCspmei
— みゆちょ (@grandmariu) September 3, 2017
And judging by the looks of them, they don’t seem too difficult to replicate at home as long as you know an origami trick or two.
Would you test your hand at edible origami? Let us know your favorite folds in the comments below.

You’ve heard it before: never eat straight out of the bag. So whether you’re noshing on cookies or tortilla chips, you try to be good and grab a healthy portion size, put it in a bowl, and enjoy your snack. But the bag of chips calls to you! The open package is just too tempting! So you go back to the kitchen to refill your bowl, and then, oops – you end up inhaling half the bag. Sound familiar? Don’t worry, it happens to the best of us.
Related These Healthy Snacks Fit Right Into Your Bag, So You Can Take Them Everywhere
If you need some help with practicing self-control, here’s a little snack hack to help you stick to those portion sizes. When you’re opening a new bag or box, whether it’s pretzels, popcorn, or crackers, divide the entire package into all the portions right then and there using little baggies. Your serving sizes will be more accurate when you divide them all at once, and they’ll stay fresher, too. Put your preportioned servings into the cupboard or pantry. When you’re ready for a snack, whether it’s to nibble on while watching TV or to throw in your gym bag for later, just grab one and be done!

With Labor Day firmly behind us, the siren calls of early fall become all too apparent: sweet first day of school moments peppering your social feeds; the much-heralded pumpkin spice latte becoming available once again; and of course, farmers markets marching out the ultimate signs of autumn in the form of crisp apples and lovable gourds.

Hurricane Irma headed for “catastrophic” impact… fuel shortages strand Floridians… no escape for many
Hurricane Irma headed for “catastrophic” impact… fuel shortages strand Floridians… no escape for many
http://ift.tt/2eSn7hu
(Natural News) There’s something to be said about getting out of the way when bad things are headed in your direction. In the same way that you should never stand on the railroad tracks and play chicken with an approaching train, you probably shouldn’t challenge a category-5 hurricane to a game of “who’s the bigger badass.”
Truth be told, Irma is the bigger badass.
Updated storm tracks from the NOAA predict the storm savaging Miami, then barreling its way through Georgia and even Tennessee. Along the way, it’s going to unload outrageous winds on Orlando, Gainesville and possibly even Macon, Georgia. Mass evacuations have been announced and over 650,000 Floridians are currently attempting to flee the state.
Fuel shortages are being reported across Florida, causing some residents to be unable to flee. Via Phys.org:
The only way to drive out of the Florida peninsula is northward, and motorists leaving Miami have found many gas stations cordoned off with yellow tape, signaling they were closed due to lack of fuel.
The State of Florida has even released this color-coded panic chart. If you’re in the purple or red zones, you should probably leave.
People are beginning to panic
One of the irrefutable truths about preparedness is that the greatest threat comes from the masses of unprepared people who panic. While Hurricane Irma obviously poses a tremendous threat in terms of winds, rain and flooding, it’s panicking people who shoot each other, rob each other, steal your gasoline and loot your home. And it’s lack of preparedness that tends to lead people into panic mode in the first place.
Now we’re learning that the power in parts of Florida could be out for days or weeks. This will only lead to more looting and desperation. According to CNBC:
With Irma set to hit Florida as early as Saturday night, parts of Florida was expected to lose electricity for days, if not longer, and more than 100,000 people may need shelter…
Yet how many people were wise enough to prepare for such a scenario, even with over a week of forewarning? The answer, sadly, is “not many.” Most people just don’t plan ahead. Most people get stuck in the day-to-day “normalcy bias” of thinking that nothing catastrophic could ever happen to them, so they don’t invest in backup generators, emergency water filters, stored fuel supplies, emergency food and other supplies. Most don’t have a bugout plan, a bugout vehicle or even a paper map. So they freak out and add to the burden of problems that impact everyone else. Truly stated, lack of preparedness is the greatest threat in almost any disaster.
The mainstream media only adds to this by routinely mocking preppers and survivalists, as I explain in my podcast:
Direct hit on Miami?
According to official weather sources, the hurricane track will send it directly into Miami:
If the eye of the hurricane rips into Miami, it will of course cause tremendous damage and flatten many buildings. The economic damage will be immense, but there shouldn’t be any loss of life unless people fail to heed the warnings and evacuate the area.
Sadly, there will almost certainly be some casualties from the storm as buildings collapse onto citizens. If they had evacuated, of course, they wouldn’t be there when the roof caves in on them. And that’s the lesson in all this: When s##t hits the fan, try not to be standing in front of the fan.
If you’re not into preparedness, you’ll soon be in trouble
This is true across all sectors of preparedness, by the way. It’s the same advice on everything: When the stock market crashes, try not to be holding your retirement investments in stocks. When Bitcoin craters, try not to be holding your speculative investments in Bitcoin. When a civil war breaks out on the streets of California, try not to be in the path of destruction of the left-wing lynch mobs.
You get the idea. Be nimble. Avoid and evade disasters. Have a bugout plan and some portable wealth (i.e. gold coins, etc.). Don’t get seduced by the normalcy of everyday life. Understand that you are living in crazy times and that crazy things are going to happen with increasing frequency. Be prepared for anything to happen, and expect a lot of crazy things to happen without warning.
At least with Hurricane Irma, we’ve all had several days of warning. When the next stock market crash unfolds, there will be no warning. If North Korea detonates an EMP weapon over America, there will be no warning. If the Yellowstone supervolcano goes off, there will be no warning. Most events don’t give you any warning time at all, which means you need to be prepared at all times for almost anything to happen.

