amaterasu is a part of the japanese myth cycle and also a major deity of the shinto religion. she is seen as the goddess of the sun, but also of the universe. the meaning of her whole name, amaterasu-ōmikami, is “the great august kami (god) who shines in the heaven”.

The water simply moved off of Jet due to his speed, and then he could see the sun above all the bad weather.

“That’s better, don’t you think, Sunshine?”

         SOON, amaterasu felt the warm rays of the sun bathe her white coat, waking her back up from the warmth. of course, she had a deep affinity with the sun because she was the goddess who protected it. she barked happily, her tail wagging wildly — a positive response to his inquiry.
