I apologize for abandoning this place yet again, and so soon after a starter call too. To be perfectly frank and honest with you all, I've been dealing with a lot of negative thoughts and self talk for the past month or so. There was a death in the family a month ago, and I've also been struggling with finding a job post-college. My brain hasn't been taking any of that well. It's literally felt like Anxiety from Inside Out 2 has been at the wheel the past month "lol"

It all led up to a crashout IRL yesterday where I just kinda vented and had a good cry about all of my feelings, and though the grief from the loss and the frustration about the job is still there it feels infinitely more manageable. Anxiety's still there, she's just got her massage chair and tea now.

I've tried to be here through it all, as this place brings me comfort, but it's been hard to write even for myself. We'll see if I get my mojo back now that I'm feeling better. Expect my full, proper, actual return by the end of the month. I promise!

I really wish my two multimuse blogs got more attention 😮‍💨 I know this sounds like complaining (and probably is lol) but it's true. I have some neat muses that I wish I could write more but whenever I post memes or starter calls there people seem to ignore them. Whether it's due to them being a side blog or people not being interested, I have no idea, but I genuinely wish people wrote there more with me, or at the very least communicated their (dis)interest. As much as I love Garnet, all of my muses on those blogs deserve some love too.

Starter calls will come tomorrow; the heat's been wearing me out a little mentally. Talk to you guys then!

Deltarune Chapters 3 and 4 are out and in the interest of giving people who are writing the new characters the opportunity to write with a Spamton most activity will be focused on @thebigshotman for the next month or so. That’s assuming I get traffic at all lol. If I don’t, I’ll come back to here and my other blogs as well.

Things have finally started settling IRL somewhat, and I’m happy to be back! But for now, between the new release and my own hyperfixation, I’ll be over there for the time being. Don’t worry, I won’t be disappearing for a year and a half again 😅

...Hi everyone 👋 It's been quite some time, hasn't it? Almost five months, I'm pretty sure. With things finally in a somewhat stable place, I can finally resurface here for a brief moment to let you all know what's been going on and where I've been.

Firstly and most importantly, no one has died, and nothing has happened to me. I'm alright physically and mentally! My absence has nothing to do with tragedy and everything to do with-you guessed it-college. This current semester is my last, and with that comes my senior project ("project" because I'm majoring in communications). I've chosen to do a three episode podcast, and ever since the start of the year my life has been a whirlwind of scheduling interviews, conducting interviews, editing interviews, and somehow trying to do assignments for my other classes on top of all of that. Oh, and working at a movie theater, too.

Needless to say, my schedule has been jammed in a way it hasn't been since before the pandemic. But that doesn't mean I should've gone completely radio silent with you all, and for that, I sincerely apologize. Even though I'm sure you've come to expect my sporadic activity, this still feels like a personal new low for me. If people have moved on or no longer wish to write with me, I completely understand, even though I selfishly wish we can still be friends somehow.

This actually leads me into my next topic: Where I go from here. In about a month I will be a graduated student with a goddamn Bachelor's degree, and no I have still not processed that lol-but the fact of the matter is, I will be a proper, mature adult. I have to begin my job search and start figuring out my priorities, and what hobbies I want to keep and which ones I will have to unfortunately shelve. And I will admit, a month ago in a haze of burnout and general chaos I genuinely considered giving up RPing.

But when the smoke cleared, I realized how much I would miss all of the friends I've made here. I'd miss writing my favorite characters too, sure, but mainly you all. I couldn't and would never just up and leave without a proper goodbye. There's still millions of places for our muses to go together, tons and tons of ideas to explore. This isn't a community I can just forget about. I'd never forgive myself.

It may not be until late May, but I will return, I promise. Consider everything and anything dropped, but when I come back we will start anew with new threads and memes! This isn't the end of me, not by a long shot!

Whether my activity ends up winding down in a year or several years, even I don't know. After college, anything could happen. But I do know this: Some of my best online memories have been here, writing with you all. I've been here for five years and I don't intend on going anywhere. Not just yet, anyway.

So TLDR: College has been kicking my ass but once I've graduated I'm going to make an effort to be back! All threads and asks have been dropped and deleted. I'm going to come back with an eager, fresh mind, and things are going to be fun again!

I hope you'll all join me as I venture off into the great unknown after college.

Garnet was already in the middle of reading for possible futures once she sent the device away, but before she could start figuring out the probability of any of them, the false, evil Rick had already cornered her and started spitting out threats.

Despite the fact that her body was made of light, that light was still solid. She still felt it as he gripped her throat, even though she didn’t have to breathe, and being shoved still jarred her. The bomb less so. He couldn’t possibly know that her real “body” was her gems, right?

Besides, his knee jerk reaction indicated, pretty solidly, that he had a bone to pick with her Rick. Even if she knew where he actually was, there was no way she was helping him.

“…Do it. Be impulsive and ‘blow me up’ for knowing a Rick who’s twice the one you are. But know this-” And here she, too, smirked-all part of her bluffing-“-I’ll be back, and when I am…I won’t be showing you any mercy.”