Pfizer Did Not Investigate EpiPen Problems: FDA
Pfizer Did Not Investigate EpiPen Problems: FDA
http://ift.tt/2eSrkli
Pfizer failed to properly investigate reports of malfunctioning EpiPens, including cases that resulted in severe illness or death, the U.S. Food and Drug Administration said in a warning letter issued earlier this week.
EpiPens are devices that deliver lifesaving epinephrine to people suffering a severe allergic reaction. Pfizer manufactures EpiPens for drugmaker Mylan.
In the warning letter, the FDA said that despite receiving numerous complaints, Meridian Medical Technologies — a unit of Pfizer — did not adequately investigate problems with a critical part of the EpiPen, the mechanism that makes it fire and deliver the correct dose of epinephrine, The New York Times reported.
“Our own data show that you received hundreds of complaints that your EpiPen products failed to operate during life-threatening emergencies, including some situations in which patients subsequently died,” the FDA said in the letter.
The agency did not provide the number of patient deaths reported.
In a statetment, Pfizer spokeswoman Kim Bencker said the company was “very confident in the safety and efficacy of EpiPen products being produced at the site” and noted that it has distributed more than 30 million EpiPens since 2015, The Times reported.
“It’s not unusual to receive product complaints, especially when the product is frequently administered by non-medically trained individuals,” according to Bencker.
“We currently have no information to indicate that there was any causal connection between these product complaints and any patient deaths,” she added.

Opioid drug manufacturer found to have repeatedly bribed doctors with lucrative kickbacks
Opioid drug manufacturer found to have repeatedly bribed doctors with lucrative kickbacks
http://ift.tt/2ja1ydF
(Natural News) If there was any lingering doubt in your mind that the major pharmaceutical manufacturers in the United States are truly evil, this story should kill it once and for all. The Daily Mail recently reported that the state of Arizona is suing pharma giant Insys – manufacturer of the fentanyl-based drug Subsys – for giving doctors hundreds of thousands of dollars in kickbacks to write illegal prescriptions for the highly addictive drug, netting themselves a cool $33 million in the last five years in the process.
“We need to put a stop to the unethical and greedy behavior in the pharmaceutical industry that is fueling the opioid crisis in our state,” said Attorney General Mark Brnovich, who believes that this fraud has had a direct impact on the state’s out-of-control addiction problem. (Related: Opioid epidemic reaches whole new crisis level as Big Pharma drugs out America for profit.)
Subsys is so addictive that it is a drug of last resort, and can only legally be prescribed for cancer patients who are in excruciating pain, and for whom no better pain relief exists. As noted in an earlier Natural News article, fentanyl is 50 times stronger than pure heroin, and is 100 times more potent than morphine:
Fentanyl, a powerful prescription pain medication, is an entirely synthetic opioid initially meant to ease cancer patients to death. Even with its intended purpose, health regulation groups repeatedly warn of the drug’s deadly side effects and caution doctors to only prescribe it as a last resort. That being said, recent data reveals that more doctors are prescribing fentanyl to their patients, even for cases such as tonsillitis.
In fact, Insys went so far as to pay doctors “speaking fees” to write scripts for addicts who did not have cancer and were not eligible for the medication. (Related: Get up-to-date information about the country’s opioid crisis at Addiction.news)
The state of Arizona is pursuing legal action against at least three such doctors: Steve Fanto, Nikesh Seth and Sheldon Gingerich, none of whom responded to the Mail’s requests for comment.
The pharma company’s fraudulent activities were not confined to Arizona, either; they are facing numerous lawsuits on a state and federal level for similar activities across the country.
Six former Insys executives and managers, including former Chief Executive Michael Babich, have been implicated in the fraud and are facing criminal charges. Several other staff members, across multiple states, have also been charged with similar crimes.
The Mail explains how America’s opioid addiction rapidly spiraled out of control:
In the early 2000s, the FDA and CDC started to notice a steady increase in cases of opioid addiction and overdose. In 2013, they issued guidelines to curb addiction. However, that same year – now regarded as the year the epidemic took hold – a CDC report revealed an unprecedented surge in rates of opioid addiction. Overdose deaths are now the leading cause of death among young Americans – killing more in a year than were ever killed annually by HIV, gun violence or car crashes.
The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) notes that between 2000 and 2015, over half a million people died from drug overdoses – most of which involved opioids. As many as 91 Americans die each day from an opioid overdose.
Apparently, Big Pharma couldn’t care less about that. As long as they can find a way to make money they will pursue it – irrespective of who they harm in the process.
