Night time portraits.... challenge accepted. This was a first and it definitely opens up so many new possibilities! Vanessa and Benji had an intimate wedding ceremony @smiletigercoffee . They found this stunning location down the street from where Vanessa grew up! It was the perfect solution to create stunning wedding photos while also getting to explore downtown. Sabrina and her husband booked a session with me to celebrate their 5 year anniversary, a huge milestone. I photograph milestone sessions because I want to be a part of my couples life far beyond their wedding day. My heart is in it to capture all of life’s moments. What better way to celebrate than at the Gooderham; one of the most iconic and historic areas in their hometown. I always love shooting here, the energy is so alive, filled with busy city energy. In an atmosphere like this we had fun with movement and went with the flow. A beautiful styled elopement with a whimsical & rustic aesthetic. Anything is possible when you have the right team of vendors. The golden hour glow warmed up the scene and made everything look bright and warm, even in the midst of November. Who would want to get hitched in the fall and winter? All you need to make it work is a warm wool or faux fur coat. If your coat is too bulky you can sinch it in the back so it has a cropped feel like in the first two photos. What an amazing experience this shoot was, it taught me so much about overcoming obstacles in order to make our vision come to life. Plans changed, and I was forced to postpone this project that I’d put countless hours into. There were so many details to be planned over again, and I can’t help but sympathize with the brides who had to do the same for their weddings this year. Let me just say that with every obstacle our vision became more clear and with every change the shoot actually improved. I can only hope the same thing happens for all of the 2020 brides in 2021.
