“Oh! Yes, I can definitely help with that,” Lena said cheerfully. A brief glance around the music room didn’t suddenly reveal the glasses. “This may be a bit of a silly question, but how much can you see without them?” Part of her wanted to hold up her hand and ask him how many fingers she was holding up, but that would be even sillier than the question.
She walked in a slow circle around the music room, looking under the piano and piano bench, just in case, but the careful search didn’t turn up anything. “I don’t see them here,” she said apologetically. “Where else have you been today?”
“How much can I see?” Tobias repeated thoughtfully. It was always a little difficult to explain accurately. Those who didn’t need glasses usually assumed he was blind, which wasn’t exactly true but it sure felt like it sometimes. “If you ever have the chance to look through frosted glass, that should give you a very good idea,” he chuckled.
Tobias’ heart sunk when she broke the news to him that his glasses weren’t in the room. Where hadn’t he been that day? He was constantly moving around, always doing one thing or another as if he was worried he’d wither away if he wasn’t busy. With an apologetic smile, he turned to look at Lena, “I won’t lie to you, I’ve been almost everywhere.” There was one place however where he’d stopped to clean his glasses, and that was the library. “I won’t keep you too long but if you could make sure I get to the library without falling down stairs or making any social faux pas, I’d be eternally grateful.”

Rebekah’s head tilted to the side in thought. “If it helps, I don’t where glasses but I still tend to be a danger to myself and others if I have a game in my hand.” more often than not the Swede could be found sitting on the stairs or walking in the halls without watching where she was going. “I’ve been told off for sitting on the stairs more than once.” she explained as she noticed that he didn’t have his glassed on. Right, that’s why he walked into her and had been cursing the heavens in various languages. “I haven’t, but I could help you look around the room if you’re like? Well glasses do kinda have two legs I guess…” she teased.
“That would be really helpful, actually, as long as you have nothing else to do of course. I wouldn’t want to waste your time, but just know I may fall down the stairs without my glasses,” he smiled, clearly joking. Although it had happened once or twice, Tobias swore the stairs in this castle were all slightly off by a few millimetres, but really he was just clumsier than he was willing to admit. “I am almost a hundred percent certain they’re in the music room but at this point I’m starting to doubt my own memory so if we don’t find them in here....well, I’ll probably cry.”

“With a face like that, I can only assume you are right. The jealousy must pain the castle to its core. Honestly, how dare you be so handsome?“ she spoke softly while looking all about the area she took careful steps in. She didn’t want to hear the crunch of glass under her feet. The guilt of breaking his glasses would most certainly make her cry. “I am sure it suits you just fine, even if you look like Bert,“ she said while keeping a smile on her face. She crouched down to look under a table reaching out and picking up the glasses he sought. “Found them,“ she said as she placed them on his face carefully. A smile of pride on her as she nodded. “There. Now you can see.“
Tobias shook his head, thoroughly amused by her compliment, “now by that I’m going to assume you’ve lost your glasses too and this rescue mission is the blind leading the blind.” Not that he was complaining, he was only human after all. Compliments could warm anyone’s heart. A heaviness lifted from his shoulders when she announced the glasses had been found, effectively saving him the trouble of crawling around on his hands and knees for the rest of the day. Once they were back on his face and he could see clearly again, Tobias offered his hero a smile. “A lovely sight to be met with, too. Thank you,” he bowed his head politely. “You know, it’s times like these which make me realise I wouldn’t last a minute in an apocalypse, all I’d have to do is put my glasses down and that’d be it.”

