No doubt, the last few weeks have left a bitter taste in the mouth of almost every Nigerian. For the first time in the history of our country, we were subjected to untold sufferings and hardships. A situation were we had no money, no fuel and no electricity yet no violent protests. Some of my American friends asked me how we are surviving, I told them, WE ARE NIGERIANS! We Nigerians know how to survive hardship of the highest proportions. If there are survivors in hell, they will probably be Nigerians. However, as this election holds this Saturday, every Nigerian should be ready to use their voting power to change our story by changing the government. I offer you three things we must activate to have a peaceful election that will guarantee every vote counts. I draw my inspiration from Matthew 26:51-54. One, Jesus said, Put up your sword into its place. The sword has its place for ensuring victory. In this election, your sword is your PVC. If you have it, no Governor or Principal or Priest can tell you what to do with it. You are the only one who have the ability, authority and audacity to decide what to do with it. Don't listen to the intimidation of any Governor or Principal or Priest who think they can decide for you. Your decision is between you and your conscience. Vote who you want based on your conscience. Two, Jesus said, Don't you think that I can now pray to My Father and He shall presently give Me more than twelve legions of angels? There is a limit to what your sword or PVC can accomplish. It can be snatched or stolen. This is where we need to pray as we vote. Prayer deploys the supernatural intervention of God's angels. Indeed, with the desperation of our political gladiators, we need angelic assistance. A legion is simply a brigade of 2,000 to 6,000 soldiers. Peniel was the place Jacob had an encounter with God. In Gen. 32:1-2. He saw the host of heaven. In Gen. 32:24-30, he wrestled with an angel and his name was changed. This encounter brought a major transformation in Jacob turned Israel. For the first time, Jacob the trickster who was always taking from others became Israel a generous giver to his brother. Even when his brother said, I have enough, keep what you have, Jacob persuaded him to receive from him. I have learned by experience, it takes people who have encountered God to give. We live in a time when people are more selfish and self centered that they no longer give even the tithe which is the least of giving. However, there will always be a remnant who have encountered God. These are the generous givers today. On that day, more than 30,000 people trooped to the Lagos Bar Beach to watch the execution of my father, Joel Prepore Amamieye, Personnel Manager of WAHUM, Ikeja. He was executed along with Nigeria's most notorious criminal Oyenusi and his gang. When you have seen your father killed like that for a crime he didn't commit, you can't be the same as a child. I grew up an angry and aggressive child. Rude and ruthless. Vicious and violent. However, April 29, 1979 marked a turning point for me when Jesus appeared to me and totally transformed my life. I am a living proof of the transforming power of Christ. Jesus Christ is real to me! This is the only reason I am passionate about reaching the lost because Jesus saves. Matt. 1:21. He is the Christ. Matt. 16:16. Jesus Christ simply means three things to me: 1. He is the only One appointed by God to save man. 2. He is the only One approved by God to save man. 3. He is the only One anointed by God to save man. There is none else. Acts 4:12. Before you execute your next criminal or terrorist or armed robber, let me introduce Jesus to them. Watch what Jesus can do. Jesus died for them so they don't have to die. That's why He took the place of Barabbas, a notable criminal. Matt. 27:17. He was crucified between two thieves. Matt. 27:38. His name is Jesus because He saves from sin. No sinner is beyond redemption. Jesus Christ is the only Redeemer! It is Jesus Christ in me reaching out to rescue 30 million souls in 50 nations through this global evangelistic ministry. This is why we are going to nations. This year alone, I have been to 21 nations with this gospel of Jesus Christ the only One who saves, heals and delivers for free.