After all of that, she clammed up. Not even thinking about a possibility in which she ratted him out.

That statement gave her pause for a moment, lowering her finger as she kept the bubble close. Did the Gems come to Earth in every universe? Was her Rick the so-called “smartest man in the universe” as well? There were too many probabilities and not enough time to think about them all, especially now that this Rick was tossing something complex-looking up and down like it was a simple ball, or rock. Her eyes narrowed.

“…You’re not reasonable. If you were, you would’ve given me a chance to explain why this thing is so dangerous before attacking me like that! I can’t let you have this. I…”

She knew she shouldn’t be letting her guard down, not even slightly, and yet here she was. “I know another ‘you’, and…he’s not very stable, either. I’ll admit it. But I would rather trust him with this than you!”

And, almost as if to punctuate that sentence, that was the moment she decided to finally send the device to the temple. The bubble whooshing away as she did so.

She sounded like she was choking on the water…perhaps the human was in a worse condition than she had originally assumed. She wasted no time in handing over the towel, looking her over to see if there were any injuries besides her winded breath and speech. No matter if there were any or not, she definitely needed to sit down more properly…and laying down on sand dunes was absolutely not the best way to do that.

“Sitting down on a chair will probably help you, too,” she informed gently. “Will you be alright with me helping you to one so you can collect yourself?”

They could worry about any valuables later…Garnet might be able to dive and recollect some of them.

She pleads , hoarsely . Perhaps the flag colors meant something after all , but alas one often finds out the hard way . Sure plenty of folks are laughing about her attempt to paddle back , throwing herself on the sand . Who knows what happened to the other supplies she brought , at this point there's no telling where they ended up .

One thing's for sure she's grateful someone checked to make sure she was still breathing , arm outstretched to grip the towel before attempting to roll over and cover herself with it .

Garnet had insisted she and a few other Gems be the first customers at this so-called “Omega Mart” when it seemingly appeared one afternoon, not wanting to put humans at risk to whatever was inside. Judging by the headless humanoid that appeared before her when she stepped inside, her intuition seemed right so far.

“…Hello,” she says simply, never one for many words when she’s on guard. Brain smile? Incentive salience?? Those garbage phrases just put her on edge all the more. That being said, however, maybe the mascot’s demeanor was the only odd thing…perhaps the actual inventory of the store was safe. Only one way to find out, unfortunately.

“…Glad to hear. I’m, uh…” Out of her mouth came a request for a food she always associated with Steven. “Looking for ‘Chaps’. They’re a brand of what you call a ‘potato chip’, I believe?”

🔹⭕🔷🟨 " Welcome to the NEW Omega Mart branch here at Beach City! I'm Mr. Omega! " As seen on TV! Though, maybe no one's even seen the commercials yet. This massive store seemed to just manifest from thin air in any lot big enough to contain it. But arguably, that is just how these chain stores work, right? But this, this mascot talking to her now, blurs the line of what a good illusion can costume.

" We recognize the unique diversity of customers at this location, and would like to say Omega Mart welcomes any and all so long as they can enjoy brain smiles and incentive salience. " He says his odd words with a thumbs up.

Yet more things that Desmond had done when he was younger that reminded her of Steven…she had lost count of the many times he had jumped between the Gems and danger, usually saving or helping them in the process. She had a feeling the two of them would get along great if they ever met.

She sat down while he talked about Lady Liberty, folding one leg on top of the other and smiling softly as he rambled on. Despite her relaxed appearance, she was listening to every word. Again she was reminded of Steven, this time with how he would gush about her and the other Gems. When he paused to apologize, she spoke up for the first time in a while.

“No need to apologize. If anything, I’m fascinated. You really are a lot like him…not to mention, this will help me blend in for now.” She smiled a bit more broadly now. “I’d love to meet her while I’m here, assuming she’s still in the area. Maybe she’d be able to give me assistance getting home.”

She actually giggled a little at his comment about her being a sword. “Of course I’m not a sword. I’d be sharp and pointy if I was, wouldn’t I be? I suppose I should tell you more about Gems and my unique situation being one…that way, you won’t be taken off guard if my form poofs away in the middle of battle.”

She patted the bed next to herself, gesturing for him to sit down.

“Goo…bers?” she pronounced slowly, clearly having never heard that word before. “W-Well, no more threats from outer space, at least. On Earth, there’s obviously much more to be done.”

Garnet had never really had the time to think about the geography of places outside of Beach City before—so the idea of being surrounded by an ocean instead of just on one side fascinated her. Nevermind the fact that she had probably been to places like that several times throughout her battles.

“Is Lady Liberty one of your family members? And are all of your family members heroes?” This place was alright quite huge; at least enough for both Desmond, his computer, and his dogs. “If this place isn’t the biggest place she lives in, I’m almost curious to see her other house.”

Following his comment about fitness, she’d smirk at him. “Maybe we could swim together, then. Do a few laps, see who’s faster. And I won’t need either of those things, but I appreciate it nonetheless.”

She adjusted her glasses, and they sparkled. “Heat has no effect on me. Both of my halves were forged in fire—literally.”