“Don’t give it ideas, it might just try swallowing you up one day if you go on like this.” He shook his head with a small chuckle; not that he’d expect the castle to be haunted or attempt to eat any of its’ inhabitants, but he saw enough haunted house movies to give this idea a spare thought. That would maybe add a bit of excitement to the otherwise dull days in here…
“Don’t worry, happens to the best of us… And for that matter, I’m sure you’re not the only one without a right side to their bed here.” Well, at least Raphael had some issues with finding his, but that wasn’t something he’d admit to anytime soon. “As for your glasses, haven’t seen them on the way here, but I can definitely help look for them, if you’d like to? Rachmaninoff here sure won’t mind the wait.” He showed the sheets up before putting them away to the side and looking around, gaze searching for said glasses. It’s not like they disappeared into nothingness, right?
The corners of Tobias’ lips twitched, “mm, I’ve noticed that.” There were certain people in the castle he certainly wouldn’t want to cross paths with on a bad day, for both their sakes. His shoulders relaxed slightly at the offer of help, it’d be much easer to find his glasses if someone else could act as his eyes.
His attention was drawn to the sheet music, though he couldn’t really make out what was on them. Things were blurry at best, unrecognizable at worst. “Rachmaninoff,” he smiled, “perhaps the castle will take a liking to your music taste and have mercy. It might cough up my glasses.” Or maybe that was wishful thinking.
Tobias turned around, hands resting on his hips as he sighed, yet again. One day he’d completely run out of air but until that happened he was content making his annoyance known to the world. “I should have invested in neon frames, at least they wouldn’t blend in with everything. Of course I’d look like an idiot in them but that’s a necessary sacrifice.”

The unfortunate thing about Lena’s choice of instrument is that there was only one piano in the entire castle- had she picked up a guitar when she was a child, she could’ve practiced in the comfort of her room, but as it was, she needed to go to the music room. She usually tried to time it so that she wouldn’t be interrupting anyone else, or likely to be interrupted. But today, she opened the door, and stopped short when she noticed the other figure in the room.
“I can come back later,” she said hesitantly. The man looked upset, and she didn’t want to make it worse. “Or… is there something I can help you with?”
Tobias shook his head. Just because he was having a crisis didn’t mean he had the right to commandeer the music room, as much as he would have liked to. “No, no. It’s fine,” he assured her, though quickly doubled back and changed his mind. “Actually yes, if you having nothing more pressing to do, I could use a hand...or....eye, I suppose.”
He vaguely gestured around the room, “I can’t seem to find my glasses. I’ve looked everywhere, at least I thought I had, although if that were really true I would’ve found them by now.” That, along with ‘it’s always in the last place you look’ were two expressions that made Tobias irrationally angry. Of course things were always in the last place you looked, people didn’t generally continue looking for something once they’d found it. Pushing that thought aside he reached to pinch the bridge of his nose and sigh, “you’d be saving me an either bigger headache if you could help me out.”

widcwed-rasa·:
Although Rasa had arrived at the palace many months ago, she hadn’t done too much exploring. Sometimes she was guilty of visiting the same places over and over again. She liked books, so she immediately took a liking to the library. She loved flowers and nature, which meant the gardens were also among her favorite places— and it was beautiful when it was in bloom, though now there was a possibility that doing so would freeze the princess into an icicle, and she wished to avoid that. The proximity to winter seemed to encourage her wandering about the castle halls, and it was when the Lithuanian found out about the music room. It instantly made her wonder what the place could be about, and she set in that direction.
Rasa stared down at the screen of her phone where someone had uploaded a map, but with the palace’s connectivity, it was lagging, showing she hadn’t moved in at least twenty steps. As the princess squinted and tried to get her bearings, she felt the whoosh of a person going by. It felt close enough to move a few strands of her hair, and Rasa looked up from the phone. “Woah there. Be careful,” the statement served both to her and the one who had just gone by her.
Tobias could feel the familiar sensation of irritation rising inside him. He’d never been any good at keeping that particular emotion hidden, it was usually clear on his face for the whole world to see. Since moving to the castle, however, he’d been trying his utmost best not to scowl at everyone he interacted with. His expression softened as he turned to look at Rasa, furrowed brow becoming not quite so, “sorry, I didn’t see you.” The world was nothing more than an abstract painting to him currently, castle inhabitants included.
“This may be a long shot of a question but you didn’t happen to see a pair of glasses lying around on your way here, did you?” Asking for help for such a simple thing pained the stubborn man greatly, but considering he needed glasses in order to search for his glasses, he was at the mercy of anyone who came across him.

