My favorite fic of yours is Silences and Insanities, believe it or not.
I believe you, friend. That story has my heart even now and I hope someday I can complete all the companion works that I began writing for it. Baahubali has an emotional core that is hard to compete with. And Silences and Insanities gave me a way to explore its extremes without having to deal with the trauma of a female character's abuse, which is something I personally cannot deal with.
How are you? I miss the old days...

The bahubali fandom literally lacks amarsena-ness at this moment. Where's amarsena doing sweethearted hubby-wifey fluffy shit. Maybe you could fix that for us 🥺🥺🥺
the whole fandom probably knows the issues I have with their relationship but I can't say they aren't cute and peak romance. at the moment I lack of ideas but my fic priyatama can give you some amarsena feels and I am also working on a update for it

Please can you do a DEVASENA MANDALA!!
Super excited to see how it turns out.
please do zoom in and look at all the details on the mandala in higher resolution, actually put time and lots of love into this, proud of this one
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
thank you so much for the ask! absolutely love my queen devasena and here ya go bestie <3
thank you for giving me this opportunity my love, i obviously did have other plans for this mandala i swear, you know the blue/gold attire from the song, i was going to use one of my very iconic 2017/18 devasena edits as background and inspiration to the colour theme and design motifs for it,
but then @an-adventureland, my beloved gave me a colour palette of orange/pink and i could not stop. i have been at it for 2½ hours continuously lmaoo
i didn't just make a casual usual intricate mandala, i decided to make her an edit too, i did what is the chef's equivalent of tearing the insides of bread to make it into a soup bowl, and used the border strips of the mandala as a backdrop/ halo for devasena, also i finally tried the pop-up desaturate idea like i have always wanted to do for a long time <3
consider this a return gift and me going back to my roots and origins, baahubali and starbharat brought me onto tumblr, my first fandoms <3
my back is already aching lmaoo but i would still always, readily, and willingly die for this fucking queen, i love her so much, devasena supremacy and jai mahishmathi!! <3

ভাবুনা - bhabuna
Written for the @thebaahubalibakeoffchallenge
@bleedinknight @ruminationsofaraven
Thank you so much for this lovely event! I had tons of fun writing this.
My prompt was Dark AU: Baahu chooses the throne over Devasena. Enjoy!
ভাবুনা - To think, to wonder
There’s a moment where he almost chooses her.
She sees it in the way his eyes keep falling back to hers, in the way his hands twitch to hold her, in the way every part of him grows towards her like a plant thirsty for the sun.
(She’s never felt this way before…)
But unfortunately, Amarendra is too much a prince, a son, to do her any justice, and just as Ram condemned Sita, so too does Amarendra condemn her.
(...and she’ll never feel this way again.)
For the rest of his life, Amarendra wonders if he made the right choice.
If he asked his citizens, they would praise him. “Of course you made the right choice!” they would exclaim, bringing up his irrigation inventions, his cutting of the absurdly high Farmer Tax, his protection against Mahishmati’s enemies, both inside and outside. “Mahishmati is great!” they would say, looking up to him as a God.
If he asked his ministers, they would commend him. “Of course you made the right choice!” they would say, citing his pushback against the various tribes and countries that threatened the kingdom, his contributions to the treasury’s wealth, his patronage to the arts and sciences. “Mahishmati is powerful!” they would proclaim, looking up to him as the King.
...If he asked his mother, she would tease him. “Of course you made the right choice!” she would proclaim, pointing out his elated citizens, his satisfied ministers, his fulfilled duty to the kingdom. “Mahishmati is happy!” she would declare, looking up to him as her son.
Great, powerful, happy… Mahishmati would not have been any of these things if he’d made a different choice back then. Perhaps everyone is right. Perhaps he did make the right choice back then, even if it had been a difficult one to make.
Then he remembers Devasena’s eyes as she’d gotten on the swan boat, looking down at him as a man.
And he wonders all over again.

