I just like reblogging things and cute men and women, is that too much to ask? Older than dirt and I know a little about a lot of things. I build things and work on stuff. Taking commissions on custom keyboards on subdued basis. Might ramp that up later.

Different names for Medicade by State
So with the horrendous bill getting passed today aimed squarely at Medicade, I want to take a moment to list out all of the states that have an alternate name for it, cause I have this feeling that a lot of people who for some odd reason hate Medicade don't realize that their state provided healthcare is in fact just Medicade in a themed costume.
So here we go:
Alaska DenaliCare Arizona Arizona Health Care Cost Containment System (AHCCCS) Arkansas Health Care California Medi-Cal Colorado Health First Colorado ConnecticutHuskyHealth, Husky C (for aged, blind or disabled persons) Delaware Diamond State Health Plan (Plus) FloridaStatewide Medicaid Managed Care Program (SMMC), Managed Medical Assistance (MMA) Program, Long-term Care (LTC) Program Hawaii MedQuest Illinois Medical Assistance Program Indiana Hoosier Healthwise, Hoosier Care Connect, M.E.D. Works, Health Indiana Plan (HIP), Traditional Medicaid Iowa IA Health Link Kansas KanCare Medical Assistance Program
Louisiana Bayou Health, Healthy Louisiana Maine MaineCare Maryland Medical Assistance Massachusetts MassHealth Michigan Medical Assistance or MA Minnesota Medical Assistance (MA), MinnesotaCare Mississippi Mississippi Coordinated Access Network (MississippiCAN) Missouri MO HealthNet Nebraska ACCESSNebraska, Nebraska Medical Assistance Program (NMAP) New Hampshire NH Medicaid, Medical Assistance New Jersey NJ FamilyCare New Mexico Centennial Care, Medical Assistance North Carolina Division of Health Benefits (DHB) Oklahoma SoonerCare Oregon Oregon Health Plan (OHP) Pennsylvania Medical Assistance (MA) Rhode Island RI Medical Assistance Program South Carolina Healthy Connections
Tennessee TennCare Texas STAR+PLUS
Vermont Green Mountain Care Virginia Cardinal Care Washington Apple Health Washington D.C. Healthy Families
Wisconsin Forward Health, BadgerCare Wyoming Equality Care
So, yeah. If you live in any of these states and are on one of these programs, the bill that was signed today (July 3rd, 2025) is going to be pulling BILLIONS with a B out of your health insurance providers pocket; you may in fact find that they drop you entirely because they are going to be forced to triage their subscribers.
If you live in any of these states and are on one of these programs I would strongly recommend getting any surgeries, medical procedures, exams, or preventative care while you can.
For now at least ER's will still be forced to provide care in any emergent situation, but if you were for some reason holding off on getting a surgery for the time being you're going to soon not be able to do so till potentially it's too late.
This is a dark day in the United States, and as someone who has older relatives that are dependent on two of these programs I may within the next 3 years see them essentially murdered by the people they elected. Awesome.

Speaking of Butlerian Jihad, a funny story happening near me and other places in the country right now is that grade/primary schools are turning in their chromebooks and returning the students to using pencil and paper on their work, especially essays.
They've come to the conclusion that it's the only way to effectively curb the amount of LLM usage by the students, especially for work done in class.
with the whole Microsoft layoffs thing, are they actually replacing actual human employees with AI agents considering Microsoft is heavily investing into AI to the point to where they may actually replace voice actors for their games? it's been heavily speculated that the voice actors for Master Chief and Cortana, who have been on strike against AI replacing voice actors, may have already been replaced that Microsoft is keeping tight lip about that.
First I'm seeing of it here, but looking round that's likely part of it.
USA Today piece here.
What may be behind the layoffs?
According to Reuters, the layoffs may be attributed to Microsoft's desire to cut costs as it continues to invest heavily in artificial intelligence.
Microsoft pledged $80 billion in capital spending for its fiscal year 2025. However, the increasing cost of its AI infrastructure has impacted its margins, with its June quarter cloud margin expected to shrink from last year, Reuters reported.
Other big tech companies, which are investing heavily in artificial intelligence, have also decided to lay off workers. Facebook parent Meta said earlier this year that it would lay off about 5% of its "lowest performers", while Alphabet's Google has also laid off hundreds of employees in the past year. __________________________________
Looks like they're freeing up cash so they can spend it on AI in order to make it so that they can do the agent stuff,
Nothing about VA's in there, so I can't comment on that.

The dedication to getting the poses, facial expressions, and all around weirdness of Gold Ship right in the show and game are amazing. 🤣🤣🤣
Also, one of his nicknames is shared with the RX-78-02, "The White Devil"

Believe me when I tell you almost everyone who's doing this doesn't actually understand how LLM's work with the exception of maybe a few select crazies like Sam Altman.
Those of us that actually work in the LLM and automation space fucking hate where this is going and like half the meetings we attend involve actively telling upper management that the things they want either aren't possible, will never be possible, and in some cases are outright illegal.
The stories I've heard from my friends in the medical universe are downright scary.
It needs to be regulated with human-centric laws put in place on it like yesterday.

the thing about tumblr is that it is absolutely vital and optimal that you follow at least 2-3 gays obsessed with classic hollywood. you need to get at least a few posts per day about how actors named like Clyde Burton and Elizabeth Nape were LITERALLY FUCKING ON SCREEN despite the Hays Code in movies called The Boulderderry Bonanza or Ho, Giraldo! because it's good for you. it'll keep you cultured. it's like going to public music performances in the park except instead of music it's vociferous lamentations that the Technicolor process has gone extinct and male actors aren't all open-secretly bisexual anymore
