Just a reminder that we don’t know all the good things Katniss does/did for her community, because Katniss wouldn’t tell us unless it was relevant to what was going on.

In Catching fire, she doesn’t tell us that she’s being going around and bringing food to poor children in the seam until she needs to explain why she had a bag of food and why her mother wouldn’t find that odd.

In the first book, when she’s telling Peeta about the story of how she got Prims goat, she refuses to admit that this wasn’t a selfish move so she could get money out of that goat. (You could also argue that this is her refusing to be vulnerable in front of Peeta and all of Pamen though. I think it’s both, because she doesn’t even admit that she did this purely for her sister in her internal dialogue.)

And in Mockingjay, she never tells us that she’s the one that got Haymitch the goose eggs to help him heal after the games. All she says in the epilogue is that Haymitch raises geese when the liquor runs out. And we would never know otherwise if Haymitch didn’t mention that SHE was the one who got him the geese in sotr.

I really adore the moment in Catching Fire where Katniss and Finnick prank Peeta while he's sleeping. Not only because it's a moment of Katniss being goofy and pranking her crush like the kid she forgets she is but because Finnick is twenty four and acting like the kid he never got to be.

I hate how even people who like the Star Wars prequels feel the need to go "I know they're flawed, but..." when talking about their prequel love. Screw that. The prequels are wonderful. They're fun and engaging and they fit in well with the original trilogy.

And compared to the terrible fanfiction Disney Star Wars has been putting out for the last 9 years, even the worst prequel is Citizen Kane and The Godfather all rolled into one.

There’s a lot to be said about Anakin’s “rizz” and I mean, sure, he may not have come off as smooth to us (not me personally, because I’m viewing the story within the narrative that’s presented.) but in universe, his poetic styled dialogues, his passion, sincerity, and honesty are all apart of what makes him charming, topped with the fact that he’s this cool and smooth Jedi that keeps a firm grip on his exterior and most definitely doesn’t lack confidence in his talent. It’s all meant to be taken as him being the “alluring ladies man” variant to the people in universe and to those watching from outside it are expected to at least understand that if not agree with it. The execution may not have been good enough for some people (again not me personally.) but it is what it is at the end of the day.

Re reading the original hunger games is so funny bcus katniss can literally read haymitch's mind like what. I'm dying of thirst but haymitch hasn't sent me water, that must mean that there's some nearby!! And one kiss is one pot of broth!! Like she even acknowledges that it's strange when she's like oh to peeta this would just be a pot of broth. Haymitch will give her one look and katniss knows immediately what he means and she's right every time

Meanwhile peeta is like your dress really suits you and you look nice :) and katniss is like he's trying to kill me

Katniss is a singer and Peeta is a painter. They’re artists, born into a world that robbed them the joy and freedom of making art. I hope they found that joy after the war and their home was full of music and art. I hope their children never know a world without it.

In Catching Fire Katniss mentions that Victors are meant to have a “special talent” and that hers was fashion design.

She says she refuses to sing for the Capitol, implying it is her choice.

Which just seems improbable to me, the Capitol is not above forcing Victors to perform.

In reality Snow was probably the one to refuse to let her sing. He was not going to let a Covey girl from District 12 sing in the Capitol ever again.

Something about the fact that after the Pevensie’s are pulled out of Narnia three of them don’t live long enough to reach those ages again. That Peter is supposed to be around twenty eight by the end of their reign and after returning to England he only lives until he is twenty two. That despite living multiple lives he never makes it to thirty. That Edmund dies at nineteen and Lucy at seventeen.

That Susan is left behind knowing what her siblings would have looked like for several years after their deaths and then not knowing any longer. That she grows up and has to face life without the people she always expected to be by her side. That even in Aslan’s kingdom the Pevensie’s cannot find true peace because someone is always missing.

That Peter never has the chance to graduate university or become a doctor, that Lucy doesn’t even live to adulthood, that Edmund never gets old enough for people to take him seriously. That Susan lives to be older than Peter ever got to be and then older than all her siblings put together before sixty.

That she has to grow up for all of them and they never get to.