For @ratnas-musings : Hope you like the GIF-s! :D
For the @teambaahubali Summertime Challenge
Fortnight Two (Bhumi): Meta 2: Naadaswaram Scene.(Baahubali: The Conclusion)
Amidst a plethora of scenes (read: the entire movie), this is yet another scene that stands out, both script-wise, and cinematography-wise. Script-wise, because, this sequence of celebration heralding a new life, actually precedes a tragedy that marks the end of one taken as a father figure in the land of Maahishmati.
And cinematography-wise, well... here’s another hair-splitting.
1. The tone of the scene: The sequence marks a celebration, where Amarendra and Devasena eagerly anticipate their soon-to-arrive baby. Set designer Sabu Cyril accordingly sets the ambience with a lot of warm tones, mainly red and gold, yet again, as both the colours mark a celebration as well. It is also noteworthy that in such scenes, the gold is given greater preference over the warm-red, since this is supposed to be a very bright scene, as opposed to the previous meta I’d done which was supposed to be a grim scene, emphasising the antagonist’s anger. Now, I know this is supposed to be based on cinematographic factors, but in such period films, like Baahubali, Devdas, etc, there’s seldom a point in cinematography, that doesn’t contribute to the furtherance of the script. The movies that leave it to cinematography to do the heavy lifting, actually do not leave significant cinematic impression, examples of which abound.
The hues, and tones used here, are bright and mild, as opposed to scalding, and scorching, to actually denote a celebration.
2. The lighting: Bright, warm lights, coupled with a simplistic, but majestic decor do the trick here. The viewer might as well note that the sequence takes place in an open area, as opposed to a grand palace, where nature plays the most part in decoration. The supplements come in the form of a blazing fire, bursting out in the background, as Amarendra, (a delight-to-behold Prabhaas), begins playing the instrument, the flowers showered aplenty at the end, et al. These, in turn further accentuate the mood of the sequence, making it resonate with the viewers here.
3. The camera angles: As opposed to many other sequences, the camera here has a wider scope of focus. This time, -again, in furtherance of the script- the camera takes into account the crowd, in keeping with the theme of inclusion intended to be magnified here. While it does focus on AmarSena (an ethereally beautiful Anushka as Devasena), it does so in conjunction with the crowd that loves and adores them both on and off camera.

My Baahubali girls, I think I am again starting to obsess over Amarsena and our little fandom. Is it still kinda alive or totally dead. Should I bother updating unfinished works or should they remain in the graveyard on the outskirts of Mahishmati?
Are you guys over Baahubali or do Amarsena still stir something primal within you?
@vidhurvrika @avani008 @worddiva179 @heyifinallyhaveablog @allegoriesinmediasres @queenofmahishmati @bleedinknight @ambidextrousarcher @amarsenadiehardfan @ratnas-musings @parlegee @partialdignity

Amrendra cuts off that ministers head and it lands at Devsena's feet. Deva cuts off Naraang's head and it lands at Varadha's feet.
Am I delulu or can you see the parallels as well?
Please tell me I'm not delulu 😭😭😭
oh absolutely, i was internally cheering in the theater because of the amarsena parallels
(also the parallel to the bit about varadha’s head at naarang’s feet)

For @avani008.
Filling the request for the Baahubali Alphabet Challenge- D for Devasena, romantic relationship: Amarendra/Devasena- Words left unsaid.
Accompanying fic to the edit-
In the 25 years of hell that Bhalla had visited on Devasena, everyone said that she remained strong, unshaken. Devasena alone knew how much she had shaken, still shook. Yes, she had never lost hope that Mahendra would come back, that she would get her justice. But she had to work hard to keep a hold on her sanity.
Baahu had helped her then. Even though he wasn't physically present, she tried to keep him alive her spirit, her heart. However hard she tried, her memories of her Baahu, her Veera were turning slippery, elusive, losing themselves day by day.
Until then. Kattappa Maama's voice weaved their story in words and the memories came rushing back to Devasena. Baahu's inept acting, his steadfast courage at the first sign of adversity. Him holding her hands for the first time. Going together to Mahishmati. The Queen Mother's anger. Baahu staying by her side inspite of his mother's ire.
Maama kept speaking, and, unbidden, the montage of their marriage came to the forefront of Devasena's mind. Baahu staring into her eyes, the love he held for her clearly reflected on his face. Had they ever said "I love you" to each other? Devasena did not remember. But she did remember entwining her fingers in his, thinking 'I am his and he is mine'.
The memories kept coming. Baahu's silent grief at his family's continued rebuffs, grief that he always smothered with a smile, but was apparent to her nonetheless. The Queen Mother's simmering anger. The incident at the temple. Baahu alone believing in her innocence. Her own harsh and thoughtless words. The exile.
Baahu was not a man of many words, but they hardly needed any to understand each other. She could read the forlorn, lost expression on his face when he stared at the edifice of the palace, where his mother was. She had offered her silent sympathy and comfort, and, for him, that was enough.
She remembered the joy on his when he'd finally felt Mahendra moving, the exultant music he had played. The evenings spent in the sun's shadows. The last, silent goodbye kiss on her forehead. She remembered her Veera, her husband. Amarendra Baahubali.
Without her realizing, Devasena's eyes had closed. She opened them, and, for a moment, she saw her husband. The light shifted then, and Baahu's ghost became Mahendra once more.
Devasena smiled nonetheless. She had her husband where he belonged. In her heart, in her soul. She had her memories back, their words, both said and unsaid. She could begin healing now.
