Hey all, this is my cookie for the brisk baahubali bakeoff challenge. Hope I did the prompt justice. :)

Prompt (Crack) : I am personally offended you didn't ask me to be your fake date!

Look, Deva,I really didn't think like that..

"What?" She hissed narrowing her eyes at him.

Please Deva,will you listen to me for a minute please please pretty please??? Amara asked trying his famous *I can melt anyone's heart in a moment * puppy eyes look.

Though she would deny it vehemently later,she did melt a bit looking at her best friend literally begging her to listen.

"Okay",she finally relented.

Relieved, Amara took a deep breath and opened his mouth but no words came out.

"You have 15 seconds more."

Gulping, " Look I was really desperate. It was a diplomatic state dinner. That trade deal was necessary . And we both know how diplomatic you are. A fake date with you would alone suffice to be the final nail in the coffin,we both know that.You probably would have wanted to rip their innards listening to their pompous stories. Not that I would need much motivation. Also Amrita is practically my sister so please don't be mad, he pouted.

"YOU DIDN'T EVEN ASK AMARENDRA BAAHUBALI! AND I AM SUPPOSED TO BE YOUR BEST FRIEND."she seethed ,her eyes flashing.

"Exactly Deva. Also there is something I wanted to tell you for a long time.I look at you not only as a best friend but also much more than that. I.. I love you, Deva. Amara confessed looking at his feet nervously.

"I didn't want to out on a godforsaken dinner like that as our first date. " He mumbled.

When he felt a gentle hand on his chin forcing him to look up,Deva's eyes were filled with tears. "I love you my Amara." She said sincerely.

" But, she scowled stubbornly, I want a compensation. "

"Anything for my lioness.",gathering her securely in his arms."What does my queen need hmm?"

Deva shivered when his deep baritone voice dropped a few decibels.

"Cuddles,tea,rasgullas made by your own hands and a searing toe curling kiss. She said smirking. "Also not necessarily in that order."

A peacock danced joyfully in the garden of the royal palace as a shower of blessings dropped on the earth from the clouds,signaling the start of an everlasting relationship of love and devotion...

Hey guys, this is a fun work of the Baahubali fandom. Its basically an OTP ask meme which @mayavanavihariniharini partly wrote. It inspired me to write my first fic. I have stalked the Baahubali fandom for over 2 years *phew*now and I am tagging a bunch of people whose works I admire. @mayavanavihariniharini @carminavulcana @duniyasemera @avani008 @starlessxskies @ruminationsofaraven @fierarain .

Just a few notes:

This is not canon complaint.

I have minor alterations in the personality of Devasena (she is a bit more understanding and actually puts her fiery temper to good use.)

Bhalla is still snarky,but not cruel.

Indira is a bit like Avantika.

Also in this au Bhalla almost killed Baahu but came to his senses in the nick of time and Baahu eventually forgives him.

AMARENDRA X DEVASENA

Devasena

No one is particularly finicky about how they look.

Usually they sing a lullaby to each other😇😇other times,we know what;)

Baahu ,wondering how on earth did he get so lucky.

Both ,when in a particularly cheesy mood.

Devasena just gets frustrated, but then gets distracted by Baahu's fingers,let's say?

Baahu( He is perpetually cold,Devasena is perpetually hot) pun intended.

No one needs sunscreen actually.

Baahu. Sacrilege. Period

Devasena on Baahu's lap;)

Whether to keep windows open or not during chilly weather.

Generally Devasena but Baahu has prevented a lot of disasters due to his quick thinking mainly in the kitchen.

Baahu.

Baahu. He is a natural. But Devasena is the stricter parent.

Baahu.

25. Who mistakes salt for sugar?

Devasena, when fighting with Baahu and doesn't want to eat anything made by him.

Devasena doesn't go near the the microwave, shit at basically functioning in the kitchen.

None.