This was the last time Klaus agreed to meet with someone without getting the specifics of where to find them. With nothing but a vague description, the guard felt as if he was playing hide and seek, and he wasn’t in the mood to go from room to room, snooping inside to see if he could find them. Not to mention that Klaus was feeling too old and too tired for such games. Turning a hallway towards the music room, the German decided this would be the last place he would visit before he gave up and decided to sit down and wait for her to find him.
When he opened the door, someone rushed by, and it seemed to happen so fast that Klaus had to do a double-take to realize who it was. Glancing at the other one slightly, he wondered for a brief second before asking. “Where’s the fire?”
“Heilige Schei-” Tobias narrowly avoided crashing into Klaus. It was a good thing he was light on his feet, he feared he’d make a habit of knocking people to the ground if not. He took a moment to bury the urge to reply that the fire was in his heart, burning his soul to a sorry pile of ashes all because he'd misplaced a pair of glasses. Instead he smiled politely and gave a shrug, “if there was a fire I’d likely not see it on account of being as blind as bat— although contrary to popular belief bats aren’t actually blind so where that saying came from, I don’t know.”
With the look of a defeated man he sighed, “have you seen a pair of glasses? Black frames? Circular lenses? They could apparently be anywhere.” Asking for help to find something so important to someone with impaired vision made Tobias feel quite helpless. After all, this was his place of work and as far as he was concerned he should at least look like a competent professional at all times. The castle seemed hell bent on making him look like an idiot, however, or perhaps that was his way of skirting around having to admit he could be a little scatter-brained.

Rebekah was passing back the music room when she noted what sounded liked curses in different languages. She had paused by the doors silently, you know, just in case the person inside needed help. She walked in, when she realised the guy inside could probably use someone to talk to for whatever was going on, only for him to walk into her and admittedly, since coming to the palace it wasn’t the first time she’d walked into someone or they’d walk into her because her nose was in a video game. “Hey, sorry - I heard you from outside is everything okay?”
Tobias took a step back and quickly collected himself. With a sigh he apologized, “sorry, I wasn’t trying to bulldoze you out of the way, as stupid as it sounds I’m a danger to myself and others without glasses.” Mostly to himself though, which was probably a good thing. The last thing he wanted was to be responsible for knocking royalty off their feet. What was the punishment for that? A beheading? At least that way it wouldn’t matter whether or not he ever found his glasses again. “Have you seen any? They’re black and round. Probably have legs at this point, might even be laughing at me, who knows.”

daxaxrosyara:
She laughed, amused with his complaint as she smiled. “What did you ever do to the castle to deserve it’s wrath? Drunk piss your first night here in the gardens?” she teased. Of course, his actual issue had her feel rather bad for him. If he couldn’t see well, that had to be upsetting. “Of course I’ll help. Okay, since you can’t see, how about you stand still. If they dropped on the floor and you step on them, then we’ll have an even bigger issue,” she pointed out. She glanced around the area she was currently in, careful of the floor. “What color are they? The frames? Where in the room did you take them off?” she asked.
Tobias cracked a smile and shook his head, “I almost wish that was the case but I’m completely innocent, the grudge is probably just fuelled by jealousy.” He stayed put where he was at her suggestion, silently agreeing it was probably for the best that he didn’t go blindly stomping around, in case he heard that familiar yet soul crushing sound of glasses breaking beneath his feet. “Black frames, round, wildly unflattering but they’re comfortable so I’ll suffer looking like Bert from Bert and Ernie.” The glasses had probably fallen into another dimension just like every single pen and lone sock Tobias had ever lost, but it was likelier they’d simply fallen to the floor and were blending in with the pattern on the rug.