28. Who lets the microwave play the loud beeping sound at 1 a.m.?

Baahu (probably in a seductive manner)

Baahu has to do it as Deva point blank refuses to do it.

Baahu. Samosas are a favourite, then drags Devasena in some bizzare adventure across the town at 2.30 am.

Both.

33. How do they eat ice cream? What’s their favorite flavors?

Baahu prefers tubs, Deva a chocobar.Strawberry and Coffee - chocolate respectively.

34. Do they go on dates? What are they like?

Yes. Mostly picnics and incognito trips,some much needed quality time.

35. What do they smell when they smell amortentia?

Baahu - samosas,naphthalene balls,Devasena 's lavender perfume.

Devasena- New books,paint and Baahu's manly smell.

36. Which one is the secret snuggler?

Devasena. She is coy and vulnerable only in front of her Baahu.

37. Which one offers their jacket to the other when they complain they feel cold?

Devasena to Baahu

38. Who reaches for the other one’s hand while driving?

Baahu. It helps Deva to calm down in traffic.

Baahu. Often secret messages of love or shayari.

Baahu of course:)

Baahu and Devasena respectively. (Top secret: Deva snuggles with Baahu whenever possible. Shhh)🤐🤫

Baahu loves about Deva - Her brutal honesty .

Deva about Baahu - His infinite kindness and patience.

43. What is the first thing that changes when they realize they have feelings for the other?

Baahu - More sensitive towards her.

Deva - More gentle and fond.

Deva is the only one who can call him Amar and Amar is the only one who can call her Deva.

Deva - Over Baahu's trust praying everyday that it does not get broken. By anyone.

Baahu and it always leads to something else;)

When Deva gets a bruise in combat, she is amused to see Baahu mothering over her.

"Its just a bruise, Amar."

"No its a BRUISE, Deva"

"You just focus on not pressing the wound, will you?"

"WOUND??"

"Yes."

"Love,don't worry. It will be gone by tomorrow. "

Baahu froze. Did he dream that melodious voice saying love?

"L-love? You love me?"

"No I loathe you" Deva replied, rolling her eyes. But seeing her Baahu looking so confused with that puppy eyes of his,she melted into a puddle .

"Of course I love you, you idiotic scamp."

"I love you too." Came the sincere reply.

The only response she gave was snogging the living daylights put of him.

48. Who tells their friends/family about their relationship first?

Both tell simultaneously. They also prefer to be open about any part of their relationship, except of course the most important and intimate moments.

49. What do they do when they’re away from each other?

Deva enjoys her solace. Meditation and daydreaming are her favourite activities.

Baahu enjoys reorganizing the whole house from top to bottom. Its therapeutic for him.

50. Who gets overwhelmed by small acts of kindness?

Baahu - He is usually at the giving end of kindness and affection. Not only Deva but when Indu and especially Bhalla gives him something personalized and useful instead of something extravagant which he would never use in his life ,he can't help the tears in his eyes .

Indu- Mehendi,coffee,pizza and Bhalla's expensive cologne.

Indu(Likes to act like a boss lady but fails miserably in front of Bhalla)

Bhalla to Indu.

Bhalla knows it all the time. It takes a little wingmanship from Baahu. After she realizes, the first words she speaks to him are I love you.

Bhalla (He needed a lot of coaxing from AmarSena and Indu but he finally did it.)

49. What do they do when they’re away from each other?

Bhalla whiles away time in the kridangan or polishes his mace. Truthfully he feels lonely because he is an extrovert. The house feels haunted without Indu so he uses this time to mingle with his friends group.

50. Who gets overwhelmed by small acts of kindness?

Bhalla- He simply doesn't understand why he is mollycoddled when he is sick or sad even after he committed those crimes now he even shudders to remember. He was very touched when Deva took the efforts to understand and wear down his drama queen façade and unravel the softieunder those thick masks - of a detached man he had put up to avoid being hurt. To this day he maintains that he doesn't deserve the love and joy of having people who really care about you.
